Ike pulls away and loops his arms around Vox’s neck, breathing heavily, “Aren't you pleased that I've grown a bit brave?” his tone was determined. Vox couldn’t hold back a short laugh.

“Do you want me to praise you?”

The prince huffs, “Must I verbalise every desire of mine?”

Yes, an immediate answer in Vox’s head. Yes, the prince has to say he wants it, has to verbalise everything he wants from the butler, word per word, so Vox can use it as an excuse to do the things he does to the him— that all the touches, kisses, embrace, were all things the prince wanted and something Vox must fulfil, not because he wants it either, but because he works under the prince. If he could brush all of this off as an order from the hierarchy, it would lessen the guilt within his heart, convincing himself that this was simply nothing more than work.
