I KNOW our move is what is best for our family. For Greg and I. For our kids. That our kids feel the love from aunts and uncles and cousins. More space. Financial freedom. For our aging parents. But, f*ck, if it doesn't feel like I am suffocating from sadness tonight. I feel I could burst into ugly cry at any moment and that is not the least bit pretty. Our living room is nearly empty now, only a few chairs, an area rug and our record console. The acoustics are great. The dance parties have been epic. But this morning, I just sat on the hard wood floor for a few minutes, alone, and I watched the sun rise. I watched it changed. I accepted the change. I'm tired of looking at floor samples and paint colors and the cost of new furnaces and electrical panels. Realizing, rather quickly, that we just can't do it all right now. We will live with the old for awhile. But my mind went there again today, wrapped up in all that "stuff" which was exactly everything I did not want to consume myself with.
