Since I've been on a roll in making intersex flags. First: flags for the three major types of Indigenous groups whose lands were stolen to create the country I live in (Canada):

Left: intersex and First Nations (American Indian Movement) Middle: intersex and Inuit Right: intersex and Métis

Then I made some intersex flags for some specific First Nations whose cultures I have at least basic familiarity with: Left: Haida ................... Middle: Huu-ay-aht ......... Right: Musqueam

Left: Blackfoot ........... Middle: Anishinaabe ...... Right: Haudenosaunee

Note: The last three are confederacies of multiple nations. Order is based on geography, going west to east.

Personal Note: I am a settler and am not a member of any of these nations. I've moved many times in my life, and these nations are the rightful stewards of the lands that I personally feel I have the most connection to. 💜

And also!!! Take a wild guess when social sciences began to be seen as frivolous and as "women's work"!!!

it also doesn't make one better than the other either, they're just useful for different things, and can often be complimentary to each other is seeking to achieve a social, technological, medical, etc goal.

hard sciences are quantifiable, repeatable, and falsifiable. soft sciences are not. that is the difference.

there is absolutely truth to the sexist aspect of the way we VALUE hard vs soft sciences sure, but thats not what actually makes them what they are.

chemistry is a hard science because we can observe the properties of an element and how it interacts with its environment, study its components on a subatomic level, and then have hundreds of other chemists repeat those steps and see if it maintains those structural and behavioral properties under those conditions. we can measure that in objective data, repeat it, explain it, and make accurate predictions based on it. water is 2 hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom no matter who you ask or whos preforming the test. it exists that way regardless of cultural context, the history of the field or those who work in it, and regardless of what language is used to describe it.

those things are not true of soft sciences like sociology. you can not repeat, quantify, or falsify social attitudes, history, cultural change and development, etc in those ways.

that does not make them less useful or important, but it does make them reasonably less easy to point to as an objective fact. again, they are useful for different things or often in combination with each other to get the largest possible context for the thing we are trying to understand, describe, or solve.
