Happy to be completing this piece for @gauntletgallery 's 12x12 exhibition, opening March 11! 😊 I love the look and feel of paper, and I wanted to translate that to a structured format. So I meticulously cut and scored to wrap a sealed 1.5" deep panel in 300 gsm paper. That was almost as tedious as the drawing. 😂 I was so in love with the wrapped panel as an object itself, making that first pen mark was so hard! I also became increasingly aware of the fact that I can't erase / paint over. 😱 Don't worry, everything worked out ok. 👌🏻 I've since finished and am super happy with the result! Took advantage of the beautiful weather today and walked Dequindre Cut! 🙌🏻☀️ If you've been following for awhile, you know how much I love to hike and draw when at home in LA, so this helped fill a bit of that void. 😊 // I've been doing a series of little drawings as I'm exploring my new surroundings, documenting where I drew them on the back.
