So I did a bit of research about the language of the fan and found a miscommunication on this part (correct me if I'm wrong pls?). The flirt option indicated that the MC wants to be alone with Annabelle yet what she actually communicated through drawing the fan across the cheek was 'I love you'.

To paraphrase MC, maybe I'm bad so other people don't have to be. (And I do love it because I love angst and heartbreak and what they can tell you about a character)
If you want something very different, here are all of the proposals.
Aerin
Imtura
Mal
Nia
Tyril
Valax
Characters I believe are genuinely okay: Aerin (I'm just as surprised as you are), Imtura, and Valax. I think Mal and Nia are getting there. Tyril I have concerns for.
Mira had somehow convinced you to join them on a patrol, she wasn’t sure how, but she had, and Zoey was practically buzzing over the prospect to work directly with you.
She had been looking forward to getting to know you better since you agreed to work with them, but she just never had the chance. There was always something or another coming up, and when she did have time, you seemed busy or preoccupied.
But then Mira had texted the group chat letting them know that she was bringing you along for the patrol, and Zoey had been so excited.
And, okay, maybe she had half-expected something to come up and you to bail at the last minute, but you proved her wrong because when Mira arrived at the meeting spot, you were trailing after her with a bag hung over your shoulder.
Rumi had stiffened when you’d approached—which, weird. Zoey supposed she was just having the hardest time adjusting to your involvement. Which, again, weird, considering it was her idea to work with you.— but beyond that flinch, she’d been cordial as she greeted you, and you just as curt in your response.
Obvious tension. But that was fine. Nothing Zoey hadn’t dealt with before; compared to the cold wars her parents would have, this was a walk in the park.
As the group moved, Zoey trailed behind, keeping watch in the back while observing the others in front of her. There was a lot you could learn about a person from how they moved.
Take Rumi, for example. She took point, as she always did, staying a few steps ahead of them as she walked, peering over each corner and into each alley. Always on high alert, always ready for something to jump out of the dark.
She was anxious, she was single-minded in her focus, and she was paranoid. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop, always expecting a threat, some kind of danger, always guarded. She wouldn’t relax again until they’ve made it back to the penthouse safe and sound—and even then her walls would stay up.
Meanwhile you and Mira were walking side-by-side, chatting like old friends. That was new, and Zoey wondered just what happened when Mira went to visit you to have garnered this kind of familiarity.
Zoey could only make out a few of the words you two spoke of. Something about hoodies and inner stitching. She wasn’t quite sure what that was about, but carefully filed it away for things she’d pester Mira about when they were home.
But it was nice seeing you relaxed. You seemed comfortable with Mira in a way you hadn’t been the last time she saw you.
As you walked, you kept one hand hovered right over the flap of your bag, clearly ready to dive in at the first sign of trouble and retrieve—well, Zoey didn’t know what you would pull out, and the mystery of it added to the fun, the wonder.
But as the night progressed, they didn’t find even the slightest whiff of trouble, and so the contents of your bag, tragically, had remained a mystery.
In fact, it had been a rather quiet night. Which was good, Zoey wasn’t complaining that there weren’t any demons out, no demons meant safer people, she’d have to be crazy to want to see them.
But, it was a quiet night, as she had already said. The only thing there was to note was how…antsy…Rumi had been from the very start. Zoey had noticed it immediately, the way she was stiff in her movements, always looking over her shoulder, the air of dread hanging around her.
Instinct was that Zoey asked her what's wrong, find out what’s bothering her—but she didn’t want to come across as smothering, as confining. Give her space, let Rumi come to her when she’s ready, if she asked then she’d just get angry. They always do. Zoey just had to be patient.
Even if that patience never paid off, even though Rumi never came to her with her problems despite how long they had been together.
But that was okay!
So it hadn’t come as much of a surprise when, after forty minutes of stalking the streets, that Rumi decided it’d be best if they split up to “cover more ground.”
Unsurprising, but still plenty weird.
They never split up on a patrol unless they had to. Usually because they were fighting a demon and one was trying to get away.
Zoey had glanced to Mira and saw her confusion mirrored. But neither of them argued.
Rather, before Rumi could say more, Zoey had hooked her arm around yours, raising her other in the air. “If we’re splitting up, then I want to go with her!” Zoey declared as the others looked at her. “I mean, it’s only fair. Mira’s already gotten her turn, now it’s mine.”
Never mind that Rumi clearly wanted to be as far from you as humanly possible.
“I mean, I don’t have a problem with that,” Mira said slowly, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked you and Zoey over, as if trying to calculate whether yours would be a workable pair or not. “Rumi?”
Rumi nodded just a little too quickly, “Sounds wonderful! You guys can take the west side, Mira and I can take east,” she said, equally quickly as she began backing away. “We’ll meet back up at Namsan Tower in…two hours?”
“Two hours!” Zoey echoed.
With that, Rumi began speedwalking away from you.
Though Mira lingered, she watched Zoey and you a moment longer. “I trust you’ll be able to handle whatever comes but…” her expression softened, and in turn Zoey’s heart did as well as she rested her hand on Zoey's cheek, “Don’t hesitate to call out if you hit trouble.”
Nuzzling into her palm, Zoey couldn’t help the breathy giggle that escaped her. “We’ll be fine,” that wasn’t the answer Mira wanted, so she tried again. “But, if I run into something I can’t handle, you’ll be the first one I call.”
“Good.” She leaned down to press a kiss to Zoey’s other cheek before walking away to catch up with Rumi.
And then it was just her and you.
You met her gaze, tilting your head and raising a single brow. “So…” you began in a low drawl. “Are patrols usually this…tense?”
Ah, so you noticed.
Of course you would have. The tension was painfully thick. Anyone would have noticed!
Zoey offered a nervous laugh as she slowly let go of your arm, letting you take a step or two back. “It’s not usually like that. Rumi’s just…” she didn’t even know how to explain it, how could she when she didn’t know what was wrong with her? “It’s usually a lot more fun and lively than this, I swear!”
“Uh-huh.”
“Right! Well, let’s get to patrolling! Those demons aren’t going to kill themselves! Well, they might. That’d make our job a lot easier, actually. But that’s actually pretty morbid when you think about it, it’s not like I want anyone to do that, demon or not. But it’s something of a moral conundrum, huh?”
Before she knew it, Zoey was rambling about the ethical dilemma of demons killing themselves versus the ethics of her killing them herself.
You didn’t say much as the two of you walked, glancing this way and that, but your head was always titled towards her, offering hums in reply.
Zoey felt her smile tighten. This was going poorly. You didn’t care about demon ethics. “Sooo,” she said, trying to switch topics. “Where are you from?”
“Oh?” You asked. “I grew up in Gamcheon. Though I haven’t been there in a while.”
She could have cheered, this was it, an actual, proper conversation, and one where she could learn about you! This was good! Great, even!
“I’ve never been to Gamcheon—I mean, we’ve gone through it a few times for tours or events, but never actually stopped there,” Zoey said, and tilted her head, “Why haven’t you gone back and visited?”
You shrugged, “I pretty much got kicked out,” at Zoey’s aghast expression, you quickly amended, “It’s not as bad as it sounds. I was eighteen, I had finished my training. My parents decided it time that I set off on my own. And so I did—travelling mudang, creating charms for heartbreak and wards for demons wherever I went.”
“I mean, at least you have fun with it, right?”
“Hm,” was your response, a noncommittal hum as you continued to walk.
Was that a good hm, or a bad hm? Did you enjoy what you did or not? Zoey didn’t think you disliked it, but she hasn’t seen a lot of your mudang-shamanism-spirit medium stuff beyond the charms you were selling when they found your shop. Maybe you secretly hated all this and were only doing what you did out of obligation.
Was this something you chose to do or were forced to do? Would you have picked something else if you could have? Zoey had so many questions, but you gave no sign that you were going to answer or elaborate on any of them.
Okay, so, that was a small roadblock, but at least she had made some progress with you, so that was good!
Rather than let silence wash over the two of you, Zoey took up talking to fill the air. She needed to talk, it made the night feel less awkward, made it easy to ignore her own tension.
She found herself talking about her own hometown as a result—after all, Zoey had asked about where you were from, it was only fair that she talked about where she came from in return.
Of course, she was careful, didn’t want to chase you away by unloading all the childhood trauma on the first date and whatnot.
She alluded to how lonely she had been, being the only Korean kid in her class and such, but only briefly, before making a violent U-Turn on the road of tangents to talk about how she found her mom’s collection of Sunlight Sister’s CDs one day (while desperate to find something loud enough to drown out her parents fighting, but you didn’t need to know about that) and had become immediately obsessed.
Oh, those were good days.
Zoey had gone to every music store she could just to get her hands on all their albums. She’d filled her room with posters of the band, watched all their recorded interviews and live performances on YouTube.
The Sunlight Sisters had been her inspiration. She wanted to be pretty like them, she wanted to shine as bright as them. They got her through some of her roughest days back then.
Hell; Zoey could still remember her first breakup—if a two-week relationship that only existed at school could be called that—and crying while listening to one of the Sunlight Sisters singles, telling herself how those three would never hurt her like her middle school boyfriend had.
Just imagine how dazed she had been when Celine approached her after a rap battle she had signed up for, she had genuinely thought for a moment that she’d died, because, hello??? THE Celine was scouting her?!?
But you had barely said a word through it all, your eyes constantly on the move as the two of you walked.
Oh—oh Zoey was annoying you, wasn’t she? Her ears started to burn as she clamped her mouth shut.
Right, right, most people didn’t like when others kept chattering on and on, you probably wanted to focus on the patrol, on keeping an eye and ear out for demons. Zoey was probably just distracting you by yammering about pointless things like she was.
Fuck, she was screwing this up so badly. She’d been trying to hard, and now you were probably thinking she was just the annoying one who didn’t know when to shut up.
Way to go, Zoey, she berated herself. You let your excitement get the best of you again.
“Something wrong?”
She flinched when your voice cut through the night’s air, instinctively shrinking in on herself for half a second before bouncing right back. The picture-perfect smile spread across her face, just like all the smiles she gave her fans even when she was tired to her bones.
“What? Wrong? What do you mean? Nothing’s wrong. Did you think something was wrong?” Zoey, shut up, you’re talking too much again.
You were looking at her with furrowed brows; mouth twisted in concern. “Yeah, clearly nothing is wrong,” dripping didn’t even begin to describe how heavy the sarcasm was coming down. “You stopped talking, why was that?”
