Rose Granger-Weasley is the smartest witch of her age and therefore she’s the first to figure out that Lou Ellen Blackstone can, in fact, do wandless magic.
After that, they practice wandless magic together whenever they can because Rose has a natural proclivity for it as well. They practice other spells, with wands, together too. They’re a Gryffindor and a Hufflepuff respectively but they both have that Ravenclaw thirst for knowledge; they want to know more ways to apply their magic.
Rose once tried to get Lou Ellen to play Quidditch. Needless to say, it didn’t go well, and Lou Ellen prefers to keep both her feet on the ground, thank you very much. She does, however, come to all the games with at least one red item on her person to support her best friend. Even when Hufflepuff plays against Gryffindor.
During trips and visits to Hogsmeade, Rose and Lou go to Honeydukes a lot.
Chilling out in the Gryffindor common room with a glass of butterbeer became their go-to thing after exam seasons. Sometimes they chill out in the Hufflepuff common room with food too.
Lou Ellen mostly stays with her guardian, doctor Howard Claymore, and her older brother Alabaster C. Torrington - who’s been expelled from Hogwarts. Sometimes, though, she gets invited to spend at least a week of the summer holidays with the Granger-Weasley-Potter clan and she always says ‘yes’.
Rose has landed herself in detention for verbally destroying her house-mate, Ellis Wakefield, who said something uncouth about Lou Ellen. Similarly, Lou Ellen has landed herself in detention for getting into a fist fight after someone made fun of Rose. And for stealing the noses of those very same people too. (Lou refused to give them back for a week!)
Rose is good at studying but bad at time management. Lou Ellen can manage a little bit of time if she pulls herself together; they help each other study.
Lou Ellen gently brings up Scorpius Malfoy in the conversations they have sometimes; it doesn’t take a genius to see that Rose is quite smitten with him. And hey, it’s only fair, isn’t it? Because Rose brings up Lou Ellen’s significant other in the conversations plenty of times too!
All the myths are real and that’s why Lou Ellen’s been trained from a young age to defend herself if she ever finds herself in a situation where she can’t use her magic because doctor Claymore insisted. These days, Lou’s been steadily working on marrying magic and hand to hand combat. And, yes, the war has been over for a while now, but the after effects still linger, and the aftershocks still persist, so if Rose ever asks, Lou Ellen would be happy to show her the ropes.
