"Unnie, I have to tell you something." She said with such an unnerving tone that even Yunjin was being serious for a moment.

"Yeah? What is it; are you okay?" Yunjin responded with such care for the younger girl she honestly considered her baby sister.

"I'm dating someone."

Yunjin paused for a moment before accidentally raising her voice too loud for the other members to hear, "WHAT?!"

"Unnie! Be quiet!" Eunchae pleaded for a moment, considering she wanted to tell the members all separately.

"WHO IS SHE?" Yunjin asked, way too enthusiastically for that time in the morning. Within no time all of the members ears had perked up and they walked over to the scene to investigate. With not much bribing at all Yunjin had broke, "Our baby is dating someone." She dramatically gasped as if she were actively performing a play written in the 18th Century. As if choreographed, Sakura, Chaewon, and Kazuha's heads all snapped to look at Eunchae. "It's true," she confirmed before turning to Yunjin to bicker like siblings, "but I wanted to tell everyone separately!"

"Listen, I'm sorry! But you know I can't help things like this." Yunjin apologised.

"It's okay. I guess I have to explain myself. Her name is Y/N." Eunchae paused due to nerves and all of her unnies began to stare at her. "I would like you all to meet her. Soon."

"How soon?" Chaewon asked, naturally due to her leader instincts and having a tight schedule.

"During a lunch time at some point this week?" Eunchae asked and Chaewon nodded. It didn't take long before Kazuha and Sakura added their own opinions on the matter. "Eunchae, have you got a photo of her?" Eunchae nodded at the question asked by Kazuha. She pulled out her phone to show a picture of you. To her, you looked so sweet and precious. But to the members you looked scary and highly intimidating. "Uhh- Eunchae? Are you sure about her?" Sakura asked. She tilted her head confused at the question. "Hm? Yeah, of course I am sure!"

"It's just that... She looks kinda scary? And lowkey mean..." Yunjin fought back.

"Ohhh no no no! I promise you she is so sweet." Eunchae vouched heavily for you so the members agreed to meet you at lunch on Thursday.

TIME SKIP TO THURSDAY LUNCH TIME

You were stood outside the HYBE building waiting to get escorted to the practice room by Eunchae and her manager. You really wanted to make a good impression on your girlfriend's members because you loved her, so by extension you wanted to be able to love (platonically) and spend time with them too! With this in mind you asked your girlfriend for everyone's coffee order because you believed you couldn't show up empty handed when meeting them for the first time.

Some time passed and you finally reunited with Eunchae and hugged her tightly to get rid of some of the nerves. "Don't worry Y/N. They're going to love you. They might seem stubborn at first but I promise it is just an act." She reassured you before leading you upstairs to where she works.

When you finally reached the practice room you stood outside for a moment to take a deep breath before walking in. "Everyone, this is Y/N! My girlfriend." She smiled brightly and in return you smiled a giddy grin right back at her. You looked at the fimmies before shyly introducing yourself. "Hi, I'm Y/N! I brought you all coffee because I'm sure you've all had a tiring day. I asked Eunchae for all your orders. I hope that's okay." Yunjin was first to speak after you and smiled, "That is so thoughtful! I think on behalf of my members we are all so grateful for the gift, that is super kind!" The members nodded around her as to say they agree. With that you smiled brightly again and hand out the coffee to everyone.

During the lunch period you spent time getting to know all the members and eventually getting comfortable to the point you participated in friendly banter. Towards the end you were all out of energy so you sat down and immediately laid yourself down with you head in her lap before she starts threading her fingers through your hair. It was then in that moment that the fimmies realised that maybe you're not to mean and scary person they thought you would be; because you're actually just a sweet girl with a lot of love to share. Not long after you had to leave so you said your goodbye's and shared and soft kiss with Eunchae outside the building as she escorted you out. "Thank you for coming today." She stated.

"Of course! They mean a lot to you so this was very important to me. I hope they like me."

"They do, I promise."

Eunchae reluctantly left to go back to rehearsals, only to bet met with the faces of 4 very impressed idols. "Eunchae! She was so sweet.." Kazuha shared.

"Yeah, she was just so sweet! How did you bag that?" Yunjin exclaimed before Chaewon playfully gave her a slap on the wrist. "She was like a golden retriever!" Sakura exclaimed and the others nodded and validated that opinion. "That's so true." Yunjin added.

Moral of the story, the fimmies learned not to judge a book by its cover, because the contents could actually be much more than the cover implies.

After YN had messaged Sophia she got up and looked in the mirror. For the past few hours she had been sobbing her eyes out in her joint room with Lara and Megan while they were out. The two were due home any time now and the only safe place she could think of was Sophia. She wiped her tears and grabbed her special plushie before running to Sophia’s room that was just down the hall.

