At long last, a new Yori: Hidden pic! Quorra introduces Yori to Radia, leader of the ISOs!
There is a scene in the Tron: Evolution game that zooms in on Radiaβs face when she is connected to the Grid. It really reminded me of the MCP from Tron but, this time, she is a benevolent entity. So, I wanted to incorporate both versions of Radia in this image.
On a personal note, the reason why I had left the Yori: Hidden series alone until now was because the passing of Cindy Morgan hit me pretty hard. Thatβs why I diverted to the Sam and Quorra pics (which I would like to do more of) and the Bat-Tron series.
Even making the Yori: Hidden tribute image for the Always zine was pretty difficult for me. The Chat image was a jump ahead chronologically from the Hidden images I had planned to make, but it seemed like the most appropriate image of Yori (and Cindy) that I should create as a memorial.
So, Iβve finally come back to the Hidden series and I can now view it with fresh eyes. I realised that this series is a good way to honour Cindy and keep her in our memories, even though sheβs no longer with us. I hope you enjoy this new piece, which carries on from my previous Esc image. At some point, Iβll finish writing the story that goes with this piece and post a reblog with both.Β

Female Kamen Riders ... Are they a figment of my imagination?
I am watching the series in strict order, and after the #KamenRider #ZiO ending I have lost my hope. I was disappointed & frankly enraged. It seemed that the writing was on purpose, to make a point about female Ramen Riders.
I had been keeping my hopes up & had too much expectations it seems.
I was looking forward to #KamenRider #Zero-One, I saw a live show in 2020 in Yomiuriland before the pandemic. But while I watched the first episode I felt joy had been snuffed out of me. I felt sadness to have lost my passion for that beloved franchise. Not sure if I'll continue watching anymore π
I read this old post and I can't help but to wish it has or will change... But I've somehow lost my will to keep watching, to keep hoping, to get through the secondary flower pot writing any longer!
I'm disheartened π
Does it get any better, should I keep my hopes up or will I be disappointed again?

Continuing on with my Akira poster crossover series, here's my Tron Ares version. Man, Tron bikes and suits sure aren't getting any easier to draw! π β
Before the year disappears entirely, this year marks the 30th anniversary of when I published the first issue of my New Zealand superhero series, Southern Tribe, all the way back in 1995!
So, I thought it would be fun to revisit the characters and update their looks a little to see how they've weathered the years.
I've also added the Southern Tribe comic covers from back then and the first page of the Southern Tribe '98 special that appeared in the Armageddon NZ Comic Megazine. It's quite interesting to see how much my art and graphic design have developed since '95! π
So... guess what I watched last week. π
I still can't decide whether Derpy Tiger is a mean name or not. It suits his crazy expression (especially when you see the kkachi horangi / minhwa paintings he's based on and he already has the Korean nickname "idiot tiger"). But, I don't know, the name still seems a little mean to me. I think he's super cute! π―π (KPDH director Maggie Kang refers to Derpy as a "he".)
Fave song? "Free". It's such a good duet. Hit me right in the feels.
Anyway, had fun with this film! Derpy and Sussie were a highlight for me!
