Part of the battle of Borodino from War and Peace (1968). I like the music and large scale fighting. Itâs epic!
The War and Peace Film series from 1966-1967, was one the most expensive films ever produced in the USSR and a staple of Soviet Cinema. It features some the largest battle sequences ever filmed, due to the poor quality of the 70mm film available many of the epic shots, involving around 3,000 soviet soldiers commandeered as extras, had to be retaken and repeated dozens of times.Â
The Three Friends by N.C. Wyeth from Sir Arthur Conan Doyleâs The White Company, 1922

Millionaire Racist Has Problem With Brown Woman Talking
"This could end up being one of those little oddities and mysteries of our careers that 40 years from now, weâll be retired and still questioning quite how this happened," one monk seal expert said.
This has nothing to do with anything but itâs the greatest headline Iâve ever seen
remember when Gravity Falls swept in, told its story in exactly how long it needed to tell it, and then ended in triumph and people still talk about it? I think abt that a lot

âI thought it was bullshit they wouldnât even give us a couple drink tickets. But check this out,â said bassist Britta Clark, demonstrating a whirlwind double-punch spin move with a band of fierce, orange light pulsing from her body. âIt really comes in handy when a song calls for a sort of pyrotechnic flourish, or for stunning a common field troll.â

Right now, the largest and most deadly wildfire in California history is burning. Last year, Hurricane Harvey drowned southeast Texas under punishing, endless rain; a month ago, Hurricane Florence âŚ
The myth that panic, looting, and antisocial behavior increases during the apocalypse (or apocalyptic-like scenarios) is in fact a mythâand has been solidly disproved by multiple scientific studies. The National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program, a research group within the United States Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), has produced research that shows over and over again that âdisaster victims are assisted first by others in the immediate vicinity and surrounding area and only later by official public safety personnel [âŚ] The spontaneous provision of assistance is facilitated by the fact that when crises occur, they take place in the context of ongoing community life and daily routinesâthat is, they affect not isolated individuals but rather people who are embedded in networks of social relationships.â (Facing Hazards and Disasters: Understanding Human Dimensions, National Academy of Sciences, 2006). Humans do not, under the pressure of an emergency, socially collapse. Rather, they seem to display higher levels of social cohesion, despite what media or government agents might expectâŚor portray on TV. Humans, after the apocalypse, band together in collectives to help one anotherâand they do this spontaneously. Disaster response workers call it âspontaneous prosocial helping behaviorâ, and it saves lives.
Iâve been sharing this article a lot recently! I think itâs important
#stop believing capitalismâs myths about human nature#and start remembering that we are the descendants of the first animals to bury their dead with flowers#we are all alive because of kindness. because of cooperation. because of companionship. because of mutual aid.#we did not become the dominant species based on rugged individualism: we survived together. and thatâs the only way forward. (via @robotmango)
Karamo Brown, who has worked with survivors of sexual assault as a therapist and social worker, takes issue with the visible age difference between the film's two leads.
