1.) Look at the black tights Bruce forces him to wear during the winter. And his height as a function of apples is rapidly approaching zero. So tiny.

2.) Dick went out of his way to make a plan to help Mr. Freeze try to save his wife because “it’s Christmas”. That’s so cute. Please.

3.) Look at his quips!!! He’s trying so so hard.

4.) The 8-year old wants to drive the Batmobile. The 8-year old will stop at absolutely nothing to drive the Batmobile

And when he does finally manage to get the Batmobile… omg. He’s so happy.

5.) Mr. Freeze himself is so shocked by Dick’s kindness that he ends up spilling some of the advancements in cryo-tech he initially discovered for Nora, and those findings are later sent to Lucius Fox and used to revolutionize transport of vaccine and other medicines.

Dick being a Good Boy™️ potentially led to the improvement of millions of lives. Because he was too cute for one (1) villain to resist. Lord.

Well it’s more of I was convinced at the hints on the theory of All For One is Izuku’s father thing (This is the link btw: link)

To answer your question: I’m up to date to the manga especially chapter 198 :)

So, the first thing that really made me curious was this picture. The side by side of Izuku and All for one is just too similar that it’s uncanny and it made me wonder. Could they be related somehow? 

(So I have to look for the subtle hints on the manga. and all the subtle hints are on the link above )

We all know that Hisashi Midoriya…

Works Abroad

Has a fire breathing quirk 

His name means “It’s been a while that I’ve seen you” or “a long time ago”

We don’t know much of Hisashi other than those info.

But I could say that they all checkout.

1.) Hisashi works abroad… Meanwhile we see All for one is in America in this panel.

2.) Hisashi can breath fire. Meanwhile All for one has multitudes of quirks that there’s a possibility of one of those quirks is fire breathing (He could have lied to Inko on what quirk he truly has. He is not careless to just say it bluntly to Inko ‘Hey I have a vast amount of quirks) that would be ridiculous.

3.) Hisashi’s name. Horikoshi has a thing of puns in the names of each of his characters and it’s awesome and cute. His name just means ‘a long time ago’ meanwhile All for one is ancient. He was been here since the beginning of quirks appear in the world.

Some speculations that I really like and that made sense in a way.

If All for One is Hisashi, it just made sense if Izuku is quirkless. Since All for One is from the first generation. The chances of having a baby to pass on the genetics of having a quirk would be super low.

If by chance. Izuku has a quirk. It would also made sense if it’s subtle since we all see that All for one’s brother. One for All, also have a quirk but it’s not that noticeable maybe it’s in their genetics like in the family of some sorts.

Deku’s doctor seems to look like the same one as All for one’s doctor

The possibility of him altering Izuku’s test result is super high. I kind of noticed that Inko and Izuku only checked up on this doctor and they seemed didn’t go to another one to have another opinion on the matter of Izuku being quirkless or not 

(Aside from that, the voice actor for the doctor is the same as the voice actor for both of them 

We all know that All for one wanted to kill off all the One for All’s successors. The only troublesome quirk that he couldn’t take back and also be stolen. He is brutal and unforgiving as you can see  how he dealt with Nana. 

He blew up he entire city just to kill Nana (that’s just overkill! But then again, He locked his sickly brother in a vault so…

All for One has a lot of connections. He will know where Yagi Toshinori is because he knows he is the next successor next to Nana. He will hunt him down and kill him off for sure. that is why Gran Torino is hiding Toshinori as much as he can. He protected him through out the years.

Though that made me wonder…

Since we all know that he wanted to kill all the successors. Especially All Might. And WE all know that All for one knew of Izuku was the next successor. Then why didn’t he kill him off back then in the Kamino Ward?

He is brutal, unforgiving. He even overkilled Nana and will kill All Might. Yet why? These 5 students (especially Izuku) were just hiding behind a broken wall and he couldn’t see that? It is super convenient that there’s a wall part that isn’t even damaged and it is enough to cover the students.

