Camelot…idyllic, beautiful, and laden with mystery. This is the place where Emma might be saved from the spirits of the Dark Ones that haunt her. But there are menacing forces at work, and Regina is surrounded by palace intrigue in which everyone has an unspoken agenda– even the woman she’s trying to save.

Six weeks later, Regina and the others wake up in Storybrooke with no memory of what transpired in Camelot. What they do know: Emma is no longer the woman that they’d loved. She is bent on vengeance that will bring Storybrooke to its knees. It’s very possible that she can never be saved.

And she blames Regina for it all.

Emma Swan is newly divorced and enlightened re: the fact that she’s desperately in love with Regina. Now, if she can only get a hold of the queen of all the realms for long enough to date her. But Regina only seems to notice that Emma exists when there’s a crisis.

Lucky for Emma, she knows a lot of villains who might be interested in starting crises in beautiful, romantic venues.

Regina doesn’t agree. She doesn’t disagree, either, which Emma takes as a concession of sorts. “It is absolutely crushing,” Regina breathes instead, and her hand rises, turns, her knuckles brushing against Emma’s cheek, “To go so many days without seeing you.” 

Emma’s heart jumps. In this dark and naked space, it’s impossible to think about signals and plans, about all the things that are supposed to mean all the other things, about what is and isn’t real. All there is is Regina, her hand running over Emma’s skin, and it is so, so soft. “You have so many friends now,” Emma says, and she feels vulnerable and breathless, on the cusp of heartbreak or ecstasy. “I can’t be the only one–”

I don’t know if I am going to be able to complete this challenge. Should I still sign up? Yes! Anyone can sign up and work on a fic or a piece of art - you are only obligated to finish that fic or art if you submit it at match-up time and get matched to a creative partner. So there’s no risk, and you can drop out any time before then with no hard feelings!

What are the different roles? What if I don’t know what role I want to sign up for? You can see a quick summary of all the roles here on Twitter, with links to a more detailed post for each one. And if you’re not sure what specific role is best for you, no worries! You can sign up for undecided author or undecided artist roles, and we’ll send you information about both.

Can I sign up for multiple roles? Absolutely! We have many creators who also sign up as pinch-hitters or betas, and ones who participate as both authors and artists in the same challenge! We’ll make sure you’re never paired up with yourself, and as long as you’re sure you can finish anything you can submit at match-ups, you can participate in as many roles as you like.
