Chapter 3

Ari looked around the room. It was dim and looked like a sewer. She was internally cursing Netero for sending her here.

She walked around the room, looking at all the people taking Hunter's Exam. Ari was wearing a mask and a hoodie to avoid cases where someone recognized her. She looked down at her badge. 'Number 1, I wonder if it's too suspicious.' she thought.

The makeshift elevator door opened to reveal a young boy, a teenager, and an adult walking in the passage.  The boy who looked about 12 years old had dark green hair.  He wore green clothes and had deep brown eyes. The teenager behind him had blonde hair and a long blue dress.  She wondered if the adult was in the wrong place.  He was wearing something one might wear on a job interview. 'What a weird bunch,' she thought. 

She was about to approach them when the rookie crusher beat her to it.  The rookie crusher had a routine of bringing poisoned drinks to all first time exam takers. She saw as he offered them drinks, wondering if they would fall for his trick.  When the green-haired boy threw-up his drink, Ari walked in. "Oh," she said, walking up behind Tonpa the rookie crusher.

"Your bad habit hasn't left, I see. Let me tell you one more time, Expired ‘or’ poisoned drinks are bad for one's health. Please try to check the date for the juice bottles before bringing them here." She narrated as if it was normal for her to say this every time.  Tonpa gulped, while he slowly replied, "I will try to check next time."

He slowly turned and ran away as though he were afraid of her. Ari quickly turned around and gave the biggest and most welcoming smile she could. "Hi!!" Ari exclaimed joyfully. "I'm Ari. What's your name?" she inquired. 

The teenager looked at her with suspicion.  The kid replied," I'm Gon."  "This is Kurapika." He said, pointing at the teenager. "And this is Leorio." He said, looking at the adult.  "Oh," She replied while waving at them.

Chapter 2

Ari ran down the streets on the fated dark, gloomy night. Her errand in the bookstore had taken her longer than expected. Ari wanted to reach home in time for her favourite show.

She contemplated the decision to take a shortcut through a shady looking alley.  Compared to other women, she was strong. She knew she could take care of herself, so she chose the alley. When she entered the alley, she saw a pale-skinned man lying on the street injured surrounded by blood and corpses.

Ari was startled at what she saw before her. One part of her wanted to run away but another was surprisingly mesmerized by the pale looking man. Ari's mind couldn't let her leave an injured man so; she decided to help the man. She walked towards the man.

"Hello, little girl~ what might you be doing here so late at night?" the man said effortlessly. Ari was fascinated with how calm the man was even when he was wounded.

She bent down lower to come face to face with the man.  From afar, she couldn't make out the person's face but now that she was closer, she couldn't take her eyes off him.

The man looked a lot like a jester.🃏  He was tall and muscular, his height being almost 6'1. His cheeks have paint on them in the shapes of a star⭐ and a teardrop💧. His clothes had various suit symbols (heart♥️, club♣️, spade♠️, diamond♦️).  He had almost golden eyes and pretty fuchsia hair which seemed to defy gravity.

"Let me help you." She whispered.  "And how are you going to help me?" The man asked. Ari did not like the man underestimating her.  She used her nen to lay him down. Her nen was of the specialist category- she could heal wounds with her touch.

The man, who hadn’t expected this, looked shocked. He got up and checked himself. It looked as if he hadn't been in a fight at all.  "It seems pretty late for an introduction…”She said, her voice quivering. Holding her head up high, she continued, “But, Hi, I'm Ari," "Hello Dear ~, I'm Hisoka," he said amused.

At that moment, the man let out such intense bloodlust that Ari shook in fear, she was now truly aware of how dangerous the man was. Not wanting to stay in his presence any longer, she chuckled awkwardly moving away from the jester. She turned away from him and announced, "Uh, ok I have to go home now so bye!" and ran away.

Chapter 1

It was a dark, gloomy night one on which the moon looked almost blood red.  The night had gotten rid of any chances of seeing shadows; many people took this opportunity to get out on the street to take care of troublesome business.

One of these many people was a man most might know as the magician.  Hisoka stepped quietly out of a dodgy, dubious-looking alley. He had just set his sights on his so-called newest fruit.  He had decided, after much contemplation, that his fruit was finally ripe and ready to be savoured.

He faced the man, or in this case the fruit, in question.  "I was expecting you, Hisoka." the man said with much noticeable bitterness in his voice. "I can finally avenge my brother." the man said in glee. "Oh really, so you think you'll be able to take me on alone~," Hisoka stated.

One could easily see the amusement on Hisoka's face.  His usual Cheshire cat-like smile was on display for anyone who would be unfortunate enough to pass through that part of town. "How truly interesting. Oh, how much I had waited for this day to come. To crush you."

The magician was confident in his skills. He knew he was skilled and loved to prove it to himself and others.  He felt invincible when he defeated a competent opponent, it was a feeling that he greatly desired.

Hisoka's words of glee enraged the man he was facing.  "I will not lose to the likes of pathetic men like you." the man screamed out.  The man's words irked the magician and made him lose this calm.

Hisoka threw his cards straight at the man.  The man managed to dodge the attack skilfully and moved a considerable distance away from Hisoka.  Hisoka, however, had lost his interest in the fight after he man's disgraceful comment towards him.

He attached his Bungee Gum on the man, placed his card in front of himself, and pulled the man towards him and straight into the card, hence killing the man.  "It's quite a shame actually. You would've lived longer had it not been for your blabbering."

Along with the magician, hiding in the dark was a group of hunters. These hunters weren't with the magician but had, in fact, come to kill the man.  Hisoka noticed their presence as soon as they arrived in that part of town.

He let his aura out showing the hunters that he knew of their arrival.  "Ah, what a coincidence it is for you to arrive right when I required some entertainment," Hisoka said, in his naturally creepy voice.

The hunters ran towards Hisoka whilst launching their attacks.
