A Little Jack x Elsa Draft
I've been sad the last few months and since my cat passed I've been trying to keep myself busy. Reverting back to some of my comfort ships. Here is a small draft for a modern Jelsa AU I've been thinking about. Let me know if I should post more.
Summary: Elsa had no choice but to hire an escort. She really had no time for romance, and she couldnāt show up to her sister's engagement party without a date. Anna wouldnāt hear a word of protest; she had insisted Elsa bring the mystery man sheād been hiding. Truly, it was Elsaās fault. She should have been honest from the start and never claimed she was seeing someone. Now, Elsa had no choice. Word Count: 1,121
āļø For years, Anna had said Elsa spent too much time working. One night, fed up with the constant nagging, Elsa told a small, white lie: she was casually seeing someone sheād met on a dating app. That dinner at Anna and Kristoffās house had never been more memorable. They both jumped at the chance to tease her and congratulate her. After all, theyād long assumed she would end up alone.
āElsa, I have to meet him!ā Anna squealed, slamming the table.
āYeah, we have to make sure heās real,ā Kristoff added with a smirk.
A cold sweat ran down Elsaās back. āI-Iām not sure. Itās just so new,ā she stammered. āI mean, I want to make sure heāll stick around first.ā Elsa shoved a spoonful of food into her mouth to avoid answering more questions.
āWhatās his name? Whatās his job? Is he a lawyer at your firm? Whatās he like? Can he bake a chocolate cake? I wonder if he knows about your iced food obsession yet. I bet heās good-lookingācan I see a picture? Should we invite him to our engagement party this Saturday? YES! He should totally come to the party, Kristoff! Oh my gosh, Iāll add him to the reservation!ā Annaās excitement was endless.
Elsaās heart pounded, her cheeks flushed, and she was sure her shirt would have sweat stains. She took her time chewing her food.
Kristoff, noticing her discomfort while Anna spiraled into party-planning mode, took pity on her. āWhy donāt we just meet this guy at the engagement party?ā he suggested, nudging Anna. āKnowing Elsa, she wonāt spill the beans unless itās serious.ā He turned to Elsa, locking eyes. āIt is serious, right? You never talk about anyone youāre seeing, so if you mentioned him, it must be serious.ā
Elsa froze under his gaze. He had to know she was lyingādidnāt he? āIāwell, I justāā
Anna cut her off. āWeāll meet him at the engagement party! I want to be surprised. Thatāll be your gift to me!ā
Elsa had enough. She stood abruptly, grabbing her plate. āWow, so much excitement over something so trivial. I should get going; look at the time!ā She gestured to her watch and hurried toward the kitchen, two dogs trailing behind her.
āOh, Elsa, donāt be like that. Iām just excited for you,ā Anna said, following her. āItās been so long since you talked about anyone you liked. I just want to meet him before you convince yourself to break up with him.ā
Elsa quickly washed her dish. āIām not sure why I even brought it up. Iām not the dating type. Iāll probably stop seeing him anywayāyouāre right.ā The words stung, but they gave her an excuse to back out of her lie.
She placed her plate on the rack and walked toward the door. Anna and the dogs followed close behind.
āI didnāt mean it like that. Iām sorry. You deserve to be happy,ā Anna said. āYou just donāt give anyone a chance, and Iāā
āAnna, itās fine,ā Elsa interrupted. āIāll bring him to the party this weekend. Thanks for the meal. See you then.ā She walked out fast, half running to her car.
From the doorway, Anna and Kristoff waved goodbye, holding back their dogs. āIām sorry! Iāll call you later!ā Anna called out.
āSee you on Saturday,ā Kristoff added, turning to Anna with a grin. āI bet you 50 bucks sheāll show up alone.ā
Anna swatted his arm. āPrepare to lose.ā
Elsa was doomed.
āļø The next morning, Elsa dragged herself to work, weighed down by her life choices. She just needed to call Anna and admit she lied. It was the only solution to her self-made disaster. Sitting at her desk, she stared at her phone.
āI just need to call her. Do it quickly,ā she muttered. Then she hesitated. āMaybe laterāsheās not a morning person. She wonāt be awake.ā The phone stayed untouched. āWhat if I call her during work? She canāt react loudly then. No, sheāll think somethingās wrong if I call her at work. Iāll wait until sheās off workābut then sheāll come to my house. Iām not ready for a face-to-face conversation.ā
Elsa was so absorbed in her muttering that she didnāt notice her coworkers trickling in.
āHey, Elsa, are you okay?ā Toothiana asked, knocking on her office door.
Elsa jumped nearly three feet into the air, letting out a squeak. āYou scared me!ā she exclaimed, clutching her shirt.
āSorry! You were muttering to yourselfāitās not like you.ā Toothiana leaned against the doorframe. āWant to talk about it?ā
Elsa glanced at her phone and then covered it with a loose paper, as if Anna could hear through the screen. āI kind of dug myself into a hole,ā she admitted.
Toothiana looked surprised. Glancing around at the bustling office, she stepped inside and shut the door. āAre you okay?ā
āYes, itās personal. Nothing to do with my cases,ā Elsa clarified quickly. Lawyers hated surprises.
Toothiana sighed with relief. āI thought for a second the Wilson case was compromised.ā
āNo, I just messed up, and itās spiraling out of control,ā Elsa confessed. āI told my sister I was seeing someone to get her off my back about being single. Now she wants to meet my nonexistent boyfriend.ā
Toothiana blinked, then started laughing. āOh, Elsa, thatās a pickle.ā
Elsa buried her face in her hands. āIt just slipped out! She kept talking about her wedding and asking if I had a date. I panicked and said I was seeing someone. Now sheās firing off questions and insisting I bring him to her engagement party!ā
Toothiana giggled, wiping away a tear. āThatās... something.ā
āI have to tell her I lied!ā Elsa groaned.
āMaybe I can help,ā Toothiana said, her eyes twinkling. āI know a guy who could use some extra cash. You could hire him as a date.ā
Elsa froze, processing her words. āHire a date?ā she repeated slowly. āLike... an escort?ā
āNo, no!ā Toothiana laughed, choosing her words carefully. āHe picks up odd jobs for extra money.ā She winked.
Elsa considered it. Hiring someone for one night could solve her problem. Then, after the party, she could tell Anna it didnāt work out. The more she thought about it, the more it seemed like the perfect escape.
āWhatās his number?ā