Zoey flinched, fiddling with her hands, carefully avoiding your gaze as her smile grew tenser, “Oh, no reason. I just know this probably isn’t all that interesting,” her voice dropped, growing quieter, “didn’t want to bore you or anything.”
You tilted your head. “You weren’t boring me.”
Her head snapped up to look at you, eyes wide with surprise—and a dash of hope. She hadn’t? No, you were just saying that to spare her feelings, right? But what if you weren’t.
With a languid shrug, you continued, your tone even, casual. “I mean, it’s funny how your bi awakening ended up becoming your mentor years later. But I do want to hear more about what it was like living in America.”
Oh.
There was no fighting the grin that spread across Zoey’s face—or the floaty feelings in her chest—even if she tried.
With that, Zoey launched back into it, her smile so wide her cheeks were hurting.
She talked about how she used to cut across her neighbors yards all the time to get home from school faster, how she ended up being chased by a dog for an entire block because of that, and how she got the scolding of a lifetime from her parents after too many neighbors complained.
There was an apple tree outside her family home that she’d spend half her time in. Sitting in the branches where no one could see her, with nothing but a CD player or MP3 player and her notebooks, listening to her favorite Sunlight Sisters songs and writing her own thoughts and songs.
She fell from the tree once, and broke her left arm. That arm was still the weaker of the two even now.
And you continued to listen, your gaze always on the surroundings, but Zoey realized through the way your head was always tilted towards her, the slight nods you gave, that you were listening.
Sometimes you even threw in questions of your own, like if In-N-Out Burger was real or just an urban legend, and “What the hell even is a ‘California Roll’?”
As far as Zoey was concerned, this was going spectacularly.
“So,” Zoey said, walking backwards so she could face you while they talked, and maybe to show off how good she was at walking backwards. “What’s up with you and Rumi? Do you know why she always looks like she wants to run the other way when you’re around?”
It’s weird, she thought, yet again. Zoey wasn’t going to complain about you working with them, you were cool—and she still stood by that you were cute—but for Rumi to have brought forth that idea and then act like she regretted it every minute after? It didn’t make sense!
“Nope,” you said, popping the ‘p’ sound. “I’ve not the faintest idea why,”
A wicked grin spread across her face. ‘Nope?’. Oh, that was absolutely the tone of someone who knew why!
But before Zoey could press for answers, you’d stopped and raised your hands.
“Is something wrong?” Zoey asked, echoing your earlier concern, but then she followed your gaze and felt her chest tighten.
The Honmoon.
There along a wall, it wasn’t a full tear, not yet at least.
But the way the translucent blue had begun to shift towards a more violet hue made it clear that it wouldn’t be long until the strands snapped, giving demons a new opening into the human world.
“A weak spot,” Zoey murmured as the two of you approached it. “That’s not too bad. We’ve a show in a few days and that’ll seal it back up.” She hoped she sounded convincing. It didn’t matter how much time passed, how long she’d been a Hunter—seeing the Honmoon grow weak always filled her with anxiety.
“Sure,” you nodded, kneeling on the dirty concrete and opening your bag. “But we can reinforce it a little, now, help it along until you seal it.”
Reinforce? Zoey blinked down at you, head tilted to the side. “What—but you don’t have a,” her words faltered. “I thought only Hunters could use the Honmoon?”
“I’m not using the Honmoon, at least not in the way you’re thinking,” came your response as you began pulling out different vials. Liquid, salts, ingredients that Zoey didn’t have the words for. “But I’d be a pretty awful mudang if my spiritual powers did nothing for the Honmoon.”
A pause, your hands growing still over one of the glass vials as you looked up at her. “…You do know about reinforcements, right?”
“Right, yeah, of course I know what those are,” Zoey said quickly, lying with her whole chest, because no, she had no idea what you were talking about, and was frankly afraid to admit it.
Thankfully she didn’t have to, because you caught on and sighed.
“Right…well, obviously only a Hunter’s song can actively make the Honmoon stronger,” you said, uncapping one of the vials and giving it a swirl. Zoey could faintly smell something sweet coming from it. “But anyone with spiritual abilities can fortify it. If we couldn’t, the Honmoon would have shattered before Huntrix debuted.”
Huh—well, Zoey had wondered how the Honmoon managed to stay standing for almost twenty years without any active Hunters beyond Celine to sing.
“So… you guys were keeping the Honmoon running all that time?”
“Kind of,” you hummed. “There are rituals we can perform that can slow the Honmoons decay until the Hunters are able to fortify it through their songs. It’s not a permanent solution, it’s like… putting a band-aid on a stab wound.”
You waved the vial a little as you talked, and for a moment Zoey worried you might spill it. “It might help in the immediate moment, but that does nothing for the long term. The root cause—the wound—still needs to be treated. We just slowed the decay, gave it a little boost, but the Honmoon still needs the Hunters to heal it.”
“That’s pretty cool.”
She meant it, too. She hadn’t even considered that others might be able to effect the Honmoon, let alone tend to it. Celine had never made mention of it during their training, and a part of Zoey wondered if she even knew.
Of course she knew, Zoey corrected herself, she’s Celine, she knows everything, of course she would have known that the Honmoon was being protected and strengthened by others all this time. That’s why she was never worried. That’s why she was always so confident.
Crouched next to you, Zoey watched with rapt attention as you poured the vial over the wall, right where the weakened patch of the Honmoon was, before blowing some of the powder onto it next. You clasped your hands together like you were praying, whispered something that she couldn’t catch—
The Honmoon responded in turn. It began to glow, a faint, gentle pulse like that of a heartbeat. The violet of the weak point began to fade back into blue.
It wasn’t the bright blue of the rest of the cords, still diluted with its fragility, but it was no longer as vulnerable.
“That’s so cool,” Zoey whispered, eyes wide.
You laughed—an actual laugh!—as you slowly pushed yourself back to your feet. “I’m surprised you didn’t know about that. I figured you Hunters would be trained in all the rituals by now.”
Oh, you had to be joking. “Us? We’ve got our songs and our weapons, come on,” Zoey waved you off with a laugh, “we can’t do that.”
“You three are shamans, too. You should be able to do all the same things I do.”
…What?
You continued, closing the flap of your bag like you hadn’t just sent her reeling. “I get it your training focused on the Honmoon, on music, because that’s what’s more important for your field. But—” You paused, scratching the back of your neck. “I mean, if you ever want to learn some purification rituals or repellant charms, I’d be happy to teach you.”
Turning to look at her, your brow furrowed again as you turned back to the Honmoon, bringing your hand up to your mouth. “Actually, you should really learn this one in case something happens. I mean, what if something happens and one of you can’t sing for a while? Can’t just hope the Honmoon will be fine on it’s own while one of you is recovering from the flu or something.”
You were still talking, but Zoey’s mind had latched on to that one thing. That apparently she, and the others, could perform rituals and charms, too.
That was—
Huh.
The rest of the patrol had gone by in such a blur, Zoey needling you about what you meant by that, and what sort of charms you could teach her, if you were joking or serious. She hadn’t even realized how much time had passed until they had reached Namsan Tower and you were saying goodbye.
Her entire body felt like it was buzzing.
Because, holy shit??? She could make demon-repelling charms??? Why didn’t Celine ever tell them that?!
“Zoey, you okay?” Rumi asked when it was just the three of them again.
She blinked, snapping back to the here and now as her two favorite people stared at her with a mix of concern and curiosity. Zoey wasn’t sure where to even begin.
Tell them about how you and her bonded—because you had totally, absolutely, bonded!—or about the fact that apparently you three could do more than summon weapons from the Honmoon and fight demons with songs.
So Zoey settled for grabbing them both by the hand, her smile stretched so far her cheeks hurt.
“She’s going to teach me rituals to reinforce the Honmoon! And maybe some to repel demons. Oh! I wonder if I can get her to teach me good luck charms—I’m sure those are a thing. I’d cover myself in so many of them that I’d be blessed with so much good luck that demons are just tripping into my knives!”
It was clear on Mira and Rumi’s faces that they didn’t know what Zoey was talking about, but that was fine! She could explain it to them later, when the excitement cooled down!
But right now? Hands down, this had been one of the best patrols she had been on in a while! She couldn’t wait to hang out with you again!

Polytrix loves Y/N, but she is with someone else. Someone who doesn't treat her the way they should. They try to help her, but will that ruin their friendship?
I wrote this with my own experience with APD (Auditory Processing Disorder) and ADHD. Everyone experiences it differently. I personally use hearing aids to help as that is a treatment recommendation.
Also, this is like 11,000 something words? I'm sorry it's so long.
Warnings: Language, Domestic Violence, Violence in General, Internalized Homophobia, Bad Parenting
Everyone knew that Y/N was the friend of the notorious, triple threat. Mira, Zoey, and Rumi had practically dragged her into their trio on the first day of college. Mira was abrasive. Zoey was goofy. Rumi was quiet. The thing was, everyone knew not to mess with them. Who would? Three alphas who were obviously fated mates. A powerhouse. So, when they started hanging out with Y/N, an omega, people noticed. People talked. Y/N just didn’t let the rumors get to her. She always brushed them aside and acted like nothing was happening. Besides. Y/N had a boyfriend.
Y/N sighed as she looked over her schoolwork, trying to make sense of the math before her. It didn’t make any sense to her. She hated it. There was a soft tap on the table and she looked up, seeing Rumi standing there. The purple-haired woman pointed at her ear and Y/N slid her headphones off. “Hi.”
“Hi. You look like you’re struggling. Need help?” Rumi spoke. Y/N glanced at her papers with a scowl.
“I hate math,” Y/N grumbled. Rumi chuckled and took a seat beside her.
“Let’s see what you got,” Rumi smiled. She looked over the problem and then grabbed her pencil, slowly working the problem out before her. Her lips moved as she spoke and Y/N tried her best to follow what she was saying and what she was writing. It was hard with all the background noise of the common area. “…got it?”
“Huh?”
“I asked, did you get it?”
“Um, yeah. Totally,” Y/N nodded. Rumi raised and eyebrow at her, making her scratch her head. “Okay, no. I could barley follow you.”
“That’s okay. We can move somewhere quieter. Will that help?”
“Maybe.”
“She could also be using her very fancy hearing aid,” Mira spoke up. Y/N tilted her head back, seeing the unamused look on the pink haired woman’s face. “You’re supposed to be wearing it.”
