This journal heavily features butterflies. I have a whole stockpile of them....I like them, but I am not certain how I amassed so many in the course of the last twelve years.

The second part of the art journal flip for inspiration. The image in the thumbnail is one of my favorites but it is a sticky page.
This is the first part of a series of art journals to inspire a new journal I am making from recycled materials. The overall theme is nature
In this journal I do a lot of collage with papers, doodles, magazines, and drawings. I have a few more journal flip throughs to post and film. I want to start doing art on camera so I have more time for making creative projects in general.
Finally managed to read First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain. I laughed, I cried. Now I have to get on the library website and put the rest of the series on hold. Debating finding an audiobook version so I can multitask, but it's nice to have a tangible copy on rainy afternoons when you don't have much energy for anything else. I wish I still had the used copies I bought in Texas but they were one of the things I decided to part with when we moved back home, instead of a dozen empty notebooks. Priorities...
This is a look at my photography setup. I haven't taken a lot of photos lately as i haven't been traveling much. I tend to take photos on my phone more and then forget to get them developed.

Two handmade art journals and the book I used for Junk Journal January.
It's not as clean currently...I'm on a journaling kick. Trying to get reorganized to film a creative update video on Tuesday...
The second book I got from my cousin Izzy. She made the book and I finished decorating it.
Books
I decided to start First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain, got through the first 148 pages and decided to start How to Survive a Horror Story. Why? Both books are decent reads in different genres. I'll get back to the high fantasy novel now that the horror novel is done. I'm currently listening to Sorcery and Stories by Elle Adams on YouTube while I write.
Not a monogamous reader...

Reading Notes...
I finished A Nest of Magic by Kate Moseman this afternoon. I thought the characterization and setting was well written. The plot is about the coming together of two women from vastly different worlds and making space for each other. It was sweet. Not a long read.
I also finished Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura. I was listening to an audio playaway copy while doing other things, so I would get jarred to attention when it got steamy. Basic premise is archeologists in the Mexican jungle looking for lost remains. The archaeologists have a "love-hate" relationship built on misunderstanding and mutual pining. This is the first book in a series. I don't know that these characters appear in the other books.
Debating which of my library books to start next...
I have First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain which will probably take a few weeks to finsh. I'm not as fast a reader as I used to be. I am halfway through How to Write Romantasy by Jenna Moreci.
May start Crazy Spooky Love or The Village Library Demon-Hunting Society next.
This is a video about my writing setup. I have more art related videos on my channel right now but I have plans for more writing related content. (Art is more visual.)
Welcome to my art studio bedroom tour! I am all about color in my space. I struggle to keep my creativity contained in the boxes and bins th
This is the setup I had in my last apartment for making art and writing. The colorful, organized space did not last long as i decided to get a massive shelf for storage purposes and moved the table. I have a new art studio bedroom tour that is scheduled to post on YouTube on Friday.
Swimming Lessons...
When we moved to our new apartment, I was gifted with my baby box...a relic of ancient cards and letters and report cards. I even have reports from the time I took swimming lessons when I was four...
I am no longer as proficient a swimmer as I used to be. I'm sure there is a plethora of videos I could watch on YouTube to help me practice. I keep thinking that swimming is the way I will get in better shape, but I feel like I have to have permission to go. Why? I don't really know. Convenience? Safety? Habit? I wasn't raised at the pool. It is easy to make excuses not to go. Could I make it easier? Maybe?
I feel like this extends to other parts of my life, whether that is focusing on one writing project or working in an art journal. I am not a monogamous hobbyist. My space is usually messy unless I manage to make it not messy. Out of sight, out of mind.
I want to give myself permission to grow more intentionally with my creative process and share it with people around me. I want to get better at swimming and leaving my comfort zone in general, so I am not spending my life waiting for someone else to be interested in going somewhere or doing something new. I feel like this habit is an extension of anxiety I'd rather not have, and I'd really love to throw it off and just feel like I'm living a life I created.

I'm filming new content this week. I have some art journal tours to post in the meantime. I'm planning on doing some Tumblr community posts as well as I get back into blogging in general.
One of my most recent art journals. It is a work in progress, but closer to finished than most.
