The show removed all the women’s ambitions, personalities, flaws, and agency to not only turn them into the helpless victims while men around them destroy everything, but also for the sake of them being “likable”.

Rhaenyra doesn’t need a prophecy to make her want to be queen. She can just be angry that her throne was stolen because she was the rightful heir, it’s that simple. Alicent wanting peace instead of actively plotting to put her son the throne doesn’t make her interesting and makes her a boring character as opposed to her book counterpart.
