“tsoa achilles mischaracterizes iliad achilles!!” umm obviously… the book is patroclus telling all of his memories of their story to thetis. tsoa patroclus is so blinded by love and admiration, we really cant trust his image of achilles because he sees him as this perfect man that does no wrong and hopes for the reader to do the same, plus his memories are blurry as he’s retelling the story. he himself says "i dont know if some of my memories are even real.” lets not forget that not one person in the iliad nor the odyssey were good people, it wasnt just achilles

not a day goes by that i dont reminisce on achilles reaching for his sword to slit his own throat when he found out patroclus had been killed but he didnt have it because he gave it to patroclus 😫
