My space set up for assessments
I went on to doing text. 'who wrecked the gaff? - bunch on cun*s'
Again, I did the background with over printing the wallpaper so the lines would match up. I then used monoprint to do the chair and text. The bolder text of "bunch of cun*s" was done in lino.
These were the first set of prints I did. I used the wallpaper I found to print texture. Then I cut the chair out of lino. I also love the colour combination of orange, yellow, brown and black.
We went on a trip to Spanish Point for a few days. There was an abandoned house next to the print studio which inspired my prints. I found an old piece of wallpaper which I printed textures with. I also loved the broken chair. These were the pinnacle of my inspiration.

Finished print piece for the Limerick project. I used drypoint and lino to make this print. I like the contrast between the red characters and the blue Garda. If I was to do the print all over again, I would do a coloured/textured background because I think the white is too plain. I would've also printed the windows in a way that they wouldn't be on the characters as they blend in with the windows, but over all I'm very happy with my print.
I printed my lino cutouts on a jumper today just to see what they would look like. I really like the way it turned out.
I plan on printing these linos on the window prints. I'm also thinking of doing a character of a garda man on the far right corner. I haven't decided on the composition fully though.
I used 15x15inch sheet of acetate for this print of the window. I like the messy colour effect by not wiping the ink off fully in the first photo. Cleaned up more of the ink in second print.
Rough sketch of an idea for final piece

Some more lino prints on top of drypoint prints. As well as lino on a photograph of the old workers who used to work on the dock road in the 30s Vs who works there now.
Some characters I've cut out of lino and printed on top of drypoint prints and a steel plate print. I chose to do them in bright red colour to make them stand out and also represent the Limerick 'red light district'.
