rewatching anne with an e and gilbert really is the dumbest man on the fucking planet because what do you mean you see your crush completely plastered at a party making pirate jokes and dancing by a fire and decide now is the correct time to confess your love for her and you do this by talking about all the benefits to marrying another girl, and when your crush, drunk as a skunk, sputters out a confused monologue that doesn't even include a full sentence you decide to take this as irrefutable proof that she is not in love with you. Gilbert. Gilbert you want to be a doctor. Gilbert you can't be this dense.

I don't understand the people who are screaming with outrage because of Enola and Tewksbury going to married each other's, claiming it will take away all of Enola's independence, when the whole point of this relationship, this part of Enola's story, is to realize that she can still be strong and independent while being with her man! The second film especially emphasized this! And I was so happy that finally a modern work showed this! Like many people! But apparently now that there's a wedding, it's no longer possible? What the hell? Why? Tewksbury is still the same guy who will let Enola have her independence! I also see people insinuating that there won't be an investigation. Uh... didn't we see the same trailer? Literally, Enola will probably miss her wedding because of her brother's disappearance! There's an investigation planned! What's with the haters?! Also, I'm fed up with people criticizing the makeup in Enola. He's always been out of step with the times from time to time. I don't understand why people only wake up to it in the third film? Then, all the controversy about the nails made me laugh. Because actually, it's not even anachronistic. Women did indeed have nails in those shapes back then. I seem to recall there being a fashion for that sort of thing at one point.