“It’s not like I can’t hear.”
“I know, but it’s supposed to help block out the background noises. Help you focus on what we are saying.”
“I’m going to cock a what boy?”
Rumi choked on her laugh and Mira raised an eyebrow at her. Point proven. Y/N grumbled and grabbed her hearing aid case, slipping her hearing aids on.
“Okay, try again.”
“They are supposed to help block out the background noises.”
“Ah, well that makes more sense than what I thought,” Y/N blushed. Mira rolled her eyes and took a seat on her other side.
“No shit,” Mira huffed.
“Let’s try that problem again, okay?” Rumi asked. Y/N nodded and looked back at the paper. It was easier listening to Rumi. Easier focusing on her voice. “Make sense?”
“More or less? I think I got it,” Y/N nodded. Rumi held out the pencil to her with an encouraging smile.
“Try it,” Rumi smiled. Y/N took the pencil from her and worked through the problem. Rumi pointed things out as she went, but mainly let her work the problem out. When she finished, Rumi beamed at her. “You got it!”
Y/N blushed and Mira ruffled her hair. “Hey!”
“Amazing what happens when you can hear her,” Mira teased. Y/N stuck out her tongue at the woman as arms wrapped around her from behind. She tensed, earning a soft growl from Mira. “Zo.”
“Sorry!” Zoey exclaimed, immediately letting her go. “I should’ve said something before I grabbed you.”
“It’s alright,” Y/N assured, turning to see Zoey holding a drink.
“Ah! This is for you!” Zoey exclaimed, holding out the drink. It was a boba drink. “I was going to get you coffee, but I know it makes you sleepy. So that kind of defeats the purpose of helping you stay awake to study.”
“Thank you. You know I love boba,” Y/N smiled. Zoey beamed down at her and if she had a tail, Y/N was certain it’d be wagging. “Are you going to sit?”
“Nope! I’m hitting the skate park with Mystery for a bit. I was just coming to say hi.”
“Oh. Well, hi? Nice seeing you?”
“Do you want to come with?” Zoey asked. Y/N shrugged and looked at Mira. The woman gave her a patient smile and she looked back at Zoey who was also waiting patiently.
“Huh?” Y/N questioned. Zoey merely tilted her head at her and she finally processed what she had said. “No, that’s alright. I have things to do.”
“Like study?”
“Mhmm,” Y/N nodded. She sheepishly looked away, cursing her head. As if having ADHD wasn’t hard enough, she had to deal with APD (auditory processing disorder). The hearing aids helped, but only so much. She had to still decode what people said to her and that took her time. Time that the three women always gave her. “Go have fun.”
“We’ll keep her company,” Rumi chimed in. Zoey beamed and booped Y/N’s nose.
“Don’t work too hard!” Zoey exclaimed. She moved to her girlfriends and gave them a quick kiss before hurrying off. Y/N sighed and messed with the device behind her ear. Gentle hands stopped her and she glanced at Mira.
“Want to get out of here? Take a walk?”
“That’d be nice,” Y/N smiled. Mira returned the smile and helped her pack her bag before slinging it over her shoulder. “You don’t have to—“
“I want to,” Mira shrugged. Rumi stood and the three of them headed outside. It was far quieter outside. There was a gentle breeze too which was nice. “Are you coming to our game next week?”
“I don’t know. Maybe?” Y/N answered. Mira and Rumi were both on the soccer team. They always invited her, but she hardly said yes. It was too loud at the games.
“It’s being streamed. So you don’t have to come if you don’t want. You can watch from your dorm,” Rumi spoke. Y/N nodded and they walked the familiar path that led them to the fountain on campus. “Do you want to come eat lunch with us?”
“I have to finish studying.”
“You need a break. Studying too hard won’t help you.”
“I vote break,” Mira spoke. Y/N frowned and looked up at her. “What?”
“I don’t want to bake.”
Mira chuckled and fully faced her. “Break. Not bake.”
“Ah…that makes more sense,” Y/N mumbled. She calculated the amount of money she had in her savings account,, remembering how she’d spent most of it earlier this month on bills. She didn’t have enough to just go get food. “I’ll have to pass.”
“Boo,” Mira booed.
“Mir, be nice,” Rumi huffed. Y/N stuffed her hands in her pockets. She’d been saying no to them a lot. More than normal. She couldn’t help it though. She didn’t have the money. “Your next class is in an hour, right?”
“Yeah.”
“We’ll walk you there,” Mira spoke. Y/N felt a knot form in her stomach. Her boyfriend wouldn’t like that. He didn’t like it that she hung out with them at all.
“T-that’s okay! I can walk myself!”
“Don’t be a doofus. Our class is in the same building as yours. We’re going in the same direction,” Mira argued. Y/N reluctantly nodded and she followed them to cafeteria where they grabbed a small snack. They shared their fries with her and she felt guilt eating it. Zoey had already gotten her a drink. Now they were feeding her. They spent time just sitting there and Y/N wondered what she’d say to Y/B/F. He wasn’t going to be happy with her.
When the time was up, the walked her to class. She smelled Y/B/F before she saw him. His muskiness was fairly distinct.
“Y/N/N!” He greeted, running to meet her. His pheromones poured from him, engulfing her in his smell. Rumi and Mira merely waited for them to be done hugging. “I was wondering when you’d get here! Thanks for bringing her. Hope she wasn’t too much trouble.”
“Not at all,” Rumi answered. Mira held out her backpack and Y/B/F grabbed it. “Let me know if you need more math help.”
“I will. Thank you,” Y/N thanked. She watched them go and Y/B/F’a grip tightened around her. She winced and glanced at him, seeing the glint in his eyes.
“I told you to stop hanging with them.”
“I tried to tell them no.”
“Sure you did,” he scoffed. He dropped her bag on the ground and pulled the hearing aid from her ear. “Take those stupid things off. It’s not like they help. You’re still slow.”
Y/N bit her lip and quickly took the one from his hand before removing the other one. She slid them into the case then put them in her backpack.
“Hurry up before we’re late.”
“Okay.”
The next day, Y/N sat with Rumi, sketching in her sketchbook. They were sitting in the purple-haired woman’s apartment while Rumi practiced her music.
“So, there’s this cyclops right and Odysseus tricks him into drinking wine that is filled with a lotus. But before it can take effect the cyclops kills some of his men. Then it falls and he has his men stab it in the eye, which, ow that would hurt. Then the cyclops goes crazy again and other cyclopses come to help him and ask who hurt you and he’s like, nobody and they’re like, oh then be quiet. Odysseus then acts like a doofus and tells the cyclops his name which then seals his fate with Poseidon and…why are you looking at me like that?” Y/N rambled, looking up from her sketchbook. Rumi was staring at her with a bewildered, fond look.
“I just like listening to you talk about something that you like.”
Y/N blushed and covered her face with her sketchbook. “I’m sorry, I was rambling again. You don’t want to hear about my weird obsession with Epic the Musical. Who does? It’s not that exciting and I’m rambling again.”
A gentle hand pulled her sketchbook down and she was met with kind, brown eyes.
“I think your rambling is cute. Especially when it’s about something that you like. You get this little…spark in your eyes when you talk about things that get you excited,” Rumi gently spoke. She sat back and picked up her guitar. “There’s a song you talked about that I liked.”
“Which one? I’ve talked to you about two sagas.”
“The one with Athena.”
“Oh! Well, there’s two of them. The first one is Warrior of the Mind and the second one is This is My Goodbye.”
Rumi nodded with a hum, strumming the melody with her guitar. “This right?”
“Yeah, that’s right!” Y/N exclaimed, listening intently. Rumi was talented with her guitar. It wasn’t what she was majoring in, but she did still play. And her singing voice sounded like an angel.
“Did you want to keep telling me about the sagas?”
“I…no. That’s okay,” Y/N smiled. She didn’t want to annoy Rumi with her rambling. The woman was too nice. She’d never tell her to shut up.
“You sure? I’m invested now.”
“I’m sure. You could always just listen to it yourself.”
“It’s not as fun as when you sit there and explain it, or when you start singing it at the top of your lungs.”
“…you just want to hear me screech.”
“I would never do such a thing. Your voice isn’t even that bad,” Rumi chuckled.
“Compared to you three? It sucks.”
“We’ve also had lessons and my mom was a musician. Doesn’t count,” Rumi shrugged. Y/N huffed and went back to her sketchbook. Doesn’t count her butt. They were amazing. They could be professionals if they wanted. “Can I speak freely?”
“Don’t you always?” Y/N teased, looking up at Rumi. The look in her eyes made her teasing die on her lips. She was serious. She put her sketchbook down and gave the woman her full attention. “Shoot.”
“You said Y/B/F was out of town for a few days.”
“I did.”
“Have you noticed how much happier you are when he’s gone?” Rumi asked. Y/N flinched and clenched her hands. Was she? Yes, she didn’t feel the need to avoid her friends, but that had to be why. Nothing more. “You haven’t been the same since you started dating him a year ago.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m the same.”
“Not really. You hide yourself more.”
“I don’t—“
“You wear clothes that make you uncomfortable. You don’t eat out, like, ever anymore. I hardly see you with your sketchbook anymore and you used to use that literally everywhere. That’s why you carried that Pokemon backpack with you for the longest time. You aren’t even wearing your hearing aid, even when you know it helps you.”
“One, I like the clothes I wear. Two, I’m just trying to save money. I don’t have time to keep sketching when I have school work and who even carries a Pokemon bag anymore? It’s childish…” Y/N argued. She thought about the last thing Rumi had said and frowned. “It’s not like the hearing aids help that much. It doesn’t help me think faster.”
“Y/N, you aren’t childish for wanting a Pokemon bag. Have you seen the bag Zoey carries? There are cartoon turtles on it. No one is going to care. You should be able to be comfortable. Clothing and hearing aids included,” Rumi countered. Y/N clenched her jaw. This felt like an interrogation. She didn’t like it. Rumi’s pheromones tentatively reached out. “I’m not trying to make you uncomfortable or upset. I’m just…worried about you.”
“I’m fine! Why don’t you believe me?” Y.N snapped, glaring at the woman. She was fine. She’s always fine. There was a look of pity in the alpha’s eyes. Rumi reached out, brushing her thumb under her eye.
