The coffeeshop was still as crowded as before but luckily the people did not talk as loudly as she imagined it to be, so it was comfortable to talk like this to the stranger, or maybe now acquaintance. She nodded. Old people and rich bastards were the worst kind of customers in her eyes- they thought they can be rude and unpleasant because of their age or status. Not okay. “Yeah… ah retail jobs are hard like that yeah. When I was younger I worked in a clothing shop- it was hella exhausting.” She smiled. “Yeah, then you will have a legitimate reason to be angry at the baristas.”
Her fingers played with the cover of her notebook while she looked at the other with a smile. “Oh? You did? So you often perform there? I mean… it is totally close to my house so I should come to watch you some time. That would be fun. Mhmhm-” She nodded. “Sounds like a great way to treat yourself. Or well… it is better than to buy liquor or something.” She tilted her head. The other seemed to be independent but still kind of young in the lifestyle he was living. Hyoseong envied him. Even though she was 29 and becoming the age to marry, settle down, have kids, she craved for a younger lifestyle. Settling down? Maybe if she found the right person. Not right now.
She nodded. Her eyes turned into half moons as she watched the other before she shrugged slowly. “Busking is nice too, you know- but if you ever want to escape that world or broaden your horizon… try modelling. I am sure you can come far with it.” While she sipped her drink, she nodded again, a smile playing around her lips. Who was she to tell him this? She just met him, but Hyoseong was blunt like this. Honesty was key in life.
Matthew both enjoyed and disliked crowded places like these, though he wasn’t fond of sounds that were too loud, he enjoyed being surrounded by people even if they weren’t people he personally talked to. Especially during times like these, in which he was left to wander around alone, it was nice to be surrounded by others. I gave him a feeling of comfort, somehow. He knew how to deal well with loneliness, he’d survived on his own for many years yet he felt a whole lot warmer like this. Faint voices in the background while he enjoyed some alone time, or in this case some time getting to know someone new. It wouldn’t happen often, that he’d meet new people. Not like this at least.
‘Perhaps one day, I’m not quite sure if it would suit me. You know, music has always kind of been my life so the thought of doing something else doesn’t really cross me. Even more when I see the struggles my girlfriend goes through.’ He explained, nose scrunching up at the memories of the many times in which she’d be forced to lose weight or would have to go through screenings by her label. Though he wasn’t the type to easily gain weight, he couldn’t imagine himself going through the same things as her-- but yet again, money was a big issue in his life so if there was a way for him to possibly earn some, he couldn’t really be picky.
His drink was nearing an end, throughout their conversations he had been sipping every once in a while and he had been enjoying himself more than he expected he would upon entering the said shop. He wasn’t looking forward to heading home, but without the drink in his hands he no longer had any excuse to stay around a little longer. ‘So what are you doing after this?’
