The Story of Me, Myself, and I

But, I think I finally did something for my mental well being today.

Gratitude --‐------------------------------------------------------ I do not believe I am good friend. A feeling that has haunted me as long as I have lived in this digital world we all share. Constantly afraid I am a nuisance to the detriment of friendships I hope to maintain. As a result of my daily commute my only interactions are with coworkers or halfhearted attempts on my end to keep in touch with people I genuinely care for via the occasional message. Ending each night browsing posts of people on here wondering how their day was, only to be met with the same thought as before: I am not a good friend. Which leads me to gratitude. I am beyond grateful for every single person that has come into my life. Every one of you is a part of my story. Be it a sentence or chapters we are still writing to this day. That is why as toxic as my own thoughts are I eventually snap out of it by realizing that I am grateful. Grateful that I have a history, grateful that there is a now, and grateful that there can be a future I have a hand in shaping. People change. I need to embrace change as well. I am not the same person as I was 10 years ago, but I do share some of the same flaws. This year I try. Try to move past the mental blocks I have placed before myself. Move past the fear of trying to be there. The fear of living life without those I care about. I came up with a silly idea in 2021. To reach out to everyone that follows me and try my best to reconnect. To do something to say thank you for being a part of my life and hear about yours. The year is 2023 now so as you can tell I never really got started, but that changes now.
