Strut II Kallista & Open
Kallista shrugged, her lips quirking to the side in her signature smirk. “I didn’t have time, I was literally going up on stage when you texted me.” She answered with a shrug, before leaning over and giving him a quick hug. She had missed him; they had both been so busy that she hadn’t had a moment to have a normal conversation with him. As she sat back she let her head fall back and a surprised laugh escape her. “Not necessarily; it’s more of a side job. I still have the studio full time.” She explained finally with a shrug, before motioning for two drinks.
“I’ve been…alright. This has helped; I had forgotten what it felt like being in the spotlight.” She replied, purposely avoiding his eyes so he couldn’t see the haggard depths of them. “How have you been?” She returned, finally looking at him when the drinks arrived and she pushed one toward him and sipped her own. “I heard that you and Arielle are finally official. When did that happen?” She asked with a small laugh, canting her head to the side and looking up at him.
“Well, thanks for the surprise,” Kaiden scoffed, only to bounce back with a grin that scrunched up his nose. He hugged Kallista back, before swiftly looking her over as he sat back. She looked good despite all that happened, confident. But of course, if there was anything Kai knew about Kalli, it was that she liked to handle things on her own; perhaps she was just hiding how broken she was. “Good. Because I’ve told myself not to come here so often, even if that means visiting you.” Looking off to the side, his signature, crooked smirk quirked his lips as his gaze flickered back to hers with an arched brow. “I’m a changed man.” His cocky facade fell, replaced with a light laugh instead as he shook his head; there was no way he’d change.
“Good, thank you. And, Jesus, I don’t know --” Kaiden took the drink with a word of thanks, taking a sip before he continued. “I just apologized for being an asshole and asked her out, it came out of nowhere.” Kai huffed a laugh before falling silent for a while, mulling over how to change the subject to the main problem at hand. “Speaking off assholes..” he raised his brows as he lifted his chin in a challenging manner, albeit not towards her, “Where’s the ex? I need her head on a stick. My place is lacking in decor.”
