RUNNIN' ALONG

Lily waved goodbye with a beaming smile as the acquaintance of hers excused themselves to go to the bathroom. And no sooner had they left, Lily felt the cushion decrease again with another body. A glass clinked against her’s and Lily looked over with a smile, lifting it slightly in response. Her eyes sized up the woman with vague surprise. There was no mistaking the gorgeous Katherine Shacklebolt but she hadn’t talked to her much before. There was no real reason to it - Lily rather admired her and she was glad for the chance. “Oh, thank you.” Her smile was genuine but it faltered with the colouring of her cheeks.

A huff of amusement, her gaze faltering as she looked towards the fireplace and smirked. “I didn’t expect him to do that, but it wasn’t completely unfounded.” Lily smiled back at the woman. “Was it unexpected?” An outsiders perspective on the two of them was something Lily was definitely curious to get. 

“Really?” Katherine asked, brows shot up as she smirked. “You really didn’t bank on Potter shooting his shot and kissing you? How much have you not been listening to the student body?” She liked the Head Girl—respected her, but it was deepened by the sound trust her own dorm mate held in the redhead. A small smirk plastered to her lips. “Not really. Anyone with half a brain could clue into the fact that at some point he was going to try. I sat next to him in Transfiguration all last year, it was bound to happen.” She said, taking a swig of the bottle. “Unless you didn’t want him to kiss you, in that case I’d gladly cock-punch him for you.”
