“I don’t know why I love you so much,” jokes showrunner and producer Amy Sherman-Palladino while interviewing her friend Sutton Foster. “You have this fairy-dust effect on people that I’m not even sure you know about,” she says with a laugh.

FIRST LOOK! Katharine McPhee Serves Up a Smile in Broadway’s Waitress
The Scorpion actress and American Idol alum, 33, will make her Broadway debut this spring for a limited run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre beginning April 10.
It’ll be a full-circle moment for McPhee, who had previously starred in NBC’s short-lived and cult-hit TV series SMASH, about the making of a Broadway musical. And it’s a debut that McPhee has patiently anticipated making over the years.
“I’ve waited a long time to do Broadway mostly because I wanted it to be a show that I connected to,” McPhee tells PEOPLE. “I felt Waitress was just that: really well-suited for me.”

musical theatre meme | 7/10 actresses | Sutton Foster
Bernadette Peters turns 70 this week. Her name is synonymous with American musical theatre—and the moniker “young and cute forever.” How did that happen? And has she ever really gotten the respect she deserves? We take a romp through 1970s Los Angeles, ’80s New York, and the brain of a ’90s pre-teen to find out how Bernadette Peters became a woman not afraid to take up a lot of space. (x)
