“Semantics.”

          “Then…don’t say anything.” She didn’t mean to sound so cold, but these days the college student was anything but patient. Nothing seemed to be going her way. Why should that change now? 

“....” The female took what the other said very seriously and didn’t say anything at all. She just stood there awkwardly.

It’s nice under this bridge.  The soldier (Bucky?) didn’t even have to scare anyone else out from under here to claim it.  It’s a good place to sleep tonight.  Living on his own is hard, getting food is hard, staying safe is hard, a lot harder than being told what to do, but they.  They took away.  Steve.  The man on the bridge.  Whatever that was.  All about.  And they took away.  Bucky.  (??) Too.  It’s not safe to be alone but it’s not.  It’s even less safe for other people to own you.  And he doesn’t have to kill people now.  He never liked that anyway.

He hears approaching footsteps, and he looks over warily.  He knows how to be intimidating when he needs to be.  If they come under here, he’ll kindly send them on their way.

Truth be told she had no clue where she was going, she didn’t even really understand walking at that moment in time, she just knew how to do it. Being human was still new to her which meant things like getting cold was new to her too. Looking up at the sky she saw the familiar dark looking clouds and decided it was best to try and find shelter. Standing under the rain last time hadn’t had the best outcome and she didn’t enjoy that cold feeling.

“I… Have we met? You seem familiar, but I have not seen you before in the time I have had eyes.”

“So you’re pretty much the glowing stick of destiny turned human? That’s really cool.”

“Yes, that’s me. Cool? You think?”

“No way. You can’t actually be serious?”

So then-did she know him? Technically, he knew-um-her? He’d been exposed to the thing enough with Strucker’s tests afterall. “Okay then.” Cocking his head, “Well, I’m Pietro Maximoff. Is it safe for you to be ‘round here?”

He flagged down a waitress and ordered two coffees. After a few more moments, he withdrew his gaze from the door and turned to look at the woman finally.

“How else am I going to get pretty girls  to some sit and have coffee with me, though?”

His smile faltered and he sighed,

“But, yeah. You’re right. I’m taking care of it. She just  sort of came out of nowhere, though. I was…pretty caught  off guard.”

“That’s not a good reason”

“So what are you? If that is not too rude to ask.”
