Dispatch 005-011
Uh all the days kind of run together now??
Weekdays: we wake up, watch TV, we do some school work from the kid’s e-learning plans. Social studies and Khan Academy and daily journals for David. Spelling notebook and math workbook (sometimes) and EpicBooks for Norah. Plus pearler beads and drawing for art, trumpet lessons for David on FaceTime with Grandpa, walks with Mookie and playing outside for PE.
I let them play A LOT of video games. Like, probably too many. There's only so many hours a day I can fill with educational activities.
BUT Norah really learned to ride her bike this week, not even needing my help to stop or start anymore. And she’s SO proud of herself. The confidence she’s earned from this has been really incredible.
The weekdays have really been pleasant overall. Friday we took the dog for a long walk, and I worked on some art while the kids did school, and Norah watched a movie and I took a nap. Takeout sushi for dinner. It’s been nice to have all of us home together.
Saturday was rainy and emotionally difficult. My whole body felt full of a restlessness I couldn’t shake. Today I went for a super long walk, and listened to the week’s liturgy on my phone, and felt better.
I think we’re in this for the long run. Cheers to the next month of home quarantine, okay?
