🎧 Niigo is ready to save others in Dream Land with their music!

this is part 2 of dreamland sekai, a series of turning pjsk characters as if they were in Kirby! MMJ will be next ^^

but what does it mean to save her?

it's not stopping her from "disappearing." it's not making her smile. it's not helping her find a goal in life. it's not even getting her out of her abusive household. because all of those things have happened already and kanade hasn't so much as patted herself on the back.

considering all that, i don't think kanade will ever "save" mafuyu. none of her songs will ever accomplish that mission. they can't.

because here's the thing. kanade doesn't use her songs as a means to save people. she uses "saving people" as a means to keep making songs. remember, it all goes back to her guilt complex. if mafuyu or someone else doesn't need her music to save them, she feels she has no right to create it.

On a related but more certain note, I noticed how of everyone seen with the red strings, Kanade's the only one not actively manipulating them, instead just holding them between her fingers idly. Additionally I'm not sure if they all belong to her. I think this is meant to symbolize how while the other three want to grow, move forward, and decide their own fates, Kanade is stuck where she is, hoping her music can change others' lives instead of working to improve hers.

I won't lie the movements remind me of a conductor's hand movements. I could be wrong though

See I had similar thoughts. I think the string could be somewhat symbolic of the future. Mizuki ties her string up in a bow, which could be a nod towards her doing something with fashion in the future or maybe even her identity as a girl. Mafuyu's playing cat's cradle with hers, so it's not definite. Similar to how she hasn't definitively found her sense of self yet and thus isn't sure how she wants her future to pan out. Ena's string connects to a paintbrush, which is pretty self explanatory I think.