“Is that why you’re crying?” Rumi softly asked. Y/N pulled back, wiping at her eyes. When had she started crying?
“If you weren’t interrogating me, I wouldn’t be!” Y/N exclaimed. She stood from the beanbag and glared down at the woman. “You don’t get to just, say things like that. That’s not fair, Rumi.”
“Mira and Zoey are worried about you too.”
“Well, stop worrying about me! I’m fine! I don’t need three nosey alphas in my business!”
“Y/N—“
Y/N angrily shook her head and grabbed her jacket. “I’m leaving.”
“Wait, hold on it’s getting late. At least wait for Mira or Zoey to—“
“I said I’m leaving!” Y/N snapped, stomping to the door. Rumi reached out and her soft touch didn’t feel soft. It felt suffocating. She yanked her hand free and growled softly. “Back off.”
Rumi held up her hands with a worried look on her face. “Please, wait for Mira or Zoey to take you back to your apartment. It’s getting dark.”
“No,” Y/N shook her head. She quickly opened the door and ran from the apartment. Damn it all. Rumi had no right saying those things. No right at all! She was wrong. Things were fine. They were always fine. Her foot slipped on the last step and she would’ve face planted if strong arms hadn’t caught her.
“Y/N? What’s wrong?”
Y/N looked up, seeing Jinu. “I…I just—“
“Are you heading back to your place?” Jinu softly asked. Y/N nodded and he gave her a small smile. “Okay. Can I walk with you? I have to go that way anyways. I’m meeting Aby and the others.”
“…alright,” Y/N reluctantly answered. She fell into step beside the man, taking comfort in his presence. He was a beta. Level headed, unlike Rumi. He didn’t ever pry too much either. “Thank you.”
“For walking with you? You’re doing me a favor. I didn’t want to walk alone.”
“Am I different to you?” Y/N asked. She looked up at Jinu, seeing the confused look on his face. “Rumi said I am.”
“Hmm, is that why you’re walking out on your own?”
“Yeah…I didn’t want to stay and she wanted me to wait for Mira or Zoey. Said it was getting late and that I should wait.”
“Well, she’s not entirely wrong. It is getting late. Mira would be preferred, but even Zoey would be a good option in walking you back.”
Y/N stuffed her hands in her pockets. “You’re supposed to be on my side.”
“As your self appointed older brother, I am on the side that will keep you safe. In this instance, Rumi is right. But that doesn’t mean she always is. That woman can make some stupid decisions,” Jinu argued. He had no clue. Her words still rang through her head. Made doubt creep into her heart and mind. “I’m going to talk to you as a brother, not a friend, okay?”
“I guess.”
“As long as you are happy, that’s all that really matters. You can be different and be happy.”
“That’s what I was trying to say to Rumi.”
“…are you happy?” Jinu questioned. Y/N paused and stopped walking. Not him too. She was ready to protest when he shook his head. “Hey, I’m not trying to start an argument with you. You don’t have to answer me…but, you’d tell me if you needed me, right?”
Y/N lightly punched his shoulder. “I kind of have to, right? Big brother and all that stuff.”
“You don’t have to do anything,” Jinu smiled. He locked her in a headlock and messed with her hair.
“Jinu!”
“Your hair was already messy! I’m trying to fix it!”
“I’m gonna punch you in the face!”
“Like you could reach it!” Jinu laughed. Y/N kicked him in the shin, making him release her with a yelp. “Ah, shit!”
“Serves you right!” Y/N laughed. She felt lighter with the laughter. More relaxed. Leave it to Jinu. They’d known each other since elementary school and he always kept an eye on her. He was always there for her.
“I think you broke my shin.”
“I did not! You’re such a baby,” Y/N protested. Jinu smiled at her and pretended to limp. “You are something else.”
Jinu walked her to her apartment, and she waved bye to him before heading up the stairs. She was lucky Y/B/F was gone for a few days. She’d be able to wash away the scent of both Jinu and Rumi. She slid the key into the apartment and opened it, being greeted by a low growl. This day just keeps getting worse.
Point of View Change, Zoey
Zoey was trying to be discrete as she waited outside of Y/N’s apartment complex. They hadn’t seen her for a week now. She hadn’t even responded to any of their texts. It was weird. When her and Mira had returned to their apartment that night, Rumi had told them what happened. They both reprimanded her for bringing things up to Y/N the way she did and they all tried contacting her. Nothing. Not a peep. She’d even missed the class her and Zoey had together. That wasn’t like her.
The door to the apartment building opened and Zoey perked up, seeing Y/N. She looked tired. Quickly, but carefully, Zoey hurried to catch up to her.
“Hey! Y/N!” Zoey yelled. Y/N flinched but stopped, glancing back at her. There were bags under her eyes. “I got the work you missed. You know how the professor gets if you don’t turn things in. He’ll stand there and lecture all about how important school is.”
“Thanks,” Y/N whispered. There was a look to her that made Zoey worry. She was nervous. Scared too.
“Did you get sick? Is that what happened?”
“Yeah. Got a cold.”
“Gross…are you feeling better now?”
“Yeah, much better,” Y/N lied. Zoey knew she was lying because she didn’t meet her gaze. She hadn’t since she walked up to her.
“Can I walk you to class?”
“What?”
“Walk you to class,” Zoey slowly repeated. Y/N stared at the ground while she processed what she asked. The woman shrugged and turned on her heel.
“Not like I can stop you from walking with me. We are both heading to campus.”
“I could wait a little if you wanted.”
“It’s fine,” Y/N waved off. She started walking and Zoey fell into step beside her. She kept glancing at her, trying to figure out what was going on. What was bothering her? She wanted to pry, but she didn’t want to overstep. Rumi had done that already. They turned a corner and as they did, Zoey saw it. Slight darkness from too much make-up. Zoey stopped walking and stared at Y/N as she continued walking. She’d imagined that. She had to have. There’s no way…but maybe there was. Y/N was walking with a slight limp. The woman stopped and glanced back at her. “Why’d you stop?”
Zoey opened and closed her mouth before glancing around them, looking for somewhere secluded. There was a large tree that would block them from view. “Come here.”
Zoey headed to the tree and heard Y/N follow her. Her steps were unsure. Her movements slow. The moment they were at the tree, Zoey led them behind it and turned to face her. “Let me see.”
Y/N furrowed her brow at her in confusion and she waited. She hoped Y/N understood what she was asking of her. Her Y/E/C eyes widened in shock. “I-what? See what?”
“Y/N…please?” Zoey pleaded. Y/N took a shaky breath and nodded, giving Zoey permission to touch her. She carefully reached out, tilting the woman’s chin up. At the angle change, she could see more of the discoloration. The way Y/N had tried to cover it up. She glanced at Y/N’s face, seeing the way she squeezed her eyes shut at her touch. “Your leg?”
“Twisted my ankle,” Y/N mumbled. Zoey moved her hand to the discolored spot and Y/N flinched at the contact. Zoey retracted her hand in record time.
“What happened?”
“Zoey…”
“What. Happened?” Zoey firmly asked. She needed to know. She needed to know she was wrong.
“…he wasn’t out of town,” Y/N softly spoke. Zoey clenched her fists and jaw. The woman before her chuckled darkly. “He doesn’t like it when I hang out with you three. I-I took the wrong jacket home that night.”
Zoey remembered that. That had been her jacket. The one she’d left beside Y/N’s when she left. “He did this?”
Y/N merely nodded and Zoey growled. How dare he? How fucking dare he?! Y/N whined and wrapped her arms around herself, pressing her back against the tree.
Zoey’s anger immediately died. She dropped to her knees, looking up at her. “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Y/N shook slightly and Zoey rested her head on her thigh, being mindful to not let her pheromones loose. Being mindful to not let her smell cover more than that spot.
“Don’t go back to him. Please. Not if he’s hurting you. You don’t have to go back to him. We’d protect you. We would.”
“It’s not that simple.”
“It is. You just…walk out.”
“Zoey, get up. Please? This isn’t very alpha of you.”
“I don’t care about being an alpha. I’d give it all up for you,” Zoey argued. She lifted her head, looking up at Y/N. “Trust us. Trust me. You always used to.”
Y/N took a shuddering breath and averted her gaze. She was contemplating. Thinking too hard. She opened her mouth when her phone rang. It made them both jump and Y/N scrambled to pick it up. “Hello? Yes. I…okay. I’ll head there now.”
Y/N hung up the phone and slid it into her pocket. “I have to go.”
“Y/N,” Zoey whined, gently grabbing her wrist as she tried to walk away. “Please. I-I hate seeing you get hurt.”
“…then don’t look,” Y/N murmured. She turned, giving her a broken smile. “Stop looking and you won’t have to see it.”
Zoey stared at her in shock and she didn’t stop her as she pulled away. She couldn’t. All she could do was watch. Watch as she slipped from her fingers. She felt like a child again, losing the one she loved.
The days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to a month. They hadn’t talked to Y/N. Rumor was that she’d dropped out of school. No one really knew. Zoey was losing her mind. Rumi and Mira too. They wanted to find Y/N. Their sweet, kind Y/N. Their friend…and something more. They yearned for her. Wanted her to complete their pack. Their family.
Zoey sat in the stands, watching the soccer game. She wanted Mira and Rumi to win. They’d been training so hard and this was the last game of the season. After this, they’d be on break. After this, they could take time to themselves. They’d be able to finish their studies for the semester while also searching for Y/N. They just had to win this. The score was looking favorable. There wasn’t much time left on the clock either.
“Yes! Kick their ass!” Zoey exclaimed, watching as Mira flawlessly scored another goal. The pink-haired woman blew her a kiss as she ran back to her team, Rumi waving as well. They were such goofs. A familiar scent caught Zoey’s attention and she stood, searching the stands. She knew that scent. She’d know it anywhere. There! Hiding in the shadows. Y/N had a beanie over her head, jacket pulled tightly around her shoulders. Zoey scrambled down the bleachers, keeping her eyes on Y/N as she went. A group of men surrounded her and one of them grabbed her by the arm, pulling her away. Zoey shoved her way through the crowd and followed Y/N’s smell around the back.
“You little shit! I told you, you weren’t allowed to come out!” a voice yelled. Zoey heard Y/N gasp and she turned the corner as Y/N was thrown to the ground. “Are you listening to me?!”
“Get the fuck away from her!” Zoey roared, charging into the fray and slugging him across the jaw. He staggered back and Zoey crouched above Y/N, bristling with anger as she did. Y/B/N spit out the blood in his mouth with a growl of his own.
