Well this took a good two weeks and a mental breakdown to finish, but it's here.
Whatever, go my taiream tkl fic!!!!!
Characters: Miles "Tails" Prower, Cream the Rabbit, Cheese the chao (side character lololol)
Boy, had this been a really rough day.
Tails didn’t know what was worse; the fact his latest invention had failed fantastically, or the fact Eggman had completely destroyed the Tornado in one of his daily attacks. He had just repaired one of the biplane’s fallen propellers!
“It’s fine” he grumbled, trying to compose himself and regain his usual optimistic and cheerful attitude as he stomped his way back home, patting off some of the remaining smoke stuck on his fur. “It’s totally fine.”
And everyone around him knew this.
Sonic, concerned for his little brother, tried to cheer him up and convince him it was not that big of a deal. But no matter what the hedgehog said, the scowl on Tails’ face refused to disappear. He made a mental note to kick Eggman’s butt harder the next time he shows up.
Cream the rabbit was casually sitting on the couch, accompanied by her loyal pet chao, Cheese. Both had been happily drawing themselves with a set of crayons until a loud noise disturbed their peace.
The door was suddenly slammed open. The two tailed fox made his presence known, shutting the door with amazing strength for someone his size, and plopped down on the couch next to Cream, huffing and resting his head over his hand.
The little rabbit and the chao stared at Tails with wide eyes, still startled over the rude entrance he had just performed. With her typical shy and soft tone, Cream turned over to the engineer.
“Mr. Tails? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m just…it’s so unfair! I’ve been working on my project for days! The moment I was about to take it out for a test, it suddenly decides its highly flammable? I had checked the calculus twice. Twice! And to top it all off, Eggman had to blow up the Tornado like I hadn’t JUST fixed it after the last crash! Ugh!!”
Tails whipped around to stare at Cream’s highly confused expression. Then, he huffed again, laying back on the couch.
“I’m sorry, Cream, I’m just…really frustrated right now. A lot of things went wrong today, and…it’s not your fault. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”
The rabbit’s concerned frown deepened. She hated it when any of her friends fell for the evil clutches of a bad mood, especially Tails. Oh, she was not going to let it be this way.
Cream pondered briefly on how to lift the fox’s spirits again. Cheese seemed to join in, and after a small thinking session, the little Chao floated closer to it’s companion, and whispered into one of her large ears. She nodded excitedly as a determined spark lit up in her eyes. It was brilliant.
“Mr. Tails? Maybe I can think of something to help you be happy again!” she suggested, clasping her hands together.
The grumpy two-tailed engineer hummed, reluctant of engaging in his friend’s plans.
“I appreciate it, Cream, but I don’t—”
Before he could finish his sentence, a sudden but familiar feeling snuck up over him.Fingers slowly crawling up the sides of his torso.Oh no.
The reaction was immediate. Tails flinched reflexively at the touch, his namesakes fluffing up in surprise and then wagging slightly behind him as he began to laugh and struggle.
Cream and Cheese seemed particularly amused and proud of the results from their little plan, so the rabbit kept on going, her hands moving from his sides to his ribs.
“Khh—! Hehehey!! Cream, what-- what are you dohohoing!?”
“I’m cheering you up, Mr. Tails! Is it working?”
The fox turned his head away and tried to twist sideways in an attempt to dodge his friend’s attack. He really didn’t want to admit it, but it was, in fact, working.
“N-No, I…pffft—!! Let me go! This isn’t fuhuhunny!!” Tails protested.
“But you’re laughing!” Cream replied.
During their little back and forth, Cream’s fingers had wandered over to Tails’ stomach. This made the two-tailed fox squeal with surprise and flop over to the side on the couch, his tails swaying wildly behind him. She joined him in his giggling fit, following his moves. Cheese, on the other hand, simply chirps happily while enjoying the interaction between the two sidekicks.
After a few more seconds of playful tussling, Cream relented, allowing Tails to catch his breath after a good dose of tickling. She sat next to him, hands folded over her lap as she offered a bright smile.
“Are you feeling better, Mr. Tails?”
The fox sat straight again, and glanced at the young rabbit, returning the gesture with a grin of his own.
That trick always worked with him.
“Yeah, I do. Thanks, Cream.”
