I decided id being the willow branches from my precious piece as a influence. As willow branches you can obtain much bend then other branches. So I tied them together. with white yarn upon doing this I realised it looked quite similar to spider webs. Which got me inspired. And I added in these spider web patterns.

I wanted to add in some very bright colours and different textures. I started with a pattern but in the end just followed the spiral keeping the sides even. I went to a second hand clothing store, and found a great mix of vibrant colours, with textures from fluffy pyjamas to a corduroy skirt.

Another reason way I choose to use acetate is it takes colour very well. I spray painted the flowers, using pink, green and blue.

I started off the petals with acetate sheets. The sheets were malleable and easily manipulated by heat. Making them the perfect material to create the start of the flower.

the incorporation of the influence of Piss Flowers by Helen Chadwick puts in a twist to the innocent fairy tale style. it also brings bright vibrant colour in against the somewhat muted tones of the pages.

using willow branches as stems as they have some bend to them, like a flowers stem. The petals are made of children's annuals/books so the style choice is supposed to mirror fairy tale aesthetic look. The main struggle was figuring out the the balance, how to keep it up right. to mold and shape a flower while figuring out the logistics and weight.

Marc Quinn is well known for the scale of is sculptures. . Which had a hand in my inspiration as I typically go small and I wanted to break out of that habit.

Jeff Koon has had many works that involves flowers spanning over the course of decades. The main constituency between these pieces is the colour. His use of vibrant bright colours, which is what originally linked his work to my ideas.
