K9 Millitia

If you recall ( or if you were dead under a rock for the late 90s ) it was 1998 in the heart of the South Bronx, when the âbiggestâ rapper alive had set the table for his brethren. BIG PUN dropped âCapital Punishmentâ and proved that, without a doubt, Latinoâs had a right to the hip - hop crown. Now⌠fast forward a few years ahead â the area is now downtown Jersey City, NJ where the rap ciphers spark like the tip of a snub nose .38. This is where k9 millitia was born: pm the sharp look of their disbelievers; on the open mouthed stares of those bopping their heads in the background. This is where Peluka da Joker & Frankie âeffdotâ Metales sharpened their bars and crafted their hooks. Infused in their pallets is the slick shifting vocabulary thatâs more than just an English/Spanish hybrid. What you hear in their voices is a Native tongue all their own. Pulsing through every vocal & lyric echoes the pride of the Taino Indians. The k9 millitia thesis is simple: no creed, color, or culture can dictate your skill behind the microphone. And just like PUN, k9 milli have never met a wall they didnât wanna kick down, a mic they couldnât smoke, or crowd they couldnât hype and brand with a symbol of their Hispanic Heritage.
