I mean, when Hades took her daughter from her side, she just stopped the plants from growing and thousands of humans died of hunger. Then, her sadness and joy from when she could not or could see her daughter ended up creating the seasonal, literally changing the world.

Demeter kids are the most powerful, and Katie is the strongest among them. Yes, Zeus may control the sky, Poseidon the seas and Hades the Underworld, but people don’t live there. People live on earth. And that is my queen Demeter’s domain.

Her kids are closely followed in power by the childs of Aphrodite, who was literally born from Uranus and is older than the Big Three.

Demeter and Aphrodite’s children can literally take over the world but people choose to ignore them. ugh. worst mistake of their lives

Just picture it. The gods are at Mount Olympus or wherever fighting against Chronos’ forces (yes I know they were elsewhere fighting Typhon but this is more dramatic) and suddenly… golden vines start growing everywhere. They crawl upon the gods ankles and cover their whole bodies and they start to feel trapped and asphyxiated and as if all of their energy is drained.

And then Demeter and Aphrodite take a step foward to the center of the throne room. The are side by side, looking at each other, smiling with pure joy. But then Aphrodite looks at the gods, one by one, and they all start to feel just absolutely miserable. Like all of the love they have ever felt to people and things and places just… vanished. They are alone in the world and they will die that way. It’s just a raw devastating feeling that it makes them wish they were not immortal so they could just let themselves die.