Why is there a hesitation on his part? He can see them. He knows that they are there, yet why didn’t he bother to finish them off just the what he did on the other heroes?

Not unless something is holding him back…

Also in other things. 

The way Izuku’s One for All activates. Red is the symbol of All for one and Light Green glow is for One for All.

Yet we see them on Izuku. The red lines and the lightning. Could be that he has a remnant of All for one’s quirk in him, a mutated version of it?

Then there’s this part where he can communicate to One for All…

Yet we don’t see ‘just’ One for All’s memories. WE also see All for one’s memories…

As you can see here…

One for all isn’t present at all and we know that he is sickly and we all know he is locked up in a vault and he would never joined in side by side with his brother to see this.

It is strange… why would Izuku would ever have those memories…. Not unless… he has a remnant in him of All for one’s quirk…

Then there’s this part:

Translations are different on this part as I heard and this lines are super vague compared to the volume book release. Yet in the other translations, it is not stated what All might took from him. It could be ‘what he has build in like his empire yet there’s the part in the translation of he took something or someone from him. It is vague but I want to believe that it is so dear to him that he has to kill All might for it.

REMEMBER, He locked his brother in a fucking vault for heaven’s sake. He is possessive, even what he is doing is wrong, he always thinks what he think is the right thing to do. He locked his brother to either protect him or for him to just not run away, to keep him there.

I would like to also point out something and credits to everyone in the All for one servers that I’m in to point it out:

Horikoshi said in his latest interview that ‘Izuku’s father will be ‘revealed’ soon in the manga’ let’s point it out. It is said ‘revealed’ and not ‘introduced’ which just saying that we know the character in the manga already and it’s super exciting!

The timing of that interview was perfect that the week or so after the interview. We got the One for All dream.

It’s a great, powerful, beautifully-animated, show…but…

Do you remember back in the early days of different fandoms when everyone was making those dark, shocking, theories for the sake of being the ones who would be remembered for those dark, shocking theories? You know, X character is really in an asylum, Y characters were dead all along, etc. And people would be like, “Yeah, that’s creative, but why would you take a wholesome character, show, premise, etc. and give them this twisted fate? Oh, because you can? …Okay. Congratulations. You can………now what?”

I feel like that’s what Steven Universe has become. That’s what Future is.

Okay, you’ve proven that you know how to sneak in real-life issues of genocide, mental-illnesses, abuse, etc. into an everyday children’s cartoon. Okay. Yep. You can. Congratulations. Now. What.?

I keep comparing Steven Universe Future with Bojack Horseman (which I never thought I’d end up doing…and am not sure anyone should do…) because both of them apparently deal with these serious mental health issues…but Bojack Horseman has always marketed itself as an adult cartoon that’s going to take you on this serious introspective journey and Steven Universe…is a children’s cartoon on Cartoon Network that was originally about a boy and ice-cream.

And I know kids can handle these dark themes, we did when we were kids. My favorite (let’s face it, everyone’s favorite) episode of Danny Phantom is still the Ultimate Enemy, an AU where Danny watches his friends/family die, goes to his enemy, has his ghost-half ripped out, only to be killed by that ghost-half, which wages war on the city. Avatar didn’t hold back in showing Ozai’s regime and the things the different nations have done to one another. But I feel like Avatar did so in a much different light. Throughout all of Avatar, you saw these tragedies through the lens of, “The world is horrible now, but that’s why we’re here, we’re going to avenge the fallen and save/balance the rest of the world.” With few exceptions (the bloodbending episode coming to mind), the episodes/arcs ended on a relatively optimistic note. If there were cliffhangers, they were balanced, showing that something big was about to happen, but that those characters over there, yeah they’re all still optimistic, so hope isn’t lost.

I don’t know if Rebecca Sugar is just going through her Ebony Darkness Dementia Raven Way phase (…hey, is there anything saying she never wrote…never mind), but these episodes of Steven Universe are dark and depressing just to be dark and depressing. And it’s kinda troubling.