“The little alpha,” he sneered. The other men around them chuckled and Zoey glanced between them. Half a dozen. She’d be fine. She could take them. She’d fought more on the streets of America. “What do you think you’re doing here? Can’t you see we’re talking?”
“Zoey?” Y/N gaped. Zoey glanced back at her, seeing her busted lip.
“It’s alright. I’ve got you,” Zoey assured.
“You really think you can take six of us? You’re delusional,” Y/B/F chuckled.
“A bunch of knotheads? Yeah, I think I can manage,” Zoey taunted. The alphas growled and charged. Zoey dodged the first one, nailing him under the chin and knocking him unconscious. Her next hit was directed at a groin, and she was satisfied when he cried out. They were stupid. Coming at her one at a time. They were cocky which would be their downfall. Y/N gasped, and Zoey twirled, seeing her being dragged by her hair. “Let her go!”
A blinding pain coursed through her body, and she froze, unable to move. A solid punch to her stomach made her collapse in further pain. A foot slammed into her head, forcing her face into the concrete.
“Idiot. You aren’t as tough as you think,” Y/B/F laughed. Zoey growled up at him, seeing the man standing beside him. He was holding a damn taser. Cheater. He cracked his knuckles, and Zoey tried to get her body moving. “I’m going to enjoy this.”
Point of View Change, Rumi
Rumi thanked the other team, feeling pride in her own team for winning. They’d done good. They’d won. She glanced up at the stands, looking for Zoey and not seeing her. Where’d she gone? She’d normally be running down there to congratulate them.
“Where’s Zo?” Mira asked.
“I don’t know.”
“Rumi! Mira!” Jinu shouted. They turned, seeing the panic on his face. They ran and the beta was trembling. Not a scared trembling. An angry trembling. “Come on!”
He turned and ran, his friends falling into place around them. Mira and Rumi followed them, running towards the back of the stadium. The smell of Zoey’s blood caught her attention and Mira snarled beside her. Someone was hurting her! They rounded the corner and Rumi’s blood ran cold. Zoey was on the ground and Y/N was fighting for something in her boyfriend’s hands. He was shouting at her, yanking enough to make her stumble. Rumi saw the glint of the knife before it slashed at her. The smell of her blood filled the air and Rumi lost it.
“NO!” Rumi howled. Y/B/F kicked Y/N back and the woman fell to the ground, clutching her arm. Zoey screamed and Mira roared beside her. Even Jinu and his friends roared in challenge. Y/B/F turned, paling as he did. Rumi cleared the distance between them and slammed her shoulder into his chest. He stumbled back and Mira punched him square in the face. The satisfying sound of his nose breaking filled the air. He crumbled to the ground and Mira slammed her foot into his groin for good measure. Rumi dropped beside Y/N, frantically taking in her wounds. That was a lot of blood. Zoey crawled to them with Mira dropping beside her.
“Shit,” Mira cursed.
“Y/N!” Zoey exclaimed. Jinu ran to them, pressing his wadded-up jacket to her arm. Y/N cried out and kicked him in the gut, making him growl.
“Ow! I’m trying to help you!
“That hurt you jerk!” Y/N exclaimed.
“Sorry, sorry! I need to stop the bleeding,” Jinu apologized. He pressed harder and Y/N whimpered, making them growl.
“You’re hurting her!” Mira shouted.
“I know that! Pressure is good. We need to do the same for that head wound,” Jinu spoke. Rumi looked at Y/N’s face, seeing the gash above her eye. Blood was dripping into her eye and it was squeezed shut in annoyance. Mira took off her jersey and sat behind Y/N, letting her lean back against her before she pressed it against her forehead. The woman hissed at the feeling and Mira softly apologized.
“Why couldn’t you just let me handle things?” Zoey seethed.
“You were tased and couldn’t move. What was I supposed to do? Let you keep getting kicked in the face?”
“Would’ve been better than you getting stabbed!”
“I didn’t get stabbed. I got slashed. There’s a difference,” Y/N argued. Rumi growled and leveled them both with an annoyed look.
“Stop arguing. You can go at it after we get you two to the hospital,” Rumi scolded. They both looked away and Jinu chuckled.
“I can drive you three to the hospital. Unless you’d rather take an ambulance.”
“Y/N?” Rumi asked.
“I guess Jinu,” Y/N mumbled.
“Okay, little sis. Let Rumi carry you while Aby and Mira help Zoey.”
Y/N nodded and Rumi carefully picked her up, carrying her bridal style. She was light. Far too light. They needed to get her to the hospital.
At the hospital
Rumi carefully watched Zoey get checked out, making sure she didn’t try and leave before it was over. She mainly had major bruising and a split lip from where her tooth had caught it. Healing wouldn’t take long for her. The woman kept trying to bribe the nurse to let her leave, much to everyone’s amusement.
Finally, Zoey was released and they hurried to the room Y/N was being treated in. Mira was outside the door, being held back by Aby and Romance.
“Hey!” Rumi shouted, making them turn. “What do you think you’re doing?!”
“They aren’t letting me in!” Mira shouted.
“That’s because you’ll make it worse! Jinu has it!” Aby argued. Mira growled and pushed against their grip.
“Let us in!” Mira snarled. Aby glanced back at Rumi, giving her a pleading look.
“You don’t know them. Jinu does and he’s trying to help. But if you all go in there, then it could go badly.”
“Who’s them?” Rumi questioned.
“Her parents,” Romance answered. He grunted as Mira went to head butt him, barely dodging her. “Stop it! If Jinu needs back up, he’ll call to us.”
Rumi was ready to argue with him again when they heard it. The distinct sound of a skin meeting skin. A slap. The smell of Y/N’s blood washed over them and Rumi was moving. Zoey too with Mira practically throwing the boys aside. They slammed the door open, making the occupants jump. Jinu was standing between the bed and the adults, baring his teeth at them as he did.
“Who are they?” the man questioned.
“Her friends,” Jinu growled. He never moved his eyes from them, but his posture slightly relaxed. “I’d suggest you take a step back, unless you want to lose a hand. They won’t just bare their fangs at you.”
The man’s pheromones rose, and Rumi bristled at the feeling. Alpha. He was challenging them, and they weren’t going to back down. Not when they could smell Y/N’s blood. Not when they could practically taste the omega’s fear in the air. Her pheromones rose to the challenge, Zoey and Mira joining her. They were careful to not let it overwhelm Y/N and Jinu, focusing on Y/N’s parents instead. The woman immediately offered her throat in submission while the man continued to try and fight them. Zoey moved first, taking a step closer to him and bristling as she did.
“Back. Off,” Zoey snarled. Mira joined her and squared her shoulders, rearing for a fight.
“We won’t ask again,” Mira threatened. Rumi met the man’s gaze, daring him to try something. She itched to fight just as much as her girlfriends. They’d fight to protect Y/N. They’d do what they had to. The man scoffed and stepped back.
“We were already leaving,” he growled. He grabbed the woman beside him, dragging her to the door. “Don’t you ever show your face again.”
He slammed the door shut behind them and they stopped releasing their pheromones. They let Jinu’s try to soothe the room and turned to address him. He looked pissed.
“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t know they’d come. I didn’t,” Jinu angrily apologized. He clenched his hands and growled softly. “I didn’t know. They barged right in and she allowed it.”
He stepped aside and they rushed to Y/N’s side. The omega was staring blankly at her hands, blood dripping from her re-split lip. “He broke the pack bond.”
Rumi twirled, looking at the beta in shock. They all had a pack bond with their families. One they would keep until they formed their own packs. The bond between packs was sacred. Soul level deep. Having it wrenched away from them was supposed to feel like dying. “No…”
“I don’t know how to fix this,” Jinu sadly spoke. Rumi looked back at Y/N, seeing Mira and Zoey crowding around her. Talking softly to her and trying to help. They wouldn’t reach her. They couldn’t fix this. Not right away. They couldn’t form a pack yet. They weren’t ready, but she had an idea.
“Watch them.”
“I will.”
Rumi quickly left the room, taking out her phone as she did. She dialed the number and walked slightly down the hall, making sure she could still see the room. Jinu’s friends were standing guard by the door, practically jumping anyone who came close.
“Hello?”
“Omma? I-I need help. My friend…our friend. She’s…her pack.”
“Breathe, little one. Where are you?”
“The hospital.”
“Text us the address and we’ll be there as soon as we can.”
“Thank you,” Rumi sighed. She hung up the phone and texted the address before taking a deep breath. She needed to be levelheaded. Needed to be the reasonable one. As much as she wanted to go after Y/N’s parents and beat them to a pulp, she couldn’t do that. She had to stay by their side. Help them. Help Y/N.
Three hours later, Rumi jumped to her feet at the sound of a knock. Mira and Zoey growled from their spots by Y/N and Rumi held out her hand to them. She kept her hand steady as she went to the door, opening it and sighing as she did.
“Omma. Eomeomi,” Rumi greeted. Her mothers, Mi-Yeong and Celine stood at the door. Mi-Yeong cupped her cheek and she leaned into the touch. “Thank you, for coming.”
“Of course. What has happened?” Mi-Yeong asked. Rumi glanced back at the bed where Mira and Zoey still stood guard.
“Y/N’s father broke the pack bond between them,” Rumi answered. Mi-Yeong tensed and Celine let out a soft growl.
“Why?” Celine asked. Jinu cleared his throat and stood from his spot in the corner.
“Y/B/F contacted them. Told Y/N’s parents that she had cheated on him and broke his trust. Sent her friends after him and hurt him. They tracked her phone and showed up here, believing everything he said. Neither of us could convince him otherwise,” Jinu explained. Celine looked at Rumi and she shook her head.
“No. We wouldn’t do that. We never did anything with her. We defended her after he tried to hurt her. Zoey went after him first and his lackeys pulled a taser on her. They beat her while she was down, and Y/N fought back to help her. Y/B/F used a knife on her before we got to them,” Rumi explained. Celine bristled and looked to Jinu.
“Where is this boy?” Celine asked.
“I’m unsure.”
“Mi-Yeong, do what you can and must. I’m going to make some calls,” Celine spoke. Mi-Yeong nodded and she looked at Rumi.
