the missions shikadai got as a new chunin were not complicated. the first one was more of a test, even. however, as he started to get more experience, naruto and shikamaru had dared to trust him with more risky assignments. this one in particular consisted bascially on delivering scrolls containing experiements that were developed by kabuto in the past. as shikadai was told, these were not simple experiments, they were the result of a hard work and they could be dangerous in the wrong hands. luckily, a woman of science in sunagakure had been chosen to study them and decipher exactly the extent of this unfinished project. the kid shrugged. how hard could this be ? if no one was supposed to know about the scrolls, no one would try to steal them. that morning, he met the two men that were assigned to accompany him during his trip to the sand village. they were two young men, probably the age of mirai, who didn’t look too happy by the idea of being led by a little boy. but shikadai didn’t care... this was his mission and he wasn’t going to let anyone ruin it.

“ i care about many things. ” although shikadai wouldn’t blame anyone who thought like that about him. it was what people usually believed, and he knew exactly why. “ what do you think bit me ? ”