Because here’s the thing…I’m sure these dark episodes are leading to a happy resolution at the end. Steven’s going to get corrupted, that’s pretty much a known fact at this point, but they’re going to save him through the power of friendship and singing and gay. Quick two-minute montage showing that everything’s good now, one big final song, and Steven Universe ends on a happy note. Literally. But until we reach that point, these individual episodes just leave me feeling bitter and twisted. Like watching a Bojack episode, but again, at least I knew what I was getting into with that show. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve told people to not watch specific episodes of Steven Universe Future because the trauma is so realistic that it could be triggering for them.

And I just keep thinking about episodes like this:

And how we went from that to episodes like this:

And it’s like, how am I supposed to feel?

How is anyone supposed to feel after watching this lovable character spiral into an abusive, aggressive, state? Am I supposed to feel happy? Satisfied? I don’t! I feel bitter and angry and confused. And if that’s what Sugar’s intent is…again, congratulations, you did it…but why? At what cost? And now what’s the plan?

EDGELORD. Sorry, couldn’t think of the word we always used for those people who came up with the dark, twisted, scenarios. Just remembered. Edgelord. And, god, Rebecca Sugar really is becoming an edgelord, isn’t she? All of the latest Steven Universe Future episodes, and the latest promo/leaks have so much of that edgelord dynamic. The “we can be dark and twisted just to show you we can be dark and twisted” feel without any real substance behind it. I just don’t get it. What’s the point of all of that? To be more realistic? To show accurate portrayals of PTSD and other mental illnesses? Since when has the show about a half-alien boy living with three space rocks been focused on ultra-realistic depictions of real-life traumas? Yeah, the first few seasons of the old show touched on it, like Rose’s Scabbard and The Answer, serious themes were dealt with, but they were done in a cartoony way, there was a buffer between the cartoon world and the real world that just doesn’t seem to exist anymore. And I can’t explain how or why it disappeared…it’s just gone.

I guess Steven Universe Future is for all of the fans who want that hyper-realistic portrayal of mental illnesses and abuse…as portrayed by some of their favorite cartoon characters. You know…that common niche. /s. But I always saw the cartoon, the children’s cartoon, as a means of escapism. Which is a concept I know Sugar knows about because there’s a song called Escapism in an episode called Escapism. The new episodes don’t feel escapist at all. They’re not there to make us forget about real-world traumas or show those traumas in a softened light with a hopeful message that we can overcome them. They’re shoving real-world traumas down our throats with no resolution, as if that’s the point. They’re making people realize how twisted and dark the world can get just to show how twisted and dark the world can get. If that’s your goal…to quote that fish from Spongebob, “Once again…..congratulations.” But, damn, what a weird goal to have…for a children’s cartoon.

A lot of people have been wondering why Steven is so angry, and where their sweet baby boy has gone, and I think people are struggling because they don’t understand how little they respected Steven before.

Because I don’t think that Steven has undergone a huge character shift. Admittedly, he’s angry more frequently now, but I don’t think his anger is bigger or more intense or any worse than it’s been at other points in the series. Steven’s feelings haven’t gotten bigger…

But Steven has.

I counted up all the times Steven gets angry in the series, being fairly charitable and not counting more minor moments of annoyance of frustration. I’ve got about 21 moments out of 160 episodes for the original series. Granted, that’s only once every seven episodes, but it’s not insignificant. The idea that Steven never gets angry is factually wrong. 

We see his temper the first time in Steven the Swordfighter, and it’s not a very wholesome look at the boy. He’s frustrated because Pearl is gone and Holo-Pearl isn’t a good replacement. And, already, I bet you’re starting to tune out a little. Because Steven’s being a stupid little kid, isn’t he? Pearl’s coming back. He’s just throwing a tantrum.

Tantrum is the word we give to anger and sadness we don’t respect. It’s a word we use to belittle and ignore children, even when their feelings are justified.
