by Alex Knies It’s the simple things that make my day. Driving with the windows down with my phone plugged in, blasting my favorite playlist. Miraculously not having to stop for a red light. Only green. The wind blow-drying my hair out for me. Eating at one of those classy diners you see in movies. The ones with the black and white tiled floors. Instantly biting into my cheeseburger, not waiting for it to cool down. Juicy, medium-rare, cooked to perfection. Having time for the little things, like catching up on errands. Going to a Laundromat. Taking the time to separate the lights and darks. That refreshing smell of detergent and the warmth from clothes just finished drying. When my clothes fit just right. No bad hair days, or tight-fitting pants. A nice denim jacket to throw on. It’s the little things that make my day. The things I don’t get to see too often, living in a hustle-and-bustle world.
