My mom saw my snake plants grow wild and they're fanning out quite a bit. She said I could use a string to tie them up so they grow straight instead of out.

The more I think about it, the more I don't want to do it. This is the huge difference in traditional Chinese culture compared to American culture. I don't have this mindset of what this plant should look like, I want it to do its thing and grow and be free. Yeah, it's just a plant and I might be blowing this out of proportion, but I think this is the simplest example of the difference of culture and it's a huge one in terms of raising a kid and being raised by my mom. I love my parents, but we've been through a lot 😅

She was my favorite character. She's never had a friend or someone who wanted to be with her, and she found it in squid game with sae-byeok. She finally had someone to be with her when she passed.

She was not alone anymore. And I think that speaks to all of us, in this day and age with the internet, a lot of us has probably never felt more alone.