“May I see her?” Mi-Yeong asked. Rumi turned and walked to the bed, making Mira and Zoey tense. She knew they weren’t tensing because of her. They were tensing because of the omega behind her. The woman who took them in and raised them as her own. “Easy. I’m not here to hurt her.”
Mi-Yeong’s pheromones filled the air and Rumi felt herself relax. Felt the tension leave her body. Mira and Zoey shivered, bodies relaxing too. Her omma was like that. Her pheromones always brought comfort to everyone. Made even the toughest of them weak in the knees. She walked up to the bed and Zoey instinctively backed away, letting her closer. Y/N hadn’t moved since her parents had left.
“Hi, little one. You must be Y/N. The girls never stop talking about you,” Mi-Yeong gently spoke. She took a seat on the chair that Zoey had previously occupied. “I am sorry that you’re going through this. I understand how it feels.”
Y/N flinched at that and Rumi crossed her arms. Her omma had been kicked from her pack as well.
“I would’ve been lost without Celine. Her pack gave me a place,” Mi-Yeong hummed. She placed her hand on the bed beside Y/N’s clenched one. “If you want, we have a guest room you could stay in. At least while you heal. A safe place for you to rest your head. I can assure you; no harm will come to you there. I do hope you’d be okay with having four alphas. The girls like to push Celine’s buttons, and they will randomly start wrestling in the middle of the kitchen. Bunch of terrors those four are.”
“O-Omma!”
“We don’t wrestle all the time…”
“Last time I kicked their asses,” Mira deadpanned. Rumi glared at her. That was a lie. Celine always won.
“If I recall, you ended up with a face full of flour and a bowl of cracked eggs on your head,” Mi-Yeong smiled. Mira blushed and crossed her arms with a grumble.
“I slipped.”
“Sure, that’s what happened.”
“She slipped because she saw Rumi’s abs! She was ogling them and didn’t look where she was going!”
“Zoey! They don’t need to know that!”
“Awww, you were checking out my abs? That’s adorable!”
“I will hit you.”
“Ooohhh, kinky as always!” Zoey teased. Rumi and Mira both blushed, Mi-thong muttering how she didn’t need to hear that. Rumi glanced at their friend, seeing the small smile tugging at her lips. The embarrassment was worth it if Y/N smiled.
“What do you say? Would you like to stay with us for a time?” Mi-Yeong asked. She held out her hand to Y/N and they waited with held breaths. Rumi wanted her to say yes. Hoped that she would. She released a relieved sigh when Y/N gently took her mother’s hand.
Point of View Change, Mira
Mira stretched, waking to the Sun hitting her face. She hadn’t been sleeping well. It’d been a few weeks since they returned to Celine’s estate and a few weeks since they told the college they were leaving for a family emergency. Celine had called the school and Mira didn’t question how she convinced them to allow them to finish classes online.
Their room was across from Y/N’s never wanting to be far from her. One of them was always nearby. It was the least they could do considering they’d failed her once already. Rumi blamed herself for bringing up the situation in the first place. Zoey blamed herself for not being able to convince Y/N to leave Y/B/F and not being able to protect her that day. Mira blamed herself for not fighting harder against Aby and Romance to slug Y/N’s father in the face. She was furious with the man. He’d hit Y/N, then took the bond from her. As if she hadn’t gone through enough already.
Mira sighed and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She looked down at Zoey and Rumi, noting that they were both sound asleep still. She leaned down and kissed their heads before sliding from the bed. Since she couldn’t sleep, she’d go for a walk. Quietly, Mira slid on sweats and a t-shirt, along with her socks. She closed the door to a crack and felt the need to check on Y/N. Her door was cracked, which was not normal. Mira moved to the door, peeking inside. Y/N had her arms wrapped around her knees, face hidden under her arms while she rocked herself. Mira could feel the panic from the woman. Carefully, Mira entered the room. “Y/N?”
Y/N whined and Mira caught the scent of her fear. That wasn’t good. She hurried to the bed and dropped to her knees, staying lower than Y/N. Make it look like Y/N had all of the power in the situation, which she did. She could tell her to jump off a cliff and Mira would do it.
“Y/N, what’s wrong?” Mira softly asked. Y/N shook and clenched her arm tighter, making Mira worry. She’d make it start bleeding again. “Y/N, what do you need?”
Y/N held out her hand and Mira took it, squeezing it tightly. “I-its loud.”
“What is?”
“E-Everything,” Y/N whimpered. Mira hated seeing her this way. She didn’t know what to do. “I-I had a nightmare. It hurts. It’s too loud.”
“Can I hold you?” Mira asked. She waited for Y/N to tell her no. Waited for her to pull away like she had been for the last month. But to her relief, she nodded. Mira quickly and carefully got on the bed, wrapping her arms around Y/N. She maneuvered her to rest her head on her chest, making sure to not hold her too tight. “Focus on me, okay? Focus on my heartbeat.”
Mira sat there, grounding her in a way that normally worked for Zoey and Rumi. She wanted to use her pheromones too, but she didn’t want to scare Y/N. “I’ve got you. You’re safe.”
She held Y/N until her breathing evened out. Held her until her body stopped shaking. Her body relaxed against her, and she ran her fingers through Y/H/C hair. Y/N hummed in content, snuggling closer to her. Mira lied back, carefully bringing Y/N down with her. She kept the omega on her chest and kissed the top of her head.
“Rest. I’ve got you. If you have another bad dream, I’ll punch it in the face.”
Y/N chuckled and clutched her t-shirt. “You can’t punch a dream.”
“For you? I’d find a way,” Mira swore. She reached over and pulled the blanket there over them. A new issue arose as she listened to Y/N’s breathing slow. She couldn’t move with the woman on top of her. She had to stay still or she’d wake her up. A walk was out of the question.
It was an hour later when Mi-Yeong walked in. She quirked an eyebrow at her and Mira gave her a pleading look.
“Help,” Mira whispered.
“You could just get up.”
“And risk waking her? Not a chance.”
“Ah, then don’t be complaining.”
“I really have to pee.”
“Hmmm, that is a predicament.”
Mira stared and Mi-Yeong and the woman just stared at her in return. Dang it. “I’ll do the dishes for a week.”
“Deal,” Mi-Yeong chuckled. She leaned down and ran a soothing hand along Y/N’s arm. “Little one? Time to get up. I need to check your wound.”
Y/N whined and curled closer to Mira.
“None of that. I need to check your wounds,” Mi-Yeong spoke. Mira wiggled underneath Y/N uncomfortably. “Plus, she really needs to pee.”
Y/N looked down at her and she felt a deep blush come to her face. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I liked holding you,” Mira mumbled. Y/N smiled down at her and she blushed harder when the woman cupped her face. She hadn’t felt her touch like that in a long time. She’d missed it. The gentleness and caring.
“Go to the bathroom, you doofus,” Y/N giggled. Mira felt her chest warm at the giggle. Gods, she’d missed that sound. Y/N rolled off her and Mira quickly rolled off the bed. She ran to the bathroom with a dopey smile on her face. She was glad that she’d missed that walk.
Later, Mira found Y/N sitting below the dangsan, staring out into the open fields. She was leaning against the tree, relaxing. She watched her with a sad smile. Her eyes didn’t shine like they used to. Her demeanor sad in a way that broke Mira’s heart.
“Are you going to just stare at me?” Y/N asked. Mira hummed and walked over to her, taking a seat on the grass.
“I was just admiring how the Sun made you look.”
“Oh? And how did it make me look?”
“Like a squirrel,” Mira jested. Y/N scoffed and ran her hand through her hair. “Don’t worry, you’re a cute squirrel.”
Y/N sighed and rested her head on her shoulder. They sat in silence for a time, with Mira keeping still. She didn’t want to scare her. Besides the earlier predicament, this was the closest she’d been to Y/N since before her argument with Rumi. Before Y/B/F had hurt her and scared her. “You’re thinking too hard.”
Mira hummed and took her hand, running her thumb along her knuckles. “I was thinking about that music you liked. The musical? How you enjoyed it a lot. I watched it a few times and I get why you like it. It’s catchy.”
“Ah…”
“Did you know that Rumi is trying to learn more of the songs?”
“Did I know Rumi was bribing the gongs?” Y/N questioned, sitting up. Mira tilted her head at her, watching the gears turn in her head. Her eyes widened and she lowered her head. “I’m sorry. That was wrong, wasn’t it?”
“You don’t need to apologize. It’s alright,” Mira assured. She reached out and paused when Y/N flinched. “There’s nothing wrong with what you said. You tried your best.”
Y/N shook her head and tangled her fingers in her hair. “Trying isn’t good enough.”
“It is.”
“No, it’s not!” Y/N exclaimed. She closed her eyes with a grimace. “H-he hated when I couldn’t figure things out. Hated when I was too slow. He-he just…he hated it,” Y/N rambled. Mira held out her hands before her, keeping them open.
“You aren’t with him. You’re here with us. You can take the time to think. Take all the time that you need.”
“I’m stupid! I-I can’t do anything right! My head, it goes too fast. Everything goes too fast and then I can’t process what’s being said! All the noises just jumble together. Everyone’s voices just mix together and it’s all mumbled. I-I can’t, but I try. I always try, but it’s never enough for anyone. It’s never enough,” Y/N ranted. Her breathing was starting to become erratic, and Mira could see the beginnings of a panic attack. She let her pheromones rise, just slightly. Y/N flinched and she lowered herself, getting under her eyesight. Staying below her eye level. Mira didn’t submit to just anyone. Not even to Rumi and Zoey. But if doing that calmed Y/N, then she would.
“Y/N, breathe for me. Please,” Mira pleaded. Y/N’s eyes met her own and she could see the pain in them. See the way she tried to slow her breathing. Mira took the chance, leaning up and wrapping her arms around her. Y/N shook against her and pressed her head against her chest. She needed to breathe. She needed to calm down before she worked herself up. Mira moved her mouth to Y/N’s ear, speaking softly. “Breathe, omega. Breathe.”
Y/N took a shuddering breath and Mira sensed rather than saw Zoey and Rumi. They took a seat behind Y/N, pressing gentle hands against her back. Pressing against her with worry prominent on their faces.
“You can do it. Deep breaths,” Zoey coaxed.
“You’re alright,” Rumi assured. The three of them kept Y/N between them, giving her ample room to run if she needed to, while still staying close. The woman started to breathe slower, and her hands moved to wrap around Mira, pulling her closer.
“You’re doing amazing. Keep focusing on us,” Mira soothed.
