Fandom vs Canon: Keith edition
Fandom: Keith is so angry and grumpy all the time, he never gets along with anyone!
Keith: Works well with Team Voltron, despite only having known most of them for a number of hours in the first episode. Has been shown to be gentle/sympathetic/concerned/understanding, even towards strangers. Is rarely angry, but is blunt and straightforward to the point of being abrasive at times. Is shown to laugh and smile regularly, and has a very dry sense of humor.
Fandom: Keith thinks with his feelings! He always lets his emotions get the better of him.
Keith: Thinks linearly, and can get more easily annoyed and impatient as a result. Confused by non-linear/abstract thinking. Annoyed when things don't line up with his expectations of how they should work. Quick to call out others for making irrational choices. Relies on his own abilities, and makes decisions that are logical to HIM based on his own expectations of what he is capable of.
Fandom: Keith is a loose canon, he was probably such a delinquent when he was at the Garrison!
Keith: An excellent team player. Takes delegation well and performs within his role the majority of the time. Would need to work well within a team structure and perform well as a student (not just a pilot) in order to be the best in his class.
Fandom: Keith argues with Lance constantly! They're always at each other's throats.
Keith: Has been shown to work well with Lance most of the time, and even defer to his ideas when it was clearly the better choice. Overall, the two have more screen-time being civil/working as a team than arguing. Treats Lance as an equal member of the team. Is scathingly blunt, but does not intentionally bait him into arguing 99% of the time. Ignores Lance's baits/lets them fall to the wayside more often than he falls for them.
Fandom: Keith is supposed to be this hot-headed lone wolf trope. We've definitely seen this character before!
Keith: A well-rounded, multi-dimensional character with his own complexities and vibrant personality.
