theme nine: lilac — one-column sidebar theme with an optional header inspired by social media post dashboards. made to commemorate the one-year anniversary of when i started this blog. it’s been a crazy year and i can’t believe how much this blog has grown, so thank you to all of you!

sidebar with a 100px by 100px circular image and up to three custom links

optional header with a search bar, optional header image, and up to seven custom links. header image can be any height and is the same width as whatever post size you choose.

posts sizes: 400px, 450px, 500px, 540px.

option to show or hide captions, show tags or tags on click, optional post dropdown menu with extra post info.

options include: post margin, photoset gutter, drop shadows, rounded post and photo corners.

first npf photoset in a post will be converted to a regular photoset, thanks to this script by annasthms and codematurgy’s npf photoset script.

responsive for both desktop and mobile devices.

notes: 

tumblr’s customize page is very buggy and when you first install the theme, you have to toggle the options on and off to get them to work properly. if something doesn’t look right or the post captions disappear, save and exit because 99% of the time it will look fine on your blog.

icons are from Feather Icons and if you want to change them, go to the site, find the name of the icon you want, and enter it in the space in the customization panel.

I’m a big fan of these sorts of writing exercises for muses in the RP community but I can never find one right for me. So, I wrote one. This may not be right for everyone and certainly isn’t better or worse than any existing ones, just different. Below a cut for length. You don’t need to like or reblog to use but personally I would link or something not for me but for your fellow RPers who may also wish to use this format.

Each day has a word or phrase etc. and you are meant to write about your muse in that context however you are most comfortable. Each section includes additional suggestions to help get going but they’re all intended as ‘free write’ subjects so don’t feel bound by my suggestions. Also I picked 3 for my list number for  the few list questions, feel free to do more or less again don’t feel overly bound by anything here. Write as much or as little as suits you just have fun!

Katherine shrugged, not quite relaxing her stance, but not quite tensing either. her normal caution when approaching people she didn’t recognise well. Yeah, his attire lent itself to inspiring caution, but she hoped hers did too, honestly. “Do you plan on giving a me a reason to?” She asked, sizing him up.

Yeah, he was a lot larger, but that hopefully meant slower. “Just because you’re tall and emo doesn’t mean you’re scary.”

Saix narrowed his eyes, ignoring her comment. This was not at all what he was used to, being more accustomed to being feared, which he preferred to being respected. “You have no idea what I can do,” he smirked. “The ways i can kill a person, torment a person.”

“You’re right, I don’t.” Katherine did not like him talking himself up like this. It didn’t bode well, especially if he intended to prove himself. She didn’t know if she had enough mana to keep up with someone like this. Either he was bluffing, crazy, or honest.