“I-I’m sorry,” Y/N mumbled. Zoey and Rumi scooted closer to them.
“Don’t apologize.”
“You have nothing to apologize for.”
“Can Zoey and Rumi hug you too?” Mira asked. Y/N nodded, and they wrapped their arms around her. The tension in the woman’s shoulders went lax as they cuddled against her. “You have nothing to apologize for. Nothing at all. You hear me?”
“He—”
“He’s an idiot,” Rumi growled. Y/N turned her head, looking back at the purple-haired alpha. Rumi cupped her face with determined brown eyes. “You have nothing to apologize for. So, you sometimes don’t get what is said right away. You always figure it out in the end.”
Zoey tilted Y/N’s head towards herself, giving her a small smile before she rested her forehead against hers. “Your light was dimmed by him. That joy you’ve always had, silenced. You aren’t with him anymore. You don’t have to hide.”
“My father. My pack. It’s gone,” Y/N whimpered. Mira knew the feeling of being cut off from your pack. The same things had happened to her when she was growing up. Things had been bleak for a long time. She’d almost given up when she met Zoey and Rumi. When the two alphas refused to leave her alone in that dirty, high school bathroom. Celine and Mi-Yeong had welcomed her into their pack with open arms, giving her a family again. Mira pressed her hand to Y/N’s chest.
“I can’t say it won’t hurt. It’ll always hurt that your family left you. That they cut you out. But you aren’t alone. We’re here. Jinu and his friends too. We are all here for you. If you can wait. If you can wait for us, then we’ll be your pack,” Mira spoke. Y/N turned, looking at her with wide eyes. “We’ve always wanted you to be in our pack. To be with us.”
“We can’t start our pack yet, but you were the only other person we wanted. The only one we’d let join. You’re our missing piece,” Zoey added.
“What are you saying?” Y/N questioned.
“It’s probably the worst time for me to be telling you this, but I love you. I always have. From the moment we met you that rainy day. When you slipped running down that wet hill and literally swept us off our feet. I fell for you when you tried to wipe the dirt from our clothes, even when yours were worse,” Rumi confessed. Her and Zoey hugged Y/N from behind as Mira dropped her forehead to her shoulder. “I love how you ramble. How you find joy in the goofiest of things. How you keep making me listen to the musical that I have no clue what is happening, but I just like listening to you.”
“I for one love how you try to fill in the gaps in our conversations, even when they are completely off. I love how you smile when you do and how your laugh makes my heart flutter. I love how you always indulge me while I ramble and when I get lost in my own head,” Zoey confessed next.
“I love how you make my heart warm. How you try to cook but absolutely fail. How you stick your tongue out when you are concentrating. I love how you can quote the movies you love and how when you laugh too hard, you snort. Or how you drool when you’re really tired,” Mira confessed. She let her pheromones rise, wrapping Y/N in it, feeling her girlfriends do the same. They wanted her. Wanted her in every way, but if she were to say no, they’d respect her. “We love you.”
“Why didn’t you say something sooner?” Y/N gaped. Mira lifted her head, seeing the tears in her eyes. “Why didn’t you…why now?”
“You were with Y/B/N. We weren’t going to ruin your relationship because of our own feelings.”
“I-I only said yes, because I thought no one could love me. I only said yes, because my parents approved of him and were proud of me for the first time in my life,” Y/N sadly recounted. She squeezed her eyes shut and they felt her unease cut through their pheromones. “I thought if I stayed with him, things would eventually get better, and I wouldn’t feel wrong. That I would feel…normal.”
“What do you mean, normal?” Mira gently asked.
“You know…straight,” Y/N murmured. Zoey and Rumi exchanged worried looks before looking at Mira. She felt anger spike in her chest. Anger towards Y/N’s parents. Anger towards Y/B/N. She cupped Y/N’s face, lifting her head so she would meet her gaze.
“There is NOTHING wrong with you. Do you hear me?”
“Mira—”
“No. I need you to understand that there is nothing wrong with you. The only thing wrong here is how your parents treated you. How Y/B/N treated you. They made you feel like you didn’t deserve love. That you didn’t deserve to be happy. You deserve the world. You deserve to be happy and loved.”
“But they—”
“Fuck what they said,” Mira growled. Y/N’s eyes widened, and Mira rested her forehead against the omega’s. “They know nothing. You are an amazing, kind person. You put everyone else before yourself and you deserve all the love in the world.”
“Love that we would give you, if you gave us a chance,” Zoey nodded, resting her chin on Y/N’s shoulder. “We can be better than him. Treat you better.”
“They have no control of you. Not anymore. You are free of them,” Rumi assured, resting her head on her other shoulder. Y/N’s tears fell as she stared into Mira’s eyes. As she listened to Zoey and Rumi speak to her. Mira could see the doubt that still swam in her gaze and she swore she’d make Y/N believe them.
Another month passed, with Mira, Zoey, and Rumi showing Y/N how much they loved her. The spent every waking moment showing her that they loved her. From waking her slowly in the morning with gentle words and soft hands. From plating her food and ensuring she had enough to eat at all times. They bought her all-new clothes, replacing the ones she had left behind. They made sure they were clothes Y/N wanted and not someone else. When Y/N asked for art supplies, it was Celine who bought them for her. Mi-Yeong taught her to play the piano when she’d asked and slowly, Y/N began to open up again. She laughed more. Genuinely laughed. Her eyes sparkled in amusement and happiness. She started joking more with them and relaxing when given the chance.
They’d gone to bed late, and Zoey was sprawled out with Rumi draped over the younger woman. Mira always slept so she could see the door. Always attentive to keep her girlfriends safe. Mira heard the door to her room creak open and she sat up, seeing Y/N standing in front of the door. The omega looked nervous as she pulled her blanket tighter around herself.
“You alright?” Mira softly asked. Y/N shrugged and fiddled with the edge of the blanket.
“I um…c-can I sleep in here? I don’t want to be alone,” Y/N answered. Mira smiled and beckoned her over.
“Course you can!” Mira beamed. Y/N gave her a shy smile and came to the edge of the bed, looking down at them. Mira scooted away from Zoey, patting the spot she had made for her. “I hope you don’t mind us using your blanket. Zoey and Rumi are hogging the comforter.”
“I was going to sleep on the floor.”
“Uh, no you aren’t. The floor is uncomfortable. There’s a perfectly good-sized bed here,” Mira countered. She held out her hand to her with a tilt to her head. “Plus, it’s nice and soft.”
Y/N hesitantly nodded and crawled onto the bed. She lied down beside Mira, sighing as she did. Her body sank into the bed as she curled up tighter in her blanket. “It’s warm here.”
“That’s because I was lying there.”
“It smells like you,” Y/N hummed, closing her eyes as she did.
“A good smell?”
“Yeah, a good smell. You smell like…smoke and cherry blossoms.”
Mira chuckled and propped her head up with her arm. “That’s a strange combo.”
“It’s your smell,” Y/N shrugged. She opened her eyes, making her heart skip a beat. There was that look again. The loving one that Y/N had been giving them lately. One that made their stomachs flutter and their hearts warm. Y/N shimmied closer, undoing her blanket to wrap it around Mira too. With it covering the two of them, Mira could smell Y/N. She loved her smell. She smelled like home. Y/N cuddled up against her chest, pressing her nose to her chest. “I like your smell.”
“Weirdo,” Mira teased, kissing the top of her head. She wrapped her arms around her, pulling her close. “For the record, I like your smell too.”
Y/N giggled, and her pheromones rose. A sweet smell. One that was relaxed and full of emotions. Zoey and Rumi stirred from beside them, yawning as they did. Mira glanced down at the omega, seeing the embarrassed smile on her face. “Oops.”
“What were you trying to do?”
“N-nothing,” Y/N stammered, burying her face against her. Mira smirked down at her.
“Were you…trying to scent me?”
“N-no! I wasn’t…I just, gah! Shut up!”
Mira laughed and her laughter made Y/N groan.
“Are you cuddling without us?!” Zoey exclaimed, sitting up with a pout. Mira stuck her tongue out at her and pulled Y/N closer. “That’s not fair!”
“Oh, Y/N is here. Hi, Y/N.”
“Hi, Rumi.”
“Mira! Don’t hog Y/N!” Zoey whined. Mira turned and brought Y/N with her, putting her back to her girlfriends. “Hey!”
“What? I didn’t do anything,” Mira countered.
“She’s going to pounce,” Y/N warned. Mira opened her mouth to respond when she felt the bed dip. That was all the warning she had before Zoey was on her. The smaller alpha wrestled with her, trying to reach Y/N.
“Stop hogging her! I want cuddles too!”
“You’re going to crush her, you dork!”
“Then share!”
Y/N laughed as they argued, Mira being mindful to not accidentally roll onto her. She pushed Zoey’s face away as she kept trying to reach for the omega.
“Miiraaa! You’re being mean!”
“Oh, stop whining!” Mira laughed. She felt the bed dip slightly before the warmth of Y/N was gone. She frowned and turned her head, seeing that Rumi was now between them. The purple-haired alpha yawned as she pulled Y/N against her. “Hey!”
“You two can keep arguing. I’m going to cuddle Y/N,” Rumi mumbled. Mira exchanged a quick look with Zoey before the two of them lunged. They tickled Rumi’s sides, making her squeal. “Hey!”
“You can’t just hog her now!”
“I had Y/N first!”
Y/N merely laughed harder as they wrestled with one another. It was music to their ears. Mira pinned Rumi down and Zoey took that chance to leap at Y/N, hugging her tightly.
“Got her!” Zoey laughed, kissing her forehead. Mira grabbed the smaller alpha by the back of her shirt and pulled her back. “Nooooo! I just got her!”
“Stop being clingy!” Mira scolded. Y/N sat up and crawled towards them, making them all pause. They watched as the woman made her way to them and Y/N pushed on Mira’s shoulder, forcing her off Rumi. She merely allowed her to and Y/N lied on her chest. The omega let her pheromones rise, soothing them.
“No more wrestling. Time for bed,” Y/N yawned. She pressed her face against Mira’s throat and the alpha rumbled in content. She flipped off Rumi and Zoey, earning a pout in return. Y/N pinched her side and she yelped. “Stop teasing them.”
Zoey and Rumi cuddled up against her sides, draping their arms across Y/N’s back.
“How did I become the body pillow?” Mira grumbled.
“You’re the comfiest.”
