alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

More adventures of the the Goose
The goose ended up at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe from the Hitchhiker's Guide. Interestingly enough it spawned not one but two double drabbles.

Rainy Naha (1949-2026), Native American - Hopi-Tewa, was known for her intricately painted pottery. The tumbling parrots and solstice designs were her unique creations. While she won numerous awards, it was her kindness, laugh, and creativity that brought her so many fans. After working with her for 30 years, she will be greatly missed, but she leaves behind an amazing legacy and family. She is the end of an era.

This was really fun to do
Being in the Sherlock Holmes fandom is so funny to me. In other fandoms I see people arguing about characters skintone, hair style/colour, age, race, ect. Meanwhile, there are so many Sherlock Holmes adaptions and reimaginings out there where I can scroll and see Holmes as an asian woman, Holmes as a magical girl, Holmes as a Russian, Holmes as a fucking mouse/dog and Holmes as an anime character and just be like: yep... that's good.
And regardless of the setting, the time period and who (or what) portrays the characters it’s always 1895!
A limerick is a fun 5-line poem with a clear rhythm and rhyme pattern (AABBA). It builds a short story or joke, ending with a punchline in the final line. Read here: https://www.wordlelimericks.com/how-do-limericks-work/
A (8-10) - First you want to set the RHYME
A (8-10) - The second line should keep the TIME
B (5-6) - Make the next one SHORT
B (5-6) - With a witty RETORT
A (8-10) - Then end with a good PUNCHLINE!
Go go 'Ricking Crew!

I oft end up writing them backward
Which is, I do say, somewhat awkward
Starting with the retort,
Then rhyming the short,
Making sure the others have no bad words!
Headcanons?
Morning/afternoon/evening, all-
For the fanfic writers, especially, I'm curious if you stick with one headcanon story for your OTPs? For instance, I have written several versions of 'the thing with peas' and the origin story of the Belstaff for BBC Sherlock, I don't feel like I need to stick to one story/universe. Thoughts? @totallysilvergirl @scrub456 @imnova @chriscalledmesweetie @calaisreno
Thanks for asking! 💕
I write a lot of AUs, which means many versions of Sherlock/John and Holmes/Watson, but even in my canon-based stories, I don't stick to canon. There is no master headcanon in my head. I can't even quantify the results. Every story is a parallel universe. 💕
Seems to be crossovers for me. Holmes sticks his nose into a lot of what I write. If it isn’t Holmes it’s the dang werewolves sniffing around.
Again with the Goose
So once again the goose from The Untitled Goose Game has wandered into a fandom. It's Doctor Who this time. I tried to write this one so that anyone could insert their favorite Doctor into the narrative without mentally tripping over anything other than the Goose.

the thing about chekhov's gun is that the gun does not literally "need to go off by the third act." the story works just as well if someone merely grabs the gun and starts threatening people with it, or if the Jewish protagonist recognizes the particular model as a Politically Concerning piece of world war 2 surplus, or if the gun's owner waxes nostalgic about the last time he fired it, etc. etc. etc.
unfortunately I get the impression that a lot of people do not understand that and therefore build theories around the idea that if the gun is not Specifically taken down from the wall and fired, it serves no purpose to the story, so why the hell was it there in the first place
Oh yes. While good ol’ Anton did state that the gun needed to be used in the 3rd act the meaning was always about following through. If it gets emphasized then it needs to play into the story otherwise why bother to include it. Thus the gun may not need to be a gun at all. The thingy over the fireplace may not need to be literally over the fireplace so long as it’s prominent. Use of the thingy can be anything from its intended purpose to anything that makes a beat in the plot as OP has noted
Realistically I know that the reason for all the inconsistencies in the original Sherlock books is because ACD could not give less of a fuck about continuity or consistency but I think it’s a lot funnier if John Watson was just a liar. You go king say everything but the truth!!!
This is why the Watsonian view (as opposed to the Doyalist) of canon is so popular. Also, Watson himself tells us he’s omitting things, obscuring details and outright not telling certain stories on multiple occasions.
My name is Gull and when I see a tasty chip that chip's for me You think it's yours but listen, bud It's mine, or else There will be blood
When chips are gone
That bun will do
And the hot dog
That’s mine too.
Out of your hand
Will it I grab
Leaving you
To pay the tab.
Actually, my therapist has told me this is a healthy way of processing things. Because you can get the trauma out of your head And you can write the ending you wish it had. The trusted person rescue, the catharsis of getting to kill the one who hurt you.
It's good for your brain. It's healthier than bottling it up. Fiction is where we go for emotional release. That can be true with trauma too.
so what you're saying is
character: NO
therapist: YES
Adding @dear-massacre's tags because they are so true:
#this is why it's important to remember that fictional characters are fake #they have no agency. they're made up #it hurts no one to make any character go through the horrors #it is healthy and cathartic
yeah okay ill reblog that

Me filtering out kinks I don’t like on AO3.
I'm being afflicted again by the goose from the untitled goose game. I'm starting to fight back. I wrote a drabble about how it harassed me into writing a Star Wars crossover double drabble.
Clearly it's a beautiful day and I am a horrible author! Enjoy.
