listen, iâve never been a disney person or whatever, but i definitely understand the appeal of the rats kingdom. and when your best friend is having a disney wedding,,, well then you bet your ass iâm learning to love the rat.
my longtime bestie got MARRIED and like the disney princess she is, she had a disney wedding with yours truly as the maid of honor âşď¸ we are respecting the privacy of the bride and groom ofc but ohhhh my god, the ceremony was absolutely gorgeous. i sobbed like a baby the minute i saw her and did not stop until the reception was over. she is such a pinterest diva too, she made the bouquets that the bridesmaids carried from WODDEN PETALS!!! that she DYED BY HAND!!! (pictured in the center). iâve always admired her patience and dedication to such things. it was beautiful watching her dream become reality, seeing how it blossomed from a concept on a pinterest board. she wrote her story and got her happily ever after :,)
the next few days after the wedding were spent stumbling through parks between rides and attractions. if was was lucky, i was off balance due to alcohol and not painâ note to self: next time we attempt disney, BRING! INSOLES! ,,, AND IBUPROFEN!!! i will say though, the amount of detail put into these attractions is insaneâ like the queue will be an hour long but the entirety of it is also part of the experience of the ride. that, plus the frequent variety of strong alcoholic beverages, was almost worth the loss of feeling in my lower body đââď¸ the rides are good thrills, the attractions are pretty awe inducing, and while the food is hit or miss, those DRINKS?! did i mention they are fire??? teehee đ¤
i spent nearly a week in the most magical place on earth, and yet the magic i truly appreciated wasnât in the scent of gourmet chocolate being pumped in the streets, or even in the manufactured core memories (nothing against the toddler who pulled king arthurâs swordâ your moment was cute girl!!).
the real magic was in watching the groom prevent the bride from having a meltdown over melted dole(whip). in those moments when the bridesmaid with the puppy eyes was caught stealing glances with the groomsman with the piercing gaze. in the little girl waiting behind me in line, who was still learning english but was obsessed with my hair and became my bestie for the next hour. in reading tarot for my girls at the end of the night and teaching the boys how to manifestâlong story short and zero context provided, we âmani-fistedâ the tron ride being back up right before closing. yes you read that correctly đ
despite the ironic need for a post vacation hibernation, i thoroughly enjoyed my first experience in the Happiest Place on Earthâ˘ď¸(gagâno seriously, it was nice but the really call themselves that? ew). i was left with a nice lil tan, a sexy rasp to my voice, and some new meaningful connections. i love being blessed with the opportunity to experience new people and make memories. that said, it doesnât necessarily take the magic of disney to do that and i am excited for some more lowkey experiences in the near future. kitty needs a nap before her next big tripđŠ