“Softest of us.”
“I am not soft,” Mira huffed, nuzzling as best as she could against Y/N’s head.
Rumi snorted and buried her face against her side. “Says the person who’s nuzzling against Y/N.”
“Next thing you know, she’s going to start scenting her,” Zoey giggled.
“I will push you two out of this bed,” Mira growled. Y/N pressed a kiss to her throat, making her shiver.
“I want them here.”
“…fine. I won’t kick them out,” Mira relented.
“Wow, you caved easily.”
“Aww! Mira will listen to Y/N!”
“Are you sure I can’t kick them out?”
The next morning, they were still glued to one another on the front porch. Y/N was doodling while Rumi practiced playing her guitar. Mira caught up on her book she had been reading and Zoey was playing a game on her phone. They were enjoying their time outside before it started to rain. It was a nice quiet. They were pulled from their quiet when a car pulled up. Mira put her book down, growling in warning. Rumi and Zoey tensed as well, while they put themselves between Y/N and the car. Jinu exited the passenger side door, with his friends following his lead.
“Jinu!” Y/N exclaimed, dropping her sketchbook to jump to her feet. She pushed by them and ran to the beta, jumping into his arms.
“How’s my sister doing? You okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Are they taking care of you?”
“They are,” Y/N nodded. Jinu smiled and put her down before they headed their way. He inclined his head in greeting to them, stepping a bit back from Y/N when they got closer.
“Thank you. For taking care of her,” Jinu thanked. He looked back at his friends, who stayed a reasonable distance away. They were being respectful of their territory. Respectful of their claim. “We got something for you.”
“You did?” Y/N questioned. Jinu nodded and held his hand out behind him. Mystery handed him a present bag before stepping back again. Y/N frowned and took it from Jinu, opening it. Her eyes widened and she looked up at Jinu.
“Your old ones were a bit broken,” Jinu smiled. Y/N took out the contents and Mira saw the familiar case in her hands. Her hearing aids. “Sorry it took us so long.”
“I-you guys bought this?”
“Yeah.”
“Why?”
“Because you deserve a pack that cares for you,” Jinu answered. He glanced back at them, and Mira saw the love in his eyes. The care there. She sat up straighter and he smiled. “You have a great pack in waiting and I’m really hoping they’ll let my pack join theirs. The boys and I are rather fond of them…even if they are a bunch of needy alphas.”
“What?! We aren’t needy!” Rumi exclaimed.
“You have a bunch of alphas too!” Zoey argued.
“My alphas aren’t as needy as you three!” Jinu argued. Mira ignored their bickering, looking at Y/N. The woman hadn’t looked up from the case in her hands. She hadn’t moved at all. Mira was worried she wasn’t breathing. The bag and case fell to the ground, making them turn to look at her. Y/N turned on her heel and ran. “Hey, Y/N!”
Mira jumped to her feet. “Come on!”
She ran after Y/N, hearing Zoey and Rumi following her. They chased after Y/N, worry eating away at her chest. Y/N didn’t run often. As if it weren’t bad enough, it had started raining. Not just a light rain either. A straight up downpour. She led them to the dangsan and Mira saw her foot slip. She rushed forward and cleared the distance between them, catching her before she could fall. Her own foot slipped and she cursed, turning her body to protect the woman from hitting the ground. She grunted as she hit the ground hard. Her vision swam slightly, and hands grabbed her face.
“A-are you okay?” Y/N stammered. Her eyes were wide with worry as she stared down at her.
“I’m fine,” Mira assured, sitting up with a wince. She grabbed the back of her head, feeling for any lumps. Maybe there was a bruise. Y/N reached her hand around and touched the tender spot, making her flinch from the pain. Her hand retracted and Mira could see the panic setting in. She took her hands in her own, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. “Hey, hey. It’s okay. You didn’t hurt me.”
“Mira! Y/N!” Rumi exclaimed. Mira held up her hand to them, stopping Zoey and Rumi in their tracks. She didn’t want them startling Y/N. With her free hand, Mira pressed it against Y/N’s chest. Her heart was beating erratically. Far too fast.
“It’s alright. You didn’t hurt me. I just slipped and fell,” Mira assured. She smiled at Y/N and brought her other hand around, brushing her hair out of her face. “Kind of like how I fell for you the first day we met.”
Y/N wetly chuckled and dropped her forehead against her own. “Doofus.”
“Guilty,” Mira grinned. She ran her fingers along her ears, making her shiver. “Why’d you run?”
“I got overwhelmed.”
“By?”
“By the love and care Jinu and his friends showed,” Y/N answered. She took her hands back and cupped her face. “By the love and care that you, Zoey, and Rumi show me.”
“You say that like we shouldn’t feel that for you.”
“You shouldn’t…but I’m happy that you love me,” Y/N smiled. Mira stared into her eyes and saw the mix of emotions in her gaze. She mainly saw acceptance. Y/N ran her thumbs along her cheeks before she pulled her close. Mira gasped as Y/N’s lips met her own. She quickly deepened the kiss and pulled her closer, holding her steady. She tasted sweet. Warm like a fire in a fireplace. She pulled away, beaming at her.
“So…you’re okay with us?” Mira questioned.
“I mean…I wouldn’t just kiss you to kiss you,” Y/N chuckled. Mira grunted as they were tackled to the ground. Right into the mud.
“I want a kiss too!” Zoey whined. She pouted as she looked down at Y/N. “Only if you want to though. I’m not going to make you cuz, that’s not right of me. But I really want to—”
Y/N grabbed the front of her sweatshirt and pulled her down into a kiss. Zoey squeaked in surprise and immediately sighed into the kiss. Mira chuckled and felt Rumi drop beside them. The purple-haired alpha smiled at the exchange, hair sticking to her face from the rain.
“Now I’m just left out,” Rumi chuckled. Y/N pulled away from Zoey and Rumi surged forward, kissing the woman. When their lips met, Y/N’s pheromones rose. The omega called out to them, circling around them as she hummed in content. She pulled away and the three of them wrapped their arms around her. Their pheromones joined hers, entwining them. Joining them. They couldn’t form a true pack bond yet, but they’d wait a lifetime for that moment. If every day was spent holding Y/N and bringing her joy and love, then waiting wouldn’t be so bad. Y/N was their omega, and they were her alphas. This was their pack. Their family and nothing would come between them again.

➤ author's note: i think it’s been like almost a month since i posted a fic oh my god
“you just love ruining everything for us, don’t you? it’s like you fucking get off on knowing that you’ve pissed me off.”
“aw, come on, mira! that award was rightfully ours, and you know it. besides, do you even realize how sexy you are when you’re all hot and bothered? i don’t know how the other girls haven’t gone crazy yet,” you giggled.
she gritted her teeth in annoyance, her grip tightening on your hips as she thrust into you, wiping the little smirk off your face when the head of her cock brushed up against the sweet spot that had you moaning. how was it even possible for you and rumi to be so drastically different even though you were both half-demon? one was utilizing her abilities to save the population from having their souls taken, one was manipulating the adoring crowds by abusing her siren-like songs to feed off their energy until they disappeared.
the first time your ancestry was discovered, huntrix had tried thousands of times to bring you over the good side, believing that, like jinu, there was an ulterior reason why you were doing all of this and that gwi-ma must have promised you something in exchange for all of the people you helped send to the underworld, but there wasn’t, at least none that you let them know about. as far as they were concerned, you were just another villain who was driven by nothing but a lust for power.
part of mira prefers it that way, it stops her from falling in love and keeps your relationship centered purely on physical attraction. if you weren’t such a bitch, she would have caught feelings faster than she learns new choreography. you do so much to piss her off, openly teasing her, getting on her nerves, giving her the “fuck me” eyes from across the room while dipping your tongue into your cocktail drink and rolling the stem of the cherry into a knot. you must have been bored out of your mind like the other members of your band to be provoking her so openly, so now, you’re both hidden away in one of the pristine restrooms as everyone else was too busy socializing and networking to hear what was going on so close to them with nothing but a locked wooden door separating them.
you let out another useless moan with your knuckles turning white at how tightly they were gripping the counter of the sink, feet barely even touching the ground as mira moved your body around however she pleased. your eyelids felt so heavy, but when you managed to open them to catch a glimpse of your reflection in the mirror, you saw your markings glow vividly through the slightly fogged-up mirror and the straps of your dress falling off your shoulders to expose your breasts. you didn’t even want to think about how you were going to clean and fix yourself up before leaving—
mira interrupted your thoughts with a sharp slap to your ass, making you yelp before turning your head to look back at her, “what the fuck was that for? are you trying to be loud enough for someone to investigate?”
“oh, shut up, we both know you would get even more turned on if someone walked in on us.”
“did you even remember to lock the door—”
“what, are you suddenly worried about getting walked in on? if that’s the case, then we can stop right now,” she decided, slowing her movements, which made you whine at the sudden lack of stimulation.
“are you really going to stop now?” you cried, “come on, mira, i thought you always finish what you start!”
“hm, i don’t know… maybe if you say the magic word…”
“what are we, six?”
“well, if you can’t just say a single word, then you probably just don’t want it enough.” this was so immature and stupid, something she learned from zoey, and the perfect way to get back at you for all of your non-stop teasing that has been going on ever since you met.
“fine! please, mira! i need you so bad right now, i can’t stand it!”
that was all she needed to hear, lifting you up by your waist to move you back in the position she originally had you in, thrusting her cock back into your awaiting core and relishing in the moans you were trying so hard to control. the pleasure was starting to build up again, even faster than last time as she maintained a fast and steady pace, her stamina as a dancer making itself known while your own legs were starting to tremble.
her hand snaked around your torso to rub at your clit in circular motions, making you clench around her at the jolt of what felt like electricity shooting up your spine. she was watching you intently in the mirror, the way your eyes were screwed tight and the way your mouth parts to let out more of those song-like moans. you’re so pretty, it’s no wonder that fans fall at your feet before even hearing you use your voice, but she’s stronger than that.
she won’t let herself fall for your charms, she reminds herself, her thrusts becoming more sloppy as her peak comes close. even if she’s holding you close and kissing your neck as you both reach your orgasms together, even if she’s helping fix your hair and outfit before sending you off, even if her attraction to you is stronger than her hatred, she knows where her priorities lie.
it’s not going to become anything more than a fling, and you won’t become anything more than a fuck-buddy. that’s how it has to be.
