I know people have opinions on her but I love Edwina’s character for a lot of reasons one of them being with how hyperfeminine she is. Society has a certain way of writing WOC in a masculine manner, WOC or darker skin women can never seem to be soft in personality and style so when I saw Edwina I was like “she’s so adorable”. I think sometimes the way the fandom hates on her is partly because of internalized racism (and internalized misogyny but that’s a different talk), we’re so used to having darker skinned women being portrayed as just another version of the leading man that when we do get a hyperfeminine character we hate on her.

Also, this is why I think people really hope that she did end up with the prince because since she basically screams Princess Aurora energy and her being a WOC getting that Disney princess ending just is amazing. You can also say all of Bridgerton’s pale skin leading ladies are naïve.
