FUN BATMAN AND ROBIN COMIC READING ORDER
Is it complete? No, that shit would be impossible. Is it sensible? Only to the deranged. Is that even all from the same timeline???? Nope. But do you need any previous knowledge about Batman? Also no! And is it FUN to read and actually going to give you a somewhat sensible story about our favourite dynamic duo (Bruce and Dick)? HELL YEAHHH
1. Batman: The Long Halloween (1996)
Great starting point, suprisingly feminist themes, stunning art and a fabulous detective story. Also Two-Face origin! Setting the stage thematically for Robin's appearance.
2. Batman: Dark Victory (1999)
ROBIN ORIGIN!!! A solid tale about overcoming loneliness <3
3. Batman and Robin: Year One (2024)
The artwork is maybe the best on this list, the story is solid, but the characterisation is the BEST YOU ARE GONNA GET. This is the Batman and Robin story. A story about found family and finding joy in living <3
4. Batman #13: The Batman Plays a Lone Hand (1940)
It's silly and fun and cute and so on the nose it could be fanfiction.
5. World's Finest: Teen Titans (2023)
Robin's growing up! Our boy <3
6. World's Finest: Batman/Superman (2022)
THIS IS PEAK BATMAN. This is also peak Superbat but whatevsss✨️🤭
7. New Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (1988)
Robin growing up to Nightwing!! <3 Also Dickkory is so cute and Donna and Dick are besties 4evrrrr
Jason my boy appearing!! Origin of the second Robin (the origin is bad, but his dynamic with Dick is so cute)
9. New Teen Titans #55 (1988)
And he's dead :/ the angst, the hurt and Bruce and Dick's relationship forever changing...
10. Nightwing: Secret Files and Origins
Guess who's being hauted by the ghost of his dead little brother? This guy :)
And that's concluding the list for now. I can't fit the other comics in a sensible narrative (yet) so stay tunend for Part 2 when I manage to do that haha
