360 degrees of Beauty

I'm very thankful for many things in my life. Sometimes the negative attitudes of others can get me down and try to bring me down to their level of misery. But then I remember something--that I have the ability to feel HOWEVER I feel, regardless of how the people around me feel.

For example, this restaurant I've been working at pays decent money. I'm not about to laugh or scoff at $500 a week. As someone who just dealt with the idiotic pay system at Kohl's of minimum wage, I am not about to complain. Also, with my bills totaling only around $300 a month (gas, car ins, phone, student loan) and living at home, I'm able to save a lot of it! *My car needs some work and I want to move out eventually, so I've got mini-savings going for those things.

Some of the people that I work with are unhappy making "this kind of money". I'm sorry--did you think you were hired to do some super risky job that pays like $350 a night? And apparently when this place was open last year (different owners) that was the case. However, I'm not that upset that I'm still making over $100 a night!

It's important for me to remember to be thankful for all the opportunities that I have and all the things about myself that I love. I'm also thankful for my crazy but slightly functional family, my forgiving and supportive friends (even though they are all over the map) and my wonderful boyfriend. They all keep me going and keep me focused on being happy.

I'm very happy that my boyfriend and I made plans to go visit his family in NH and MA in a few weeks. Also in August the four of us (mom, dad, me and boyfriend) are headed to Block Island for a day. I'm really happy with how this summer is turning out and it's probably one of my best so far.
