Argumentum ad Ignorantiam – “a proposition is true simply on the basis that it has not been proved false or that it is false simply because it has not been proved true; often expressed with influential rhetoric”

Argumentum ex silentio – “if available sources remain silent or current knowledge and evidence can prove nothing about a given subject or question this fact in itself proves something about the truth of the matter”

“I think she was with the president right? She is the sister of the president. She is a member of the president’s family. There are courtesies and privileges extended to the president’s companions,” Roxas told reporters in Jaen, Nueva Ecija. “It did not require extra costs. If the president flew (to attend the sortie), she just tagged along with him,” he added.

Blind Loyalty -- “an argument or action is right simply and solely because a respected leader or source say it is right”

“I just want to remind him: Man up,” Roxas said. “If he could not, then we will see what kind of person he is… He’s all talk and no action.”

“You’re making allegations without basis. You’ve been insulting people, uttering invectives at them. You’re just fooling the people. The Filipinos do not deserve this. Their future, their lives are at stake here,” he said.

Roxas also gave his erstwhile friend-turned-tormentor an unsolicited advice: “Stop fooling our countrymen. You like taking swipes [at your rivals] and issue incendiary and controversial statements. But these mean nothing. This is not the kind of leadership we need.”
