oikawa is the ideal instructor for nervous beginners. while he has absolutely zero patience for cocky bros that pull up for a quick thrill, he has a particular soft spot for scared divers. he always has a comforting, reassuring pep talk with his divers in the plane before jumping. he’s also a perfectionist about every one of his jumps, with every single movement smooth and controlled.

iwaizumi, on the other hand, loves the cocky bros. because there’s nothing he enjoys more than giving them a good old shit-your-pants parachute fake out. for everyone else, iwaizumi’s great for a solid jump (though he may or may not get a little competitive about reaching the ground before oikawa).

hanamaki isn’t for the faint of heart. he thinks oikawa’s perfectly controlled jumps are painfully boring. with thousands of jumps under his belt, makki dives with the sort of weightless, carefree comfort of someone who’s confident enough to do it blindfolded. granted, there’s not a single doubt you’ll make it to the ground in one piece…but you’ll likely be rolling and spiralling and screaming the whole way down.
