Teasing, (naturally) Saiga popped one of the rabbit shaped sweets into his mouth, a hum of content escaping, disguised as a half sigh as the chocolate melted on an instant. It probably wasn’t in the man’s best interest to try gauging a response from Ari by the prospect of taking a bite out of her rabbit friend.

“You look so cold, Yuyu, you poor thing. We can continue our conversation in the Baking Club, okay? I’ll make a hot chocolate for the both of us.” Cass shyly reaches for his hand and gently takes it in her gloved one.

Even from behind the delicate fabric of Cass’ glove, he felt the heat and pulse of her fingers and palm; cold fingers chapped and pink from the short venture from the dorms to the Academy’s campus now warming at their centers. If it were possible to bury his face deeper into the scarf, Yuji would have by now, but alas, the apex of his cheek bones jutted out, all of which shone a soft shade of pink.

“Ah! It’s not that cold out!” There were a lot worse situations he could have been in back in Satellite. “But I won’t turn down an offer for hot chocolate!”

“For tomorrow? Oh! To use for stuffing Saiga down a sewer pipe, right?”

Her heart jumps a little and she feels her cheeks warming her wind-chilled face. 

“I-I only planned on giving out chocolates to friends in the morning, then I am free…” She almost asked him if he wanted to ask her out, or ‘court her’ in Anjelly’s words. If she did, she felt it would ruin the (rather cold) romantic air. Cass waits patiently for his next words ignoring the wind;  the cold will not get in her way for a beautiful romance!

Yuji’s stomach twisted and turned as though someone had formed a fist around it. For a brief moment, he buried deeper into the recesses of his scarf, the musty scent of home still lingered somewhere in the medium grey fabric as he mulled over his next choice of words.

“I mean... if you’ve got time after doing that... I was wondering if you’d want to go out and do something together? Outside of school, of course.”

He surprised even himself at the approach; subtle and to the point. In truth, Yuji had spent a good few hours the night before picking over worst case scenarios and pestering Saiga for advice until it was begged of him to get some sleep.

      It’ll just come naturally, Yuj. You’re just naturally good with people in general.

Yuji had to suck in a quick breath between his teeth before continuing; a sharp cold biting into his throat from the cold winter’s air. The wind’s had been merciless lately and taxing on the boy’s health to say the least. Thankfully, his stress induced blush could easily be shrugged off by cause of frigid winds whipping along the campus lawn.