She knocked on the door and Sophia answered promptly afterwards. Before Sophia even had a chance to welcome YN in and close the door behind her, YN had already pounced into Sophia’s arms and started sobbing into her shoulder. “Hey, hey, you’re okay, I got you. Baby, what’s wrong?” Sophia asked as she held her with one arm and manoeuvred the other side of her body to close the door, done like a true single mother of 5. “Mama…” YN sobbed into her shoulder. It broke Sophia’s heart to hear that word come out her mouth. She knew YN saw her as a mother figure, but she only called her mama when things were really bad. “What’s up?” Sophia slowly moved the two over to the bed and held her tightly, now with both arms. “I can’t stop thinking about Yunjin… And the way she hugged me…” Sophia nodded and mouthed the word ‘oh’ to herself. “What do you mean, baby?” Sophia spoke with that patient caring mother tone. All she wanted was for YN to feel safe. “I mean like- The way she hugged me. It made me feel a type of way? I don’t know? I’ve never felt this way before. Not about anyone. Not even about my ex boyfriend.” YN rambled on as Sophia patiently listened.

“What are you saying? Like you felt butterflies?”

“Yeah, every time she hugged me or even slightly touched me. Without fail.” YN nodded.

“But you never felt like that with your ex boyfriend?” Sophia reiterated. YN shook her head to confirm Sophia’s statement.

“I mean, I’ve always thought she was attractive! But I thought it was just because I can appreciate when a woman looks good!” YN rambled on even more.

“Do you think you’re gay?” Sophia asked the question YN was scared of. She took a second to process it before slowly nodding her head. “I don’t think I liked men,” YN responded, “I’ve never felt this way about a man before. Is this what crushes feel like?”

“Typically, yeah. But it’s important to remember that you don’t have to put a label on anything right now. Right now you’re figuring yourself out. That doesn’t mean you do or don’t like men! But if you’re sure you like Yunjin romantically then great! She’s a lovely girl. I truly think you two would be great together.”

“You really think that, Phia?” Sophia nodded in response to the question.

“You feeling a bit better after talking about it?”

“Yeah, thanks Phia. I love you.” Y/n cuddled into her, but in a less sad way. “Okay, well Yoonchae is gonna be back any second now. You can stay if you like but I think it would be good to discuss this with Lara or Megan! They could also be good to talk to about this.”

“You’re right. Thanks again, I’m gonna go talk to Lara and Megan. Love you!” YN got up and skipped to the door, waving goodbye to Sophia as they both said their ‘see you laters.’ This conversation with Lara and Megan was about to be long. And she hopes it’ll go well.

It was around 6am when The Katz arrived at the HYBE building in Korea. An early call time, but no one complained because not only had they had worse call times, but the surrounding members were buzzing off of YN’s energy and excitement. All the girls were exhausted to say the least and their struggle to get through the front security was definitely not helping them ground themselves.

Megan and Yoonchae were hungry and luckily for them so was Sophia and YN, they were just less vocal about it. The HYBE cafeteria opens early in the morning due to the average idol schedule and it’s important to keep up with a healthy and nutritious meal plan throughout the day to maintain energy to get through the average 12 hour dance rehearsals.

Unbeknownst to YN, Sophia was lagging behind to secretly message Yunjin, who is one of Sophia’s closest friends, and also YN’s bias in Le Sserafim. Sophia failed to mention that she’d be filming with Yunjin and Sakura later in the day. Oh well! She hopes that YN enjoys the surprise, considering she’s already been hyping herself up to meet her idols for the second time in her lifetime.

The other three Katz (Megan, Yoonchae and YN) were hastily pacing towards the elevator because they truly wanted to get to the cafeteria soon. The girls had heard rumblings that the iced coffee there was really good, and they’d definitely be needing that in order to get through the long day ahead of them.

Within minutes, they had arrived and found a table to sit at with their drinks and food. “Oh wow, this iced coffee really is good!” Sophia informed the girls surrounding her.

“Can I try?” Yoonchae asked as she had ordered an iced matcha latte. Sophia nodded and let Yoonchae sip from her drink, expressing her enjoyment of the drink alongside her.

On the other side of the table, Megan and YN were eating whatever they thought looked good at the time and letting out a small “mmm” after every good bite. Everyone was rushing to finish their breakfast as they had around 20 minutes before they needed to be downstairs, in the Le Sserafim practice room. “Soph, do we have to run our own warm-ups today?” YN asked, curious as she was unsure of the schedule herself. “Well, considering you’ve done plenty of warming up this morning on your own accord, you should be fine, but it wouldn’t hurt to run through a quick physical and vocal before we go downstairs, just in case they don’t end up doing one with us. The worst that could happen is we do an extra warm-up, and that’s not a bad thing at all.”

YN nodded at Sophia’s response and finished sipping on her drink before gesturing at Megan to get up and start a physical warm up with her. “Okay, so I think today we do minor cardio, like jumping jacks and jumps on the spot, stretches all over the body and then breathing. That sound okay Meg?”

