No one is the fandom police. No one has supreme authority over the right/wrong way a character can look. It's a fucking fictional character. Do whatever you want. Who the fuck cares. Life's too short to bitch/whine/complain/worry about something THAT petty.

And if you are that person to get up in arms over how someone chooses to draw/depict a character . . . find a more creative outlet for that righteous anger, I beg you. At the very least, block and move on. It's literally that easy.

For now, I will keep drawing the way I have always imagined Fiyero; taking the best bits of both the book and musical and mashing them together.

Also as an aside, your own post/reply feels . . . extremely hypocritical how you're praising yourself with how much better your Fiyero design is because you made him . . . slightly tan. I'm sorry, that dude is still very much white. Just because he is tan and has curly hair doesn't make him not-white, and that may just be due to inexperience, but my sister in Christ, you cannot preach about having a white Fiyero with tattoos while having .... a white Fiyero with tattoos.

When it comes to the whitewashing of an originally indigenous character, which is what movie and musical fiyero is, I can and will air my greivances over how people draw him.

You've taken one of his cultural identifiers, his tattoos, and plasted them on a white man. His tattoos are cultural and important to him as an Arjiki clan member and so when you strip them of their meaning and slap them on a white, blond hair blue eyed 'version' of him, and then get defensive when people call you out on this... what am I meant to think? What do his tattoos add to your character design, other than to try and make him visually interesting?

You can say your version is a mash up of all the Fiyeros come and gone, but if you're gonna include his tattoos why not draw the reason he has them- his indigenous heritage? Are you afraid of drawing People of colour??? Why so defensive when you get called out? (I didn't even call you out personally - you came onto my post and shot yourself in the foot)

To add- you also said that tattoos are a multicultural thing, and while correct in our world, that doesn't apply here. Book!Fiyero is an indigenous man with dark skin and dark hair and blue diamond tattoos that are linked to his culture as part of the Arjiki clan. Saying his tattoos aren't cultural is factually wrong and using real world logic to excuse it is bullshit.
