Thinking that December 1st marks one year since you got put down is crazy to think it feels like just yesterday. I was hoping the news wasn't real and wishing my best friend didn't have to leave me as we have been through so much, and dealing with things won't be the same without you by my side anymore.

Iced coffee is one of the best things to wake up and make to get all the energy and caffeine that is needed to conquer the day you have ahead of yourself.

The CN Tower opened to the public on June 26, 1976. The tower is used on many different occasions, such as changing the color of the tower when home teams have won championships and if they're are events happening around us and in the world.

What is doom scrolling?

Doom scrolling is constantly scrolling social media to find out the newest and latest trends and news that are being put out every day.

Why is everyone leaving social media?

People continue to leave social media due to the fact of it just being endless scrolling. Endless scrolling has become the main factor consuming everyone's day and them not having time for other important things in life.

A Statistics Canada report published in March 2021 showed that among all social media users between 15 and 64 years old, 19 percent reported that they had lost sleep, 22 percent said they got less physical activity and 18 percent had trouble concentrating on tasks or activities as a result of their social media use.

In recent years, several high-profile celebrities have either temporarily deactivated their social media accounts or chosen to log off for good for a variety of reasons.

I think this is happening more and more recently due to all the negative aspects of social media and people prompting the more negative effects of it, especially affecting people's mental health.

Such as cyberbullying is a major factor. Social media loves bringing overs down because they won't be seen. They are anywhere in the world saying this all behind a screen basically being hidden behind their comments. This can affect someone's mental health and push them off the platform as well as lower their self-esteem.

There's also the factor of everyone getting judged for everything they do / post on social media which brings the negative aspects into it more.

Ways we can fix this and make sure doom scrolling isn't always happening:

I think there are many ways that this can be fixed so that people who enjoy social media ad ake content don't need to leave the platforms due to the fact that all they do is scroll for endless hours.

The first way is to have a certain amount of time every day where you go on socials and get your social media and news fix for the day and then be done for the day or go in it very frequently.

The other way is to not let the negative aspects of doom scrolling affect your everyday life so you can still stay on the platform and be a part of it.

Is social media a tool for good, that is misunderstood and has many positives i.e.: connecting people? 

That's the question everyone has been asking for years. I personally think for certain things yes it's an amazing tool that many people misunderstand and have misconceptions about, but if you are going to use it for the wrong purposes it just loses its name as a "good tool" and that's where it being misunderstood/misconceived comes into play as it is being used for non-useful purposes.

Ways that social media shows it can be a very good tool are:

Being able to communicate with anyone anywhere at any time in the world. You can talk to family and friends who live abroad and always keep in touch and never lose that connection with them.

You are able to work for companies far away while working from your home due to social media playing a big part in the communication of the job.

Social media is also a great tool because you can be a content creator and live off of making content and become a big content creator. That right there can be your job and you can connect with people anywhere in the world who enjoy your content.

Reasons why people have misconceptions/misunderstandings about social media being a good tool:

I think the many reasons why people have misconceptions and misunderstandings about social media being used as a tool is that most of them are older people who don't really understand it and how it's been evolving in a way where it can be used in a helpful way for them.

I also think people think this because of all the bullying that happens over social media which is understandable if I only heard about cyberbullying over social media I would never think it's a good tool and could be helpful in any way I'd think it was awful.