“Sounds good to me,” Megan responded as she found a mid-tempo song to keep on beat with. Both girls had space between them as the song started and they were facing the window. “Okay, 2 counts of 8 for jumping jacks, then turn left and repeat until we’ve done a 360° turn, is that okay?” YN nodded in response to Megan as they started their mini physical warm-up.

Twenty minutes later and both of their warm-ups had concluded and they were ready to rush down to the practice room. YN walked up the Sophia and anxiously clung to her armed and grabbed her hand in an attempt to ground herself. “You okay?” Sophia asked. “I’m so nervous. What if I make myself look ridiculous? What if I overcompensate and they think I’m annoying?” YN started to ramble out of anxious nature as Megan and Yoonchae walked ahead of them. “Listen, just think of it this way, this is not your first time meeting them, they already like you! Just be yourself, if you need a step to the side let me know. Or if you can’t find the courage to say it out loud tap my arm with three fingers. Does that sound like a good strategy?” Sophia was good at making people feel less anxious. She truly was the best option for the leader of this group and that was a unanimous agreement between all 7 members. YN only nodded in response to Sophia but she acknowledged her with a little smile as she rubbed the back of YN’s hand with her thumb to comfort her before they entered the practice room.

Now it’s time. They all stepped foot inside the practice room and right in front of them was Le Sserafim, but someone’s missing… Strange. The first people to greet them were Chaewon and Sakura, “Annyeonghaseyo” and “Nice to meet you again,” repeated between all the members. The two members got to YN and immediately greeted her enthusiastically by pulling her into a hug. “It’s nice to finally see you again!” Chaewon exclaimed in a manner that was definitely practiced beforehand with Yunjin, but she’s trying her best and the effort itself was all that mattered. YN returned a big smile, “I’m so excited to meet you guys again; I’m like your biggest fan ever.” Chaewon and Sakura giggled at the slight ramble. It was Sakura’s turn to talk and she took time to carefully calculate her sentence, “Thank you so much! We are your big fans too! We’re all huge KATSEYE fans!” YN’s jaw dropped as she heard that her idols were all huge fans of her. It was unreal to hear. It got to the point where Kazuha and Eunchae had finally caught up to the others and started small talk and YN could not stop smiling. It’s one thing to be in a room with your idols, but to have a conversation with them is another level!

Everyone was now gathered in a big group and Sophia spoke up, “Where’s Yunjin?”

“Ahhh, Yunjin quickly went up to the cafeteria to get all of us water! She’ll be back soon,” Chaewon swiftly responded and YN’s eyes went wide.

“We probably just missed her on our way down here then..” Sophia continued.

“Yunjin is here?!” YN exclaimed in shock.

“Yeah, you’re filming with her today! Surprise!” Sophia confirmed.

“Sophia what the fuck. You can’t just spring this on me. What if i make myself look stupid!”

“You’ll be fine, I promise!”

Five minutes of more conversation went past before Yunjin finally returned, “Heyy everyone,” She smiled enthusiastically before her eyes laying on YN and running up to engulf her with a hug. “Oh my God, YN, it’s been so long! It’s so nice to finally meet you properly.” The sudden contact made YN feel weird. Like butterflies, but surely not because they tend to be only romantically inclined and YN isn’t gay.. “I’m such a huge fan of yours, it’s so exciting to meet you personally.” YN rambled as Yunjin pulled away from the hug, keeping hold of her hands.

For around 10 minutes, the two of them alone took the time to talk about anything and everything. Sophia was smiling at YN proudly while making conversation in the group with literally everyone else. Everyone got cut off by the dance instructor coming in to teach Megan and YN the dance to ‘Different’ by Le Sserafim. It wasn’t the hardest dance in the world. The arms took a bit for YN to pick up but everything else was fine.

It got to filming the TikTok and they were being given directions for where to go. It ended up starting with Yunjin and YN on one side starting the choreo, the going to Sakura and Megan for the second part and then they all finish the choreo at the end and come close to the camera and pose together.

It took a few takes to get the movement completely right and by the end of the take Yunjin had comfortably slipped her arm around YN’s waist during their pose. YN felt that strange feeling again and it overwhelmed her a bit but she payed no mind to it. Soon after, the KATSEYE manager entered and mentioned that the other girls were all in the building and ready to get transported to their press run early, so the meeting was cut short.

Yunjin couldn’t let YN leave without giving her a big hug and wishing her well. “We have more schedules together soon; I’ll see you then!” She smiled brightly at YN.

“See you then, Yunjin, it was so nice to meet you!” YN responded before being ushered out the building by her manager.

Throughout the entire car journey she didn’t speak much, she just laid her head on Megan’s shoulder as her mind slowly drifted to every moment that she felt those weird butterflies… It took over her mind and she felt like Megan and Sophia could sense the tension in your mind, but both decided to wait for you to come to them to speak about it.
