Eleven Days Awake; The Experiment.

"Maybe Ah jus' might-" She purred delightfully under her breath. She only hoped that he'd take that as welcoming sign to take an advance on his words and to actually give her a kiss, because damn- if a kiss didn't sound good right about now...

“Y’know...maybe we should find a place n’ get some coffee or somethin’ warm like that. I mean, nearly every general store sells it.” He comments, shrugging his shoulders. 

She listened intently to his words, giving him a small nod in agreement as she playfully and gently leaned into his arm a bit, letting her fingers intertwine with his own. “Ah t’ink sum coffee o’r sumt’in’ would do us both well. T’eh cold has been gettin’ pretty harsh lately- Ah overheard sum folk say we might even be gett’in’ sum snow soon!” Her brows twisted slightly in concern at her own words. “If t’at’s t’eh case, Ah’m goin’ t’eh need ta find amhself sum warm boots o’r sumt’in’...” Her sweet little smile had now been replaced with a more thoughtful expression; it was more than obvious that the woman’s mind was now on the thought of how she would even obtain shoes, given her lack of money.

"Snow, huh?" The man asked, thinking about that. If it were to snow, it likely wouldn't be all that much, but it still wouldn't be all that great given that his gang and him camped, well, outside. He was in somewhat of a similar situation ad Saoirse. "Y'know, I'd buy some boots for ya or somethin', really. If we're goin' to the general store anyway." He offered, shrugging his shoulders. It wasn't a big deal; he'd be willing to take some of his own money and help out the one he loved.

“A-Ah’m sorry-” She began, pressing her lips together even harder now, trying to think of what to say. It was awful how often Saoirse let her own thoughts get the better of her; they often made her anxious and paranoid about the smallest, trivial things. Like how right now she was worried that her relatively miniscule comment now made poor Arthur assume she was just mooching off of him. “Ah’m sorry yew feel like yew have ta help and care fer me all ta time, like Ah’m sum sort o’ helpless child o’r sumt’in’. Ah-Ah swear Ah’m tryin’ real hard- Ah jus’- Ah don’t want yew ta t’ink Ah’m... Ah don’t know- Like Ah’m tryin’ to use yew o’r sumt’in’... Really, yew don’t have ta get me sum boots o’r anyt’in’- Ah’ll be fine, Ah promise.” Picking up her head, she gently squeezed Arthur’s hand, trying to give him a tender, reassuring smile.

“Yew’re right-” The woman started after she finished letting her breath out, opening her eyes once more. “Ah- Ah guess Ah’m jus’ not used ta sumone carin’ so much about me. ...It’s jus’, strange. Strange, but- but good! In a... Weird sort o’ way. Ah, really appreciate all yew’ve done fer me... Ah-Ah love yew, Ah really do.” Saoirse cooed sweetly, looking up into the other’s bright, blue eyes.

"Hah- y'know, I'm in the same boat. Though I guess I've said that before." The cowboy shrugged his shoulders, "Love's strange as hell, that's for sure. I...I mean, I ain't been with nobody for real in a near decade. Longer maybe." He couldn't remember if he had told the redhead about his past engagement to Mary, but it wasn't particularly something that he felt like talking about now. "But I...ah, I love y'too, darlin'. Don't you forget that now, okay?" The man smiled softly.

"Ah guess teh closest t'ing Ah ever had ta a relationship was, well-" Saoirse paused for a moment, shaking her head lightly. This wasn't the time and place for this conversation; she planned to tell his soon, especially since they made their little 'thing' official now- but talking about something like this in public wasn't probably the best idea. "Ah-Ah'm sorry." She mumbled, now fumbling with the tattered edges of her shawl. "Ah didn't mean ta ruin teh mood like t'is..."

"That ain't stupid at all. Love's not always a nice thing. Not in my experience, at least." The man laughed shortly, "Y'know, I proposed to a lady once. Long time ago...she rejected the proposal, n' I guess, in a way deterred me from gettin' into another relationship." There was also the experience with poor, poor Eliza and Isaac-- when if what him and Eliza had was more of a 'fling' or maybe even a one night stand, he did love her deep down. Her death, along with his son's death was just the final nail in the coffin for him when it came to relationships. They always ended in tragedy. Though he didn't admit this story to Saoirse quite yet. "I understand where you're comin' from."

“Ah was... Ah was, abused, yew know.” The Irish woman started, slowing hard at her own words. She hadn’t really talked about this before with anyone, so she knew it was going to be a difficult topic. She kept her voice a little on the lower side, seeing as how the twosome were in public. Luckily for them, there weren’t too many people around and those that were weren’t within earshot. Still though, this wasn’t really the kind of topic one should be having in public, so she still kept her voice lower, just in case. “Both... Physically and... Ye-Yew know...” Oh God- No wonder the poor woman was afraid to put herself out there, and was such a fearful, skittish little thing. Her hands flexed slightly, gripping the edges of her torn shawl much more tightly now than before. She was biting her lip; merely bringing this up clearly wasn’t easy for her.
