“Oh hush, let me be proud here for a moment. It’s not like I can see you shine on a stage all the time.” Katherine mused, adjusting her sister’s hair before being pulled in for a hug. She wasn’t one to easily let others hug her, but for family she always made an exception. “Hey, nothing of that! Being sweaty means you did hard work and you can be proud of yourself.” Was she being too much of a big sister? Maybe, but Evie would just have to suffer. She was super proud of what both Evie and Akida had accomplished in their lives. She was proud of all of her siblings, no matter where they were at in their life. “Do you want to have a shower first before grabbing a bite, or are we going to soak in the sun and sit on a terrace somewhere?” 

“How is it that I always have the luck that my size is out?” Katherine hummed, stepping away from the rack she’d currently been shifting through, instead turning her attention to a nearby employee. “Excuse me. Would you perhaps be able to help me out? I’ve never been to a thrift shop before and I could really use another pair of eyes as to what would look good on me.” She started, hands folded together. “Unless you’re too busy, then that’s okay. A chance not taken is a chance lost, right?” 

“Oh, I’m so sorry, did I ruin your picture?” Honestly Katherine didn’t really care, nor made an attempt to move far out of the way. Today was her first day off in almost two weeks and this spot in the park had full sunshine and she wasn’t going to give that up. She did however sit up to face him properly, fiddling with the flower she had in her hands. “You any good? You certainly carry a more expensive camera than most I have seen today. It looks expensive anyway. I don’t really know anything about cameras.” 

“Oh my, gooood” Katherine squealed as she made her way towards her sister, not wanting to interrupt her conversation just now. She didn’t know if it was a co-star or the director. She had seen the last bit of what they had been rehearsing and she couldn’t be more ecstatic of her sister doing so great in what she loved to do best. “You were so amazing! You’re like a whole different person on that stage!” 

“Hey Mr hard worker.” Katherine made her way into the restaurant’s kitchen, never too shy to find her way into the back of his restaurant, while of course keeping in mind that she didn’t get in anyone’s way or that she was a potential hygiene risk. It was to be expected that she found Marco hard at work, even if the restaurant wasn’t at full capacity yet. Typical. “Think I can steal you away for a minute to get some fresh air? Calm before the storm and all that?” 

“Hiya Neighbour.” Katherine greeted her, making her way to the half fence that separated their fences, turning off the hose so that she wouldn’t drown her plants. Sure she knew the best time to water the plants was when the sun was going down, but since she was working tonight, that wouldn’t be an option. “I’d like to say that a look says more than words could, but a look never got me to ask for your name?” 

Now Katherine wouldn’t say she was a very important person, but managing one of the hotspots in the city did give her a lot of connections, and when she was asked to supply for the bar at this event, she went for it. She brought her best bartender, aka the one who could put up a good show for the customers and made sure they had the best stuff for the service. She wasn’t tending to the bar and instead found her place on the other side, martini in hand. When someone suddenly threw all the gossip at her, she smiled. “Scandalous. Maybe someone should give her a nanny cam for Christmas. Imagine the drama.” Katherine never had to deal with a cheating ex – such were the perks of having an open relationship. They could be open about other relationships and there would be no harm no foul. That was, if the rules were being followed. “I swear if we didn’t need them for reproduction, it would’ve been a women’s world.” 

“Uh, no. How about you guess what I just said? Without the Daffy Duck voice.” Katherine had already realised her sister had drifted off while she was talking, so her interruption didn’t come as a surprise to her. “Make me feel interesting here, Aki.” 

“Oof, ew, wrong tube.” Katherine choked in her tequila shot, telling herself to be a guest at her establishment rather than keeping tabs on everything. She wanted to get piss drunk, but that was a challenge if it ended up her choking in the content rather than it ending up in her stomach, where it should be. “Come on, it’s a bottle on the house, when are you ever getting this opportunity again?”
