Final layout for the assessment. One year gone already!
Coming back to the studio...the last three days were intense but so nice. Now we need to prepare for the assessments next week.
This print is a collaboration between Suzannah, one of our teachers, and the students.
Each of us got a print from her, just with the first layer and we were asked to âleave our markâ on it. In the end they will be exposed all together.
Used the thin wood again to create the effect of 3D in this print.

Here I tried some new stuff.
The first print was just monoprint and then I used some thin wood pieces to print relief on top and create perspective and texture.
The second print though is a new technique we had a workshop on. Itâs called moko litho. It involves drawing on a woodblock with different medias, all having a certain amount of grease in them. Later on it goes a bit like lithography. The drawing on it needs to be washed off and the ink put on. You print it and you get different results depending on what you used to draw on it.
I based those two prints on beautiful rocks covered with moss that I saw on the beach.
The ship turned into a sea monster... my first âbigâ lino cut. It took me a few hours and one cut finger (just a little cut in my thumb). I really enjoyed it and the result itâs worth the work. Itâs not perfect, and the way I thought it would look like, but it has a little something! And it reflects the main idea I wanted to achieve. I have to work on my technique in lino cutting and think more about the black and white spaces.
I tried to get some inspiration from the stuff I found on my walk the first day. A piece of wood and the seaweed stuck to the stone made me think of a kind of a ship. Then I thought about the Spanish Armada which arrived at spanish point (therefore the name), so I tried to use that in my prints and this came out.
Both are monoprints, but I used different procedures.
Some color inspiration of course...
More cyanotypes. This time I just used twigs, branches and leaves.
Not so nice pictures but at least an idea of the prints.

Tried out cyanotype. The liquid on paper gives you endless option to play around with the shadows. In this case I drawed on acetate and used some twigs from the surroundings. 20 minutes ish in the sun and the miracle starts to work!
First day in Spanish point after the Easter break...we are asked to go for a walk and get inspired. And of course nature inspired me again! Itâs just amazing!
Tried to make âMoss graffitiâ. I mixed buttermilk, water and bits of moss. I gathered moss from the pavement, wet bricks, concrete paths, etc. The moss of the forests will not work so well and it is advisable to leave it in its natural habitat. Then I just had to wash the soil of it and mix it with the buttermilk and water. Finally, you can brush it onto a wall, just as it would be paint.
And then...wait...
Last day of printing before Easter...
My wall right now...searching for inspiration before the year is gone...!

First T-Shirt printed!
Unfortunately I didnât take any pictures during my screen printing...but hey, whatâs the internet for? I had fun doing it and will probably try it out way more times....this was just a test run!
Final prints from my etching plate plus an etching I did before this one (which turned out absolutely horrible but I wanted to post anyway).
I tried to play with it a bit so I used different papers/backgrounds and ink.
