The fire dragon's 2 forms I decided not to color in the background because it would take away too much from what I want to be seen. Also, the detail in the background is so small, I didn't want to risk making a mistake after making this. I had to take too many breaks because my right hand actually started hurting from doing all that miniscule detail on the dragon. Next week, it'll be 2 years since I was introduced to Adult Coloring. This is an important moment for me, since it signifies a new chapter in my life. I have a lot of health problems, and 2 years go, they shipped me off to a rehab clinic, not because I'm a drug addict, but because it's the only place on this Island where they are allowed to prescribe methadone. It has changed my life enormously. In good and bad ways alike. While in that clinic, I was introduced to adult coloring. And I can honestly say that it has had as much influence on changing my life as the Methadone. It somehow gave direction to my life. Before that. I would just be gaming most of my time. But this, this was different. People liked seeing what I made, I started getting requests from people if I could color something for them so they could hang it up in their home. It gave purpose. The methadone gave me my health back, the coloring gave me my life back. And to commemorate this, I took 32 of my drawings and turned it into a 4k background. Pirate Arabella is finished. I learned that you cannot successfully blend Faber-Castell and CastleArt Supplies pencils. I tried doing so on the background and I ended up trying to fix it with adding a layer of a similar color. I am really proud of her skin. I usually go for flawless skin. But this is a pirate. Pirates don’t have flawless skin. So I did my best to give her a sun weathered skin full of summer freckles. I think I succeeded rather well. Another beautiful design from the talented Kimberly Hawthorne. I am in love with her work. While it was rather simple to color it was fun and in my personal opinion. I think the result is rather stunning. I’m really happy with how the eye turned out. Been searching for quite a while now to find the perfect blue eyes color combo and I think I just found it. I used @castle_arts_official pencils 097 intense blue and 104 terre verde deep. Smoothed out with @prismacolor premier PC938 White and properly blended with their PC1077 colorless blending pencil.
