“Okay, yes – this is my sixth cup of coffee, but in my defense…” Lois paused to take a long sip of coffee. “I was up writing all night. Turns out collecting a lot of research and notes sometimes takes a while to wade through, not to mention organize into a cohesive story. Who knew, right?” She paused. “Do you want some? I just made a fresh pot.”

“You know I’m taking the dramatic title away from Dick and handing it to you.” she teased a smirk on her face. There was no way Jason would get shot while restraining someone, he was too good for that, Babs knew that. “Well then for my health then. I already have legs that don’t work, I have to wear mechanical braces that have a time limit, I don’t need lungs that don’t work either.” 

“oh don’t be like that Jason.” she winked.  she looked up at the sky sighing. “An old spell. Hopefully it wears off. There’s not many people who could pull off making it permanent. Hell I couldn’t even so that.” she explained. She took a drag of her own cigarette. “I’ve been trying to quit…not an easy thing to do in Gotham.” 

*･☠˙˖✧ — “i’m not being like anything.” jason says with a wide smirk. his eyebrows knit together while he stares up at the sky. “you can’t do this? well fuck.” whoever caused this is stronger than zatanna. a scary thought. “yeah. bad habits are almost impossible to quit when you live in a shitty place like this. might as well make the most of this life.”

“Jason. Gods am I glad to see you.” Zatanna said when she had gone in the direction of the gun shot. At least he was at the other end, although she wasn’t exactly fond of guns. “Yeah.” she nodded, giving him one out of her pack and a lighter. “Do we know how far the spell is affecting right now?” she asked him.

*･☠˙˖✧ — “you are? not a lot of people say that when they see me.” he laughs, takes the cigarette from zatanna. “thanks.” he listens and lights it. “from what i’ve heard it’s just gotham. nobody from star city or metropolis has contacted me.” jason takes a drag and looks up at the sky. “any idea what this is?”

“You just shot a man in the leg.” Barbara said dressed in costume hands on her hips. She’d worn the leg braces Tony made her so she didn’t need her wheelchair with her. Jason tended to do things a little differently from the rest of the bats. “You could have easily incapacitated him.” she chastised shaking her head at him. “I don’t have a cigarette, it’s bad for your lungs.” 

“Oh my god, are you still here?” Thorn raised her eyebrows at the sight of him. “I thought you were on some, like, emo soul-searching vigilante tour or some shit.” She sat on the table rather then the chair across from him, looking over at his papers. “Wow, Picasso, these are beautiful,” she cracked.

*･☠˙˖✧ — jason laughs at the thought of him being a soul searching emo. “what? and leave this beautiful city? the fresh air and sights always bring me back.” he scribbles a heart on the paper, signs his name in the corner. “thanks. it should be hanging in the louvre, but i’ll let you keep it. put it on your fridge.”

Jerome just grinned widely as he read what Jason had written. “Aw, you love me,” he said, his grin widening as he let out a signature laugh. He grinned at him again. “Entertain me, obviously,” he said, spreading his hands. He grinned at him. “Okay,” he said. “H?”

*･☠˙˖✧ — “i do not love you.” it comes out more defensive than he wants. jason leans back and puts his feet up on the table. if he’s going to play a game with a gotham criminal, might as well get comfy. “i’m not the entertaining type.” he shakes his head at jerome’s guess. “nope. cross that off. you’re never gonna get it.”

“Permanently got one, but thanks.” Barbara said wheeling her chair over to him and plopping a hot cup of coffee in front of him. “You know, you catch more flies with honey, has anyone ever told you that?” she asked one eyebrow raised as she looked over his doodles. “You look….busy.” 

Jerome threw his arms up in the air as celebration. “Jason!” he said. He dearly loved messing with all the Batkids and the various hangers-on, It had always and probably always would be deeply entertaining to him. “I’m bored,” he said, swinging himself into the chair opposite. “Pay attention to me.”

*･☠˙˖✧ — jason curls his lip, grabbing his pen and writing ‘fuck off’ on the paper. he shows it to jerome and smiles a sarcastic smile. “what do you want me to do about that?” he questions. with a deadly glare, jay slides the paper and pen over to jerome. “i’ll indulge you. i don’t have work for another hour. let’s play hangman.” 

“Why do I suddenly feel like I’m in a meeting?” Jim teased back when Jason told him to take a seat. Though, he sat down anyway like he was asked. Placing the coffee he got for him down in front of him before sipping his own. He gave a quick judging glance at Jason’s ‘art’ before looking back up at him. “As much as I agree that sometimes it’s necessary to shoot the opponent. I still happen to agree with Batman about not killing- at least, if you can help it.”

*･☠˙˖✧ — jason grabs the coffee, glad jim is fuelling his morning need for an energy boost. there it is. the holier than thou preaching he hates so much. “you’re starting to sound like bruce.” he’s irritated by jim’s attitude, fidgeting in his seat and prolonging his sips. “i don’t shoot everyone i see. i know people like to believe i do but it’s bullshit. maybe i’m a little trigger happy with the clowns running around but they deserve it.” he shrugs. “you’re telling me you’ve never wanted to paint gotham with joker’s blood?”

*･☠˙˖✧ — jason looks up from the sheet of paper on the table in front of him. it’s covered in scribbles and doodles. little stick men with x’s for eyes. he cocks his head to the side, arms casually folding across his chest. “unless you brought me shiny new guns or coffee, i hope you have a good reason for interrupting my ... art.” there’s a teasing smirk on his face, he nods toward the paper. “take a seat.”
